Chapter 31 (part 4)

Dev, "who?"

Rajat, "Suzan was my a^%h*&$ neighbours daughter. One day I was relaxing at home on an off day when she knocked the door of my room. I was staying all alone in China, & often off days were spent home. All I did was sit at home & read books from my great collection. I opened the door & seeing her I asked her if everything was fine because her dad was a real trouble maker. She said all was OK, she needed to borrow some sugar. I invited her into the house & went into the kitchen to get some sugar, when I returned with it, she was not there. On my desk where I had placed my book, I found a note. It was from her & in that note she had written 'I love you' but this was not the exciting part, she had written it for 19 times (laughing) which got me stunned. I finally gave in to what this number 19 was trying to convince me and my journey began with Suzan. I dated 19 most amazing girls, each left me a life lesson to built up on but one made me fall in love with her & how glad I am, that I did."

Dev, "bravo, remarkable. One crazy story you have for yourself Rajat. Someday I would like to hear from you about each of your dating adventures."

Rajat, "yes we will talk about that, but the whole point of telling all of this to you is that I want you to go for 19 dates. It will change your prospective about love & companionship Dev."

Dev (laughing), "what? This is the time where I tell you, you need to rest. It's too late & you are too drunk."

Rajat, "no no, I am not drunk anymore, trust me Dev you need to try this."

Dev, "no ways. It is a good story & I am glad it workout for you but I don't believe in fairy tales Rajat."

Rajat, "this is no fairy tale. But then forget it, I don't want to convince you about this. You saying no to this reminds me of the days when I had said no to it. I leave it on the number 19 to convince you about this (laughing)."

Dev, "don't be crazy, numbers convince me about nothing except the green (with a smile on his face)."

Rajat kept babbling for a while & then passed out. Dev helped him up on the bed & waited for the morning. With the first light in the sky he was off to his place. He was not in a condition to face Sangeeta. He reached home, check on his dad & then went off to sleep.
