Chapter 42

Pinky knocked the door & Dev opened it, he was busy cooking in the kitchen:

Dev, "hey, where is Shalini?"

Pinky, "she said she had some work, she won't be coming."

Dev, "what's wrong with her? Let me give her a call."

Pinky, "let it be Dev, I think she has some plans with Neeraj. We should not be disturbing them."

Dev, "hmm OK, I will speak with her tomorrow then."

Pinky, "yeah, so what special have you made for me?" (Asked him happily)

Dev, "that is a surprise, close your eyes, hold my hand, let me take you to the dining area." He led her in and got her seated. "Now you may open your eyes please."

Pinky was astonished & so happy to see the amazing set up Dev had done. He had arranged a beautiful candle light dinner for Pinky. He asked her to wait as he got some red wine, Cabernet Sauvignon vintage 2007. Followed by this amazing menu, which he managed to prepare quick. Dessert was the best (apple & blackberry crumble) sounds exotic but was so easy to make, poached apples dressed with honey laid on bed of biscuit crumbs, topped with vanilla ice cream & served with hot chocolate sauce poured on top. Magnificent & so posh, Pinky was more than impressed with this amazing skill. She had no words so she returned her gratitude by kissing him. Well this stirred up some passion between the two & an amazing evening was wrapping up inside a romantic night. All that reading had done him well, Dev was full of surprises & Pinky felt to be the most lucky girl in the world when Dev started to deliver his surprises one by one. The night then ended only to begin a new chapter in their lives. Next morning Dev woke up before her & headed to the kitchen again to cook some breakfast, another sweet surprise for Pinky. After having breakfast the pair planned for a day out, watching movie & shopping. Dev had no thought of anyone else except her. Somewhere in evening Dev got a call from Shalini:

Shalini, "where are you?"

Dev, "hey I am out with Pinky. Why didn't you come home yesterday for dinner, I had cooked such good dinner for the both of you."

Shalini, "did she not tell you what happened in the car?"

Dev, "what happened? All she told me was that you had plans with Neeraj."

Shalini, "that b&*^h."

Dev, "hey hey Shalini come on don't use that word for her."

Shalini, "shut up Dev, she is no good for you."

Dev, "Shalini please don't do this, don't you see how happy I am with her."

Shalini, "come home I will explain everything."

Dev, "no I can't we have plans, besides I did not like the word you used for her. I will talk to you later, I have to go now."

Shalini, "'get lost then, don't call me when she kicks you're a*^ don't you come crying to me then..." He disconnected the call.

Pinky asked him who was he speaking with because he looked upset, he ignored it by saying that it was something about work which he would deal with tomorrow.
