19 Dates

Chapter 32

Dev was exhausted & he was lost in his sleep when he got this feeling that he was drowning in water. Feeling of this very chilled water all over him, his fear pulled him out of the sleep as he woke up screaming for help. He gathered his senses & saw Shalini standing in front of him with an empty bucket & finally all made sense to him. Shalini had poured a whole bucket of cold water on him to wake him up from his slumber.

Dev (angry & loud), "have you lost your mind."

Shalini, "you are f&^$ing right I have. I have been missing you like crazy & here you are sleeping like a pig."

Dev, "crazy women, I have not slept the whole night. Didn't dad tell that to you?"

Shalini, "aww, I am so sorry I did not wake you dad up to ask him that."

Dev, "dad is still asleep? what time is it?"

Shalini, "it is 8:00 a.m. & you have to drive me down to work."

Dev, "what 8:00 a.m.? that means I have slept only for 3 hours. Shalini please get lost from here, I am in no condition to drive."

Shalini, "don't make me pour another bucket of water on you Dev. Get you're a*& out of that bed & get dressed I am getting late for work."

Dev, "come on Shalini please try & understand."

Shalini, "I don't care Dev darling. Now please, you owe me a birthday treat, you got to tell me where the hell you were the whole night & all of this for saving you a&^ that day when you got Kriti home. (with a sarcastic smile on her face)"

Dev, "all right you blackmailing b*&^h."

Shalini, "oh that is such a sweet word Dev darling, I am outside waiting for you, don't get me late."

Dev went to freshen up while Shalini was waiting for him in the living area. He got ready quick & then they left for her office. While on that way:

Shalini, "I have not seen you so pissed off in a very long time now (laughing)"

Dev, "I am sorry about that, sorry for calling you the B word."

Shalini, "are you nuts to apologise? I am one & I am proud to be."

Dev, "you are one crazy women (laughing)"

Shalini, "yeah yeah, so tell me where were you last night?"

Dev, "oh yeah, I was suppose to tell you that. I met Rajat yesterday to talk to him about mom. Shalini I must tell you he is one amazing guy. I mean he explained things really well, everything I was so ignorant about for all this time, he has helped me to overcome this bitterness I had in my heart. I am able to confine in him Shalini."

Shalini, "hmm interesting, if he has been successful in making Mr. Dev Sinha trust him, I am sure the guy has talent. I want you to introduce me to him."

Dev, "yeah I will and then there is this crazy thing we spoke about."

Shalini, "what's that now?"

Dev, "19 dates"

Shalini (amazed), "what the f*&^ is that?"

Dev told Shalini about the 19 dates story which he had heard from Rajat & she was amazed & impressed to hear it. She told Dev that he should totally go for it but Dev said no, just as he said no to Rajat. In the mean while they had reached Shalini's office, she left but asked Dev to stay close & to meet again for lunch.
