Chapter 48

After Shalini left, everything she spoke made Dev feel much relived. Of course not that all his sorrows & memories of Pinky had gone but then admits all hopelessness he did feel some hope. The confidence that someone understood the situation he was in & to know that a friend stands by him in all circumstances gave him a lot of courage. He called his dad & told him everything about the break up, Mr. Sinha was worried about him but then Dev told him there was nothing to worry about because he could deal with it, all he wanted from his dad was his blessings & prayers. Later in the afternoon he went to Shalini's office, met her & apologised for his behaviour:

Dev, "hey I am so sorry for being a jerk."

Shalini, "chill dude it is OK, nothing compared to all the infliction from me that you have gone through (laughing)."

Dev, "yeah thanks for mentioning, I take my apology back (smiling)."

Shalini, "shut up & treat me with lunch."

Dev, "cool, I will see you at the same place by 1:00. Now please go and get some work done."

Shalini, "very funny, you f*&^$%g lazy ass don't talk about work. Get lost now."

Dev, "why don't you start brushing each morning with harpic."

Shalini, "Dev please leave before I punch you & you very well know I can (laughing)

Dev, "OK OK I am leaving."

After he left Shalini's office he called up Rajat but Rajat was busy so he could not answer. Dev called up his mom:

Sangeeta, "Dev, son, how are you?"

Dev, "hey mom, I am good. How are you?"

Sangeeta, "I am fine. Your dad & Rajat told me about this very special girl you are dating."

Dev, "oh yeah, I called you to tell about that."

Sangeeta, "yeah sure, tell me if I can do something to help."

Dev, "well I am not with Pinky any more, it did not work out for her family but I am absolutely fine. You please don't worry."

Sangeeta, "her family?"

Dev, "yeah her family has already seen someone for her & she does not want to go against their choice for whatever reasons but then I am fine with it."

Sangeeta, "I know you are not fine. You always try your best to be & then with time you succeed but in the process Dev you stop believing in the fact that some people in your life really love you a lot."

Dev, "no mom relax, that won't happen with me now. A lot has changed for me mom, in fact I called you to tell you about this break up because I want the special people in my life to know about my life."

Sangeeta, "that is one of the bravest & a very wise thing you decided to do my son. I just want you to know that no matter what happens Dev I will always be standing by your side. "

Dev, "thanks mom & I love you. I will call soon TC."
