It was weird seeing Ronnie cry. He wasn't balling his eyes out or anything, and he still looked super perfect and pretty as usual, but his eyes were red, eyeliner slightly smudged and there were faint tear streaks on his cute, freckled cheeks.
"Ronnie, why are you crying? What's wrong? You're scaring me." Jack bit his lip.
Ronnie just glanced down at the red bows on his sandals. his fingers playing with the bottom of his short, black dress. He'd glanced around the hallway, desperately trying to distract himself somehow.
"Okay, I'm probably overreacting, but my stomach really hurts, like, it feels like I'm having contractions or something and I'm starting to get worried because I haven't felt her move in a while..." He rested his small hands on his baby bump and mumbled "I'm really scared, I don't wanna have a miscarriage."
Jack gently pulled Ronnie into a hug and Mark did the same, hugging both of them at the same time.
"You should probably go to the hospital, just get checked out and make sure everything's okay." Mark suggested.
Ronnie wiped his eyes, careful not to smear his makeup any further, "I should, but my dad's at my house. I haven't talked to him in six months and he doesn't even know I'm pregnant. I don't have my car and I don't want him to come get me."
Just as the warning bell for class rang, Jack adjusted his pink baseball hat that read 1-800-HOTLINEBLING on the front and grabbed Ronnie's hand, telling Mark to let the teacher know they went to the office before leading Ronnie down the stairs. He was a bit forceful, but careful enough not to cause him any more pain.
"I really don't give a fuck, I'm scared, too. You need to go to the hospital now. Where the hell is Jett at?"
"I don't know, he hasn't even talked to me today..."
They stood outside the office doors and Ronnie stopped dead in his tracks. He took in a deep breath and squeezed his eyes shut, feeling his belly tighten slightly once again.
