There have come out a huge amount of films already this Summer and there are a lot more that will come out soon, so that is why I made this list.
5. Dr. Strange
I'm not very fond of Marvel films, since I grew up with DC, but the trailer for dr. Strange looks fairly decent. This film has a major advantage; dr. Strange is played by benedict cumberbatch.
4. Fantastic beasts and where to find them
It's not hard to guess why I'm excited for this one. One hint: I love books.
3. Kubo and the two strings
It's a Laika film. And we know Laika for making stop-motion wonders. I love there films and although some of them lack in plot, they make up for it in visuals. Kubo, however, is not made with stop-motion interely. This is not a bad thing though. It wil make the animation look much more fluent. The trailer looks gorgeous. The story seems to play an important part in this film and I hope to see that is more "grown-up" than most animation films.
2. Moana
I'm really looking forward to this one. It is marketed as another "disney-princess" film, but it looks like it is going to be more than that. Sure, you got the beautiful girl, the cute pig side kick and hero quest, but Moana will have no love interest, a more natural bodyfigure and both her parents. (What a relief.) I hope this film will put a heavy focus on putting the culture into visuals.
1. miss peregrine's home for peculiar children
Okay. This film is going to be my favorite film of the year. How do I know that? I mean, we've had an awesome filmyear already with films like zootopia and finding Dory. What could possibly top that? A combination of my favorite things of course; books and Tim burton. More specific; miss peregrine and Tim burton. I love all of burtons work and I can talk hours and hours about the novel miss peregrine's home for peculiar children, but I won't do that. Let me just show you the trailer.
