Chapter 45

In moments after he read this message a very strange feeling took over, a feeling of your greatest fear coming to life. This seemed to be like death because Dev was struggling to see some hope, some light in that moment but everything was dark & hopeless. The love he needed the most was gone, after sitting in his chair for a few moments he got up & went out. Trust me he wanted to cry but then tears were not flowing out, he wanted to scream but it felt as if all power was taken away from his body. He kept walking towards the garden that was close to his house, entered in & sat on a bench there thinking about what just happened. He wished this to be a horrible bad dream but then this was a sad tragic reality. After spending some moments all alone there, when the feeling for the love he had in her gone had sunken deeper in his heart, finally tears rolled down his cheeks. He cried bitterly & wished the pain to leave but then it would not. He cried for as long as he could & then returned home.

Nothing would change with tears, reality would remain the same he spoke to himself, dressed up to go to work. He spent a very normal day at work, whenever he would stop working or take a break the memories of all the good times he had spent with Pinky would return. With no help in the past he was successful in convincing himself that his mom had left him, so was his mind preparing him to think now. "I don't need to share this with anyone, I will live my way out of it" this is what he told himself. That day passed & a couple of more after that, then a few more. His dad would ask him about Pinky & all he would say was that she was perfectly fine. Mr. Sinha sensed something was not right so he decided to call Shalini one day:

Mr. Sinha, "hello Shalini, hope I am not disturbing you dear."

Shalini, "come on uncle, please no formalities. You can call me anytime but why suddenly today? Hope all is well?"

Mr. Sinha, "yeah sweetheart all well with me but something is not right with Dev, you know anything about him & Pinky?"

Shalini, "not really, actully uncle it has been quite a few days I last spoke to him. We had some misunderstanding because of which we are not talking." Shalini felt guilty right now about ignoring Dev.

Mr. Sinha, "you both, when will you ever grow up but Shalini I need this favour from you. Please try & find out what is happening. I feel Dev is in terrible pain but he is hiding it & also trying to fight it out all by himself."

Shalini, "don't you worry uncle I will go & meet him today & see whats happening with him. Expect my call tomorrow morning."
