19 Dates

Chapter 40

All the days Pinky stayed there with Dev, they spent an amazing time together. A lot between them was common & a lot was different but all the similarities & differences within that one week were playing the most beautiful magic, something that we all know as love was happening. It was too soon, may be not true or who knows if it was false but it made Dev feel like a new person, much like the transformation that had started in him after Rajat's talks was getting completed with this new attachment he had developed for Pinky. For Pinky Dev was the most perfect person ever, she had never met someone like him before. A selfless individual who was formed by the pain in his life & who had decided to transform choosing forgiveness & choosing to trust again.

It was growing very strong within Dev to tell Pinky how he felt about her, she on the other hand was still not very sure if it was love or just respect for Dev as a person. Dev really had no clue about how this was done, he was not really thinking of proposing her but at least telling her that she was special for him. After giving a lot of thought to it, there was only one person he thought would help him, so he gave him a call:

Dev, "hey Rajat, hope I am not disturbing you?"

Rajat, "of course not my boy, tell me how you remembered this old man."

Dev, "can I meet you?"

Rajat, "yeah of course, but I hope all is well?"

Dev, "yeah yeah, just that I needed your advice about something."

Rajat, "OK, come home this evening. Let's have a drink together, I mean you can sip on the red bull (laughing)"

Dev, "haha, sure I will be there by 8:00"

So Dev went over to Rajat's place, met his mom. Sangeeta was very happy to see him, he sat with her, had dinner:

Rajat, "so Dev what I remember, you wanted to talk to me about something right?"

Dev, "yeah but then definitely not in front of mom (almost blusing)"

Rajat , "hmm Sangeeta, can you please excuse us? I think I know what Dev wants to talk to me about. (smiling)"

Sangeeta, "Dev is everything OK son? (in a worried tone)"

Dev, "mom relax, it is just a financial advice I want from him. Something professional which I don't want you to be bothered about."

Sangeeta, "OK, I will leave you guys alone. She hugged Dev, kissed him & headed to her room."

Rajat, "what I see in your eyes is that 19 dates has started to play its game (laughing)"

Dev, "yeah your weird theory is kind of working but then I think it won't take 19 dates for me to realize about love. I think much before, even reaching the mid way, I have kind off started to like a girl."

Rajat (excited), "really? Actually it is not suppose to work this way but then chuck it, I am glad that this has happened. So who is this lucky girl?"

Dev told Rajat everything about Pinky & also shared with him that he wanted to tell Pinky that she was really special to him.

Rajat, "clearly you are in love, I think without wasting anytime just go & tell her all that you feel about her. Where is she right now?"

Dev, "she has gone for shopping with our common friend Shalini but then I don't really know if she feels the same about me."

Rajat, "well no man can ever be a 100% sure about that, only men who dare can win the heart of a lady."

Dev, "so what are you saying?"

Rajat, "let's go right now. Tell her how you feel about her before you are even a second late, because there is no waiting, no thinking when you have someone stuck in your heart & when you want them to be there forever."

Dev (shocked), "now? Are you saying this because you are drunk?"

Rajat, "haha, no I am saying this because I have done this."

Dev, "oh my God, help me come clean out of this. I know this is the stupidest thing I have ever done in my life but then I want to do this. Rajat can you please come along with me? I think you being there will help my moral a lot."

Rajat, "of course I am coming, let's go."
