Chapter 20

As evening came, Dev got ready & headed to Kriti's place to pick her up. He reached there & gave her a call, telling her that he was waiting for her. She quickly came as she was all ready & waiting for him to come.

Kriti, "Dev, is that you?"

Dev, "yes, hello. What made you ask that? Do I look very different compared to my pics?"

Kriti, "kind of yes (laughs) I mean the real you looks great."

Dev, "in your case, I will say you are as gorgeous as in your pics. (smiles)"

Kriti, "oh thank you! I have a request, can you please step out of the car?"

Dev, "may I ask why?"

Kriti, "please just do it."

Dev, "OK" he stepped out of the car.

Kriti (with a big smile on her face), "OK cool. Now let's go."

Dev (perplexed), "what was that for?"

Kriti, "nothing much, let's go & have a great evening."

Dev, "hold on, like you made me do this weird thing right now & did not give me any explanation for it. I have something to share with you."

Kriti (a little worried), "Dev, why do you look so serious."

Dev, "relax it is nothing serious but then see I only expect you to understand this situation a little bit."

Kriti, "please tell me soon, I am very impatient."

Dev, "OK, so before we planned this evening I kind of had made a commitment to my best friend that I would go to her place for dinner today. When we planned it this particular thing had completely skipped my mind. I did try to convince her to push the dinner thing for some other day but then she did not agree & I really didn't wanted to make her feel disappointed."

Kriti (looked a little angry), "so what do you want me to do now?"

Dev, "can we go to her place instead of any pub. Her house is stacked with booze, she is fantastic at cooking, we can eat & you can drink how much ever you want and for all of this we don't have to spend anything and to top it up, she is very good at abusing so when you guys are high & you need company to abuse your boss, well you will have the best ever company known to me in that."

Kriti, "Dev, seriously. Dude this is really not done. You could have called & told me about this, I would had understood."

Dev, "well I could have lied to you or her to be with any one of you but then I choose to be honest with you, like I will be honest with her too."

Kriti, "what? So you mean that she has no clue that you are getting me to her place?"

Dev, "no."

Kriti, "f*&^ just get lost from here Dev before I hit you with something."

Dev, "kriti, please just trust me."

Kriti, "why should I trust you, I don't even know you."

Dev, "trust me because I am being honest, I am sure your gut feeling about me is all good."

Kriti, "I don't know but I am going to say yes to this because I have taken a lot of efforts to get dressed & I have no backups but the moment I feel this is not working out, dude I will walk out & you will drop me back home."

Dev, "for sure, done deal."

Kriti texted her sister about this that she was going out with Dev, she shared with her sister his picture too. This she did without Dev getting to know about it, she wanted to be very sure that his intentions were good. This is what she texted her sister, 'payal, I am going out with this guy I have met on Tinder, he looks good but then I don't want to take any chance so I will share with you the location where I will be. In case it gets to late & I don't call you, share these details with the cops. Don't worry, this is just to be cautious, my first ever Tinder date. Love you, TC.'
