Chapter 39

They reached Shalini's place, she opened the door:

Shalini, "classic, there you go, another date you decide to bring to my place without me having a clue about who it is." She looked at Pinky and said, "I am sorry, please don't be offended but I am pissed at this totally idiotic friend of mine."

Pinky, "I get it, that's OK. I will wait till you guys finish."

Dev, "before you start abusing me, first let us in & by the way she is not my date. She is our friend Pinky who had left for US 19 years back (now he suddenly realized that it had been 19 years, a 19 date theory connection, but he gave it a rest at that moment). "yeah, so I was saying, how can you not remember Pinky?"

Shalini, "I absolutely remember her but you think I am just going to be friends with her again. Where the f*&^ was she for all these years. Why the f&^% she never bothered connecting on social media?"

Pinky, "Shalini I am really sorry about that but trust me I wanted to but then something within held me back. I wanted to meet you guys the way I had left, back then it was a mega surprise so I wanted it to be now. Unfortunately it was just a stupid thing to do, did not really turn out to be what I had thought. Please forgive me."

Dev, "yes, please forgive her. (with a sweet smile)"

Shalini, "Dev don't be an as*&^le (she was interrupted by Neeraj)

Neeraj, "hey hey, who is getting to listen to all the bad words from my sweet girlfriends mouth, for a change it is not me (laughing)"

Dev, "hey Neeraj, what's up man & who else could it be?"

Neeraj, "haha Dev I apologize on her behalf & I see you have a pretty lady along with you."

Dev, "yeah meet our childhood friend Pinky. Shalini is actually upset with her but I am getting all the bad words."

Neeraj, "hello Pinky, I am Neeraj, Shalini's boyfriend."

Pinky, "Hi Neeraj, please help us here. Please calm her down (smiling)

Neeraj, "hey sweetheart (before he could say a word any further)

Shalini, "you stay out of this (in a stern tone) & the both of you let's sort this out over lunch, I am starving. All these stupid things Dev dose gets me dam hungry."

Everyone had a smile on their faces as they proceeded inside. Neeraj told Dev that Shalini shared with him about the 19 dates thing & how exciting it sounded.

Like always Shalini's anger only lasted for a very little time, they all had a very good time conversing. A lot of childhood memories shared. Shalini spoke the most with Pinky & Dev and Neeraj looked at them totally surprised how well they were getting along, specially Shalini, as if nothing had happened & as if she was never upset.
