Sometimes I find the most wonderful animated music video's while searching for songs. Here's my top 10 list of the best animated songs.
Just one song per band/ artists. Otherwise it wouldn't be fair. You can still check their other songs out yourself.
10. There she is step 1- SamBakZa
I didn't really know what to put here, but then I remembered this adorable video. Yes, it is Japanese, but that just makes it cuter. Check the other steps out too!
9. Do I wanna know - arctic monkeys (WARNING mature themes)
The key element here is simplicity. The lines perfectly match the music, while this is for the biggest part just lineart.
8. One more time - daft punk
One word: Anime. No two words: fucking anime.
7. Delta - C2C
I like a lot of C2C's songs and there's no exception to this one. It's animation style is also something very original.
6. Ode to Bouncer - Studio killers
Studio killers have a reputation for beautiful animated videoclips. For example their songs Jenny & Eros and Apollo. I had to go with ode to Bouncer though, since it was their first international hit. The colors just jump of the screen and it has a really interesting style.
5. Take on me - a-ha
Well here's a classic for ya. I just had to put it on this list, since it was all done with traditional sketches and very clever editing.
4. Ghost - mystery skulls
This is probably the most popular and well known song on this list, but I can't blame them, 'cos it's just a real good song. The animation matches the beat perfectly and the characters are simple, yet original and diverse. There has been released a second mystery skulls animated song, so I suggest you check that one out as well.
3. Lone digger - caravan palace (WARNING mature themes and gore)
I'm sorry for this one. I just love caravan palace and all of their music video's are really awesome. In the end I had to choose between rock it for me, Lone digger and wonderland. Eventually I choose for Lone digger because I love the lineless animaldesigns, Smooth movements and flashy colors. And O god, the music fits it perfectly.
2. Do the evolution - pearl Jam (WARNING mature themes and gore)
This song is just so full of energie and has such a powerful message that I just had to watch it a few times before I saw everything. Also, how in the hell have they made this animation? You've got to have a huge budget for this kind of animation. Actually, how in the hell did all the artists on this list do this?
1. Feel good inc. - gorillaz
This number one spot is for all of their songs, because a lot -and I mean a lot- of their songs are animated. And all in the quality of this one. This must be my personal favorite though, probably because it fits the song and mood of the song so well and because of the movement switches.
