Chapter 50

Days passed by very quickly & Dev spent most of his time preparing for the move & being with Shalini & his family. He had called his dad to come & stay with him for all the remaining time. Now every time that Shalini used to come to meet Dev, she used to also say a hello to Mrs. Mehra. One day when Shalini was at her place Mrs. Mehra shared something interesting with her:

Mrs. Mehra, "you know Shalini I had no clue that this guy Dev was such a good boy & so kind hearted. We used to always think he had a messed up lifestyle."

Shalini (in a surprised tone), "Dev & messed up lifestyle really? What part of his attitude or behavior made you think so about him?"

Mrs. Mehra, "he has always been so very reserved & hardly talks to anyone in this building. Never attends any social events. This made most of us think that something was definitely wrong & he was keeping dark secrets."

Shalini, "that is so lame, only because someone speaks less or keeps his life very private he/she is a bad person."

Mrs. Mehra, "well this is what everyone around here thinks but not me anymore, all thanks to you (smiling) but what I want to share is that when I had seen him for the very first time I had liked him a lot & found him so apt for my niece."

Shalini, "what do you mean?"

Mrs. Mehra, "I wanted to propose him for her, to get them married & then all my plans crashed when I heard the gossip about him."

Shalini laughed hearing this, "really? Oh poor Dev, he was not even aware about all this. So aunty what is the problem now, he is single & now you know that he is a very good boy who does not smoke, drink & probably is also a virgin. I am not sure about it now but yes probably he is." (still laughing)

Mrs. Mehra, "the problem is that my niece is now married. In fact she was ready to marry Dev, I had called her here to Mumbai, just to see Dev. She had agreed to marry him the day she saw him for the first time. After all any young girl would right? All because he is so handsome."

Shalini, "I wish I had met you before. Can I get your niece's number? I think I can get her a date with Dev."

Mrs. Mehra, "Shalini are you insane? She is married now."

Shalini, "just for fun sake please I want to play this prank on Dev."

Mrs. Mehra, "no ways, you have lost your mind."

They both laughed about this crazy chat & there Dev had no clue what he had got saved from but who knows if he is still safe.
