Chapter 18

In the morning Dev got up quite early & left for home, he left a note for Vanessa. A lot of things had to be taken care off & primary being giving explanation to his best friend Shalini. He reached his place & slept for some time & then straight went to meet Shalini at her office. He had to wait until lunch to see her. When she walked out to meet him, she walked out on him, guess she was too upset. So Dev went behind her to convince her to listen to his explanation. 

Dev, "will you stop acting so strange & listen to me for once. I called you for lunch but then you had plans with Neeraj so what was I suppose to do, I also got busy."

Shalini, "Dev stop being such a jerk, you could have at least texted me about what was happening."

Dev, "that is the reason why I am here, so please stop acting so pricey & come with me for lunch, there is a lot that I want to share with you."

Shalini, "I think you owe me an apology, so I am waiting to hear a sorry from you so that I can finally say yes for lunch."

Dev, "OK you drama queen, I am sorry, now please there is a lot of interesting gossip which you are going to totally love (smiling)."

Shalini, "come on then, let's go"

They went for lunch & Dev told her everything about how bad his date with Parvati was & then everything that his father told him. He also told her that he was very sorry about his behaviour with her, after listening to his dad. 

Shalini, "totally dude, I agree with your dad. You so got to learn from him, such a great man he is."

Dev, "yeah, I definitely want to apologise to her but then she has blocked my number so I have no clue how I am going to do it."

Shalini, "hmm so then if you were not with her last night, where the hell were you?"

Dev, "I was with Vanessa."

Shalini, "who the f&$k is Vanessa (shocked)

Dev, "I met her at a restaurant & then we had dinner yesterday & then I also slept in her room."

Shalini (double shocked), "you f@&^er "

Dev, "relax & stop abusing."

Shalini, "no I don't want to.Here am worried about whats wrong with my best friend & there you are dating girls everyday & the most important thing, without me having a clue about it."

Dev bursted into a laughter looking at the reaction coming from Shalini.

Shalini, "don't you laugh Dev, I feel liking killing you (smiling)."

Dev, "go on, then you won't get to hear about a lot of other interesting things."

Shalini, "no, tell me now."

Dev, "Vanessa is such an amazing person & then there is also this third very interesting person, Kriti Shah."

Shalini, "what?? (baffled) What are you eating now a days? Mr. Dev Sinha dating three girls. Am I dreaming? Even in my dreams I never saw something like this & all I was ever hoping was for you to find one girl."

Dev, "yeah I am shocked myself but then as I have opened myself to this dating thing, I am getting a lot of connections & I am really not able to say no."

Dev & Shalini had a good long fun chat & then Shalini had to go back so she called him over for dinner to talk more because there was a lot to talk about. She insisted a lot for Dev to talk about last night with Vanessa but he refused & did not speak a word about it.
