That night marked a new beginning in Dev's life, Rajat had helped him find answers to the questions which had been disturbing him for a very long time now. He felt a sense of freedom within when he decided to end the hatred he had for his mother & when he discovered that Rajat was a good human being. With much joy from this achievement & a little nervousness about not upsetting Dev, Rajat said something that he was very much interested in.
Rajat, "you know Dev, I always wanted to have a son but when I saw you & got to know you for the very first time, I was glad because I saw a son in you. Even more because your attitude & personality reminded me of how I was back then."
Dev, "I definitely respect your words but help me understand in what ways I remind you of yourself."
Rajat, "as a young man, my only desire & sense of accomplishment was in achieving success which would help me live a life with no consideration for price tags but only happiness. I never wanted to share my life with another person because I was self sustained & I feared & hated the betrayal and dishonesty all around me."
Dev, "this is very weird. Have you been spying on me?"
Rajat (laughing), "no no, all this information came from your mother. Who apparently knows you so well. One thing I will confess that when she told me about your plan of stating single all your life. I reacted spontaneously & told her 'no, I will talk to Dev about this'" "I saw you taking the very same path as mine."
Dev, "this somehow I am finding awkwardly amusing."
Rajat, "my apologies to make you feel awkward but I have always been wanting to have this conversation with you. Makes me feel so much like I am talking to my very own son."
Dev (laughing), "Rajat, looks like you have had more drinks then you usually do."
Rajat (laughing), "to be very frank yes but I am also drunk on happiness."
Dev, "OK OK, looks like you cannot drive home by yourself, so let's park your car in your office parking. I will drive you home in my car."
Rajat agreed & then Dev was driving Rajat back home, while on the way, Rajat opened up an interesting conversation about his 19 Dates.
