Shalini reached the restaurant where she used to meet Dev for lunch every time, Dev was already waiting there:

Shalini, "so Mr. Romeo how do you feel after getting dumped."

Dev, "I am trying to get over it, Shalini for goodness sake let's not talk about it. There is something very important that I want to discuss with you."

Shalini, "yeah go on, I am listening."

Dev, "I am thinking of taking up a full time job."

Shalini, "seriously Dev? You want to work full time? It is f&^%*@g unbelievable man. Dev I will check for openings in my company right away dude. I always wanted to work with you in the same office, just like we used to go to school."

Dev, "hey hey, hold your horses please. I have an offer from a company in London & the package & the position that they are ready to offer is very enticing."

Shalini, "no ways dude. Why do you want to leave all of us & your peaceful happy life?"

Dev, "I agree with you, life is very peaceful & all you people only make it better for me but then at least for a couple of years I want to challenge myself & see how well I can fare."

Shalini, "looks like you have decided for yourself then. What do you want to hear from me?"

Dev, "you are the first person with whom I am sharing this Shalini. Dad, mom & Rajat are yet to know about this decision. I want to know from you if this is good for me & for all you people."

Shalini, "Dev anything that makes you happy dude makes me happy too. If this is coming from your heart, go for it. If you ask me to be selfish, I will never want you to leave my sight."

Dev, "aren't you the sweetest thing ever. You know that no matter where I go Shalini, I will always keep in touch. There is nothing in this world that would stop me from connecting with you on Skype every single day."

Shalini, "yeah yeah, go on if the offer is so good & you want it from all your heart. I will keep taking trips to London to come & see you often."

Dev, "thank you sweetheart, I love you so very much. Now I got to speak with dad, mom & Rajat about this."

Shalini, "by when do you join."

Dev, "next month 12th, a lot of things to be taken care of."

Shalini, "that is awfully close dude."

They had some more conversation about it over a good lunch, Dev accompanied her to the office & while on the way spoke to the other family members about his decision. Well Rajat was all in right at the first go itself but Dev's mom & dad took some time to process the news. After a couple of days everyone was in sync about Dev taking up this job.
