Chapter 41 (part 2)

Dev (stammering, trying very hard not to cry), "hmm I get it, I get it, I completely understand this. no worries, I will be home. Will cook something good, you guys can eat home, get Shalini as well."

Pinky (smiling), "come here you dumbo, come & kiss me."

Dev, "what?"

She walked towards Dev & hugged him, "I can't stay more than a month, you know my return tickets are booked but I totally feel the same about you. I want to come back for you Dev, let's make this thing happen. Now will you please kiss me?"

Dev was happy beyond measure, it was for the very first time that he was about to kiss but then trust me, he did it in the most perfect way. When someone returned from the rest room, seeing all this she got the shock of her life:

Shalini, "what the f&^* is going on here?"

Dev (smiling & blushing), "oh Shalini, I just told Pinky about how special she is to me."

Shalini, "special? What are you guy retarded? What the f&^% is special?"

Pinky, "haha chill Shalini, it is something in between or rather a roadway to reach there."

Shalini, "you guys are lunatics. Look at all the attention you guys have got. Pinky you are not in States & Dev you bozo, come on now let's leave from here."

There were couple of teenage kids cheering around for them but then all of it was not bad at all, it was so romantic, I have no clue what Shalini was so pissed off about. They left the mall, Dev headed back to Rajat's car while Shalini & Pinky left in Shalini's car. Rajat asked Dev if it went well:

Dev, "could not had been any more perfect." (Dev told him everything, exactly the way it had happened) Rajat was overjoyed & very happy for Dev, Dev asked him to drop him home. On the way Shalini was grumbling & telling Pinky that Dev was a very honest simple guy & if she was doing all this for fun sake then it was totally the wrong thing to do.

Pinky, "Shalini I absolutely understand your concerns here but then we both feel the same for each other. We want to take our time to analyze how it goes for the both of us. What is so wrong in it? Dev is an adult and he can decide for himself."

Shalini, "he definitely is but then I also know that he has fallen in love with you. You might not be sure about it but I can tell this because I know him & understand him better than anyone else. If it does not work for you, you will get out of it without being hurt but you will leave him completely broken. Let me tell you this that you have molded his heart of sand into a heart of glass now, if it shatters, gathering those pieces alone will leave him wounded & cut. Probably too wounded to be healed."

Pinky, "Shalini I respect your concern for him but then I like him, I can't back off thinking it won't work out. As far as I am concerned I want to spend the rest of my life with him & for that if we are taking sometime to understand each other I think there is nothing wrong with that."

Shalini, "OK girl but if you hurt him. I will hurt you. I can't ever see him broken or his heart losing faith in love & friendship." They reached Dev's place.

Pinky, "I don't appreciate you talking to me in such a way but then I know it is out of concern. By the way you are invited in for dinner."

Shalini, "f*&^ that." She dropped pinky at Dev's place at left for home.
