Chapter 41 (part 1)

Rajat drove him down to the mall where Pinky & Shalini were, Dev was nervous. Rajat gave him a little pep talk:

Rajat, "hey Dev I know the feeling wants to hold you back, son no matter what the consequences you got to tell yourself that you have a great chance here. So all of this for the chance of having love."

Dev, "wooo, let's do this. He called Pinky."

Pinky, "hey Dev."

Dev, "hey Pinky, where are you?"

Pinky, "in the mall with Shalini."

Dev, "I mean where exactly, I am here too. I have something to tell."

Pinky, "hey what happened? Is everything OK?"

Dev, "yeah all well. I just want to talk to you."

Pinky, "OK, come on the second floor, I am right outside the rest room waiting for Shalini."

Dev, "alright be right there."

Rajat waited in the car for Dev, Dev headed inside & saw Pinky waiting for him:

Dev, "hey"

Pinky, "well there you are. What happened?"

Dev, "see what I am about to tell you is something I totally mean. Please be honest when you reply & don't stop being my friend. I will take your reply in the most positive way."

Pinky got a bit nervous listing to this, she was not exactly ready but then she was not very sure as well that Dev was about to say what she was thinking.

Pinky, "Dev, tell me what is it?"

Dev, "all this time that we have been together, everything that I know about you doesn't leave me even when you are not around. Never felt this way about anyone else, I have been absolutely honest with you about all the recent dating experiences & being single for such a long time. Nothing matches to the feeling that I have for you, it's like, I try to think about other things but then I fail and it is you again. Can you please be with me till you can? I don't know if you want too but I am just saying that I want it."

Pinky (with a big smile on her face), "oh my God Dev, you are so sweet."

Dev (blushing), "will you stay?"

Pinky, "no I can't stay."

Dev's face lost all the charm that had picked up because of the expectation he had about hearing a yes from Pinky.
