Jack always got hurt somehow when he played any type of sport. He really was like a child, and never paid enough attention to his surroundings.
"Tell my parents I'll miss them. And tell my bae that it's okay to move on, and that I'll love him forever." Jack only half joked. Even though it was a joke, just the thought of Mark being sad and alone made him feel sad.
Jack miserably held a plastic bag of ice to the back of his head. He sighed, opening the door and holding it open for Ronnie.
"You're not gonna die from getting hit in the head by a basketball. It's okay, and it'll stop hurting in a few hours." Ronnie replied, shaking his head and closing the door behind him.
Jack lifted his free hand to the side of his head, "I could've died if it hit me in my temple."
It was the end of the school day finally, and they stood outside. It was 47 degrees out and despite the lack of green leaves growing on the trees, it was starting to feel a bit like spring.
Ronnie took in a deep breath, inhaling the semi-warm air. He looked down at his light purple vans and let the sleeves of his purple sweatshirt fall over his hands before glancing back at Jack who stood next to him. He spoke,
"Umm, so I went to the hospital the other day..."
"Really? God bless. Did you find out what was wrong?"
"Yeah.. except.." He bit his lip and smiled, "There's nothing wrong."
Jack frowned in confusion. "What do you mean?"
"I mean I've actually been sick because I'm having a baby. I'm pregnant..."
Jack's instantly hugged the other boy, gently rocking back and fourth. He was just happy that his friend was okay. And on the other hand was excited to eventually meet the baby and he was quite curious about how exactly pregnancy worked.
"Really? God bless! I'm so excited! My day is made!" He rambled excitedly.
Ronnie giggled, nodding slightly as he placed his hands on his belly, "Just don't tell anyone."
"Can I tell Mark? And my mommy?"
He nodded.
