Chapter 51

It was only two days now for Dev to leave, everything he needed was packed. Shalini planned for a grand evening dinner for Dev & his family at her place. She had invited Rajat & Sangeeta as well, Shalini was quite curious to meet Rajat as she had heard so much about him from Dev & he was the reason to bring about all the change in Dev. No surprises, she did find Rajat extremely charming & impressive. Rajat had that mature handsome look which was kind off a big attraction for most young girls around him. Everyone was having a great time talking to each other, Rajat asked Dev to walk along with him to the balcony as he wanted to talk to him alone:

Rajat, "hey Dev I want you to know that I am so proud of you son on having this achievement & most of all I want to thank you for giving me the honor of being a part of your life, your success & your challenges."

Dev, "of course Rajat you are family for me. You have helped me overcome a lot."

Rajat hugged him, "always there for you son." (he had tears in his eyes) "I am a tough man Dev, just like you but today I have tears in my eyes."

Dev, "thanks for everything Rajat."

Rajat, "you don't have to thank me son, I only did what any guardian will do for his child. By the way your mother told me about the breakup. I felt bad, she was a special girl Dev but not the last to come in your life."

Dev, "I don't know Rajat if I can love someone, feels like she took away all the love that I could offer."

Rajat, "oh come on Dev, I know it was special but it is never up to us how much & how we would fall in love. Love is a lot of power Dev, it is alive & has a mind of its own. It walks in our lives in the least expected moments & lifts us up from our broken states. Right now son you are broke within but trust me it is not the end. Love is not done with you yet. Have hope, it is good to live in hope because we are living people."

Dev (smiling), "the way you speak Rajat, you can make me believe anything that you speak. For that matter even 19 dates ha ha. Can't believe that I actually was starting to believe in it."

Rajat, "oh yeah that, I leave that upon the magic of 19 dates (laughing)."

Dev, "enough of love, magic & all the other fairy tales. In life things work very different."

Rajat, "all fairy tales are inspired by the reality that bows down to the will, courage & fate of extra ordinary people. Again, all your doubts & despair take me back to the past, how I was. (smiling)."

Dev, "and you make me realize how incomplete I am for everything I want to be, you are."

Rajat, "really? Son you are much more than I will ever be."

5 years from this day is what the next chapter will be.
