A/n: Shoutout to the homie TheObsessiveFan for making the new book cover!!! Thank you so much, you the real MVP Sammi <3 <3

The classroom was mostly dark, with only natural light coming through the open windows. It was a comfortable setting, really. The temperature wasn't too cold nor too hot, and fortunately, the air didn't reek of sweaty teenagers. Or "Hot ass" as Jack would normally call it.

There was really just a chill vibe among the environment of the physics room on a Monday afternoon. The balding, 30-something-year-old man passed out field trip permission slips to the 17 tired sophomores in the class.

He glanced up from his phone screen, his green eyes wondering over the sheet of blue paper that was placed on the table in front of him.

"I was told that this field trip is only for sophomores, so If you're a junior or a senior, I'm sorry." The Physics teacher chuckled, leaning against his desk and turning his attention back to the collection of Pokémon cards in his hands.

Ronnie looked down at his feet, cringing at the scuffmark on the toe of his black combat boots. He always made a successful effort to look cute everyday. Not just to be noticed by Jett, but also for his own satisfaction and self confidence.

He looked over at Jack, who was seated next to him. There was a small assignment for them to be doing, but no one in the class was doing it at the moment, as per usual. Jack was leaned back in his chair, his feet on the table

"I know you're laughin' at my slippers." Jack giggled, turning to face his friend.

"I've never seen anyone wear frog slippers to school... Or in public, really."

"You know I'm sexy!" Jack pretended to flip his hair over his shoulder and lifted one of his short legs straight up in the air to show off his green frog slippers. "Tip-toein' in my Jordan's, bitch."

Ronnie always admired that Jack was never afraid to be himself, and he really had no kind of filter, so he always said whatever popped into his head. He'd really always wished he could do that, and he praised the Irish boy for being so fearless.

"Those aren't Jordan's, Sean."

"They are! You don't know what you're talking about."
