It just keeps getting better and better doesn't it?

The animation looked even better in place than with the previous episode. The backgrounds were gorgeous. I particulary liked the white backgrounds in Weiss' house and the dark forest in the last scene.

I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't get to see yang and Blake yet, but it was probably for the best. It would have made Weiss' part in this episode smaller and it was very important that we got to see all these characters interact the way they did.

First of all: Weiss' brother. She doesn't really seem to like him and I can exactly tell why. He is as sneaky and manipulating as his father and Weiss can't stand that. That's probably what he meant when he compared her to Winter. She disobeed her father and upset him by going to beacon in an attempt to become a huntress. Mr. Schnee uses Weiss like a tool to earn more sympathy as we see in the video and is highly manipulative. He is money obsessed and doesn't care for the ones around him as we hear from Weiss' brother when he tells her their mother is already drinking in tea in the garden. The fact that Weiss isn't shocked to hear this suggests that she has a drinking problem that has been going on for quite some time.
Then we have Klein;  one of my favorite new characters so far. He acts like a real fatherfigure to Weiss, even going so far as to making her laugh when she's upset. I think he showcased his semblance doing this. He has the gift to immitade people's voices; a talent that may help Weiss escape from her home in the future,  but more on that later.
When in her fathers study,  Weiss is asked to sing for a charity-event held by her father. This is particulary interesting if you remember her charactertrailer. It felt a little out of place in the first season, because almost all other trailers tight in with the plot.  Now it actually makes sense. Plus,  we will probably finaly see her sing and she has been bragging about that the whole show so far.

Now,  lets talk about the ruby part. Or JNRR part, what you prefer I guess. I really love how the writers switch from light-hearted humor to really sad moments. For example; we start of with ruby getting lost, but in reality the village has been inialated by a bandit-ish group?  They find a wounded huntsman,  who tells them what happened. They decide to get a medic or get him to a hospital, but it is too late, he has passed away. Then we get a heartbreaking moment with Jaun saying : "I'm just tired of losing everyone." All while rem keeps his distance. When he and Nora spot this mark on the ground they look at each other and don't say a word to the others.

My theorie is that this is the mark of a clan Rem was in a while back and he has only told Nora about. Kinda similar to Blake actually. I think that after the collosal defeat of the white fang, Adam took over this clan and it's probably the same people we saw in the intro. First I taught that the white fang just had new fancy costumes, but this makes a lot more sense.

Too bad we didn't get to see Blake and Yang yet, but I'm sure that roosterteeth has a lot more in store for us.
