It was 2 o'clock and school was about to end in an hour- and they also decided it was time for the nurse to give shots.
I hated needles. They scared me and they burned too.
My close friend Gordie Lachance was standing behind me and we talked to calm each others nerves. He didn't like needles either, but he wasn't as scared of them like me.
The nurse called my name and my blood ran cold.
"(y/f/n) (y/l/n)"
"Good luck, (y/n)." Gordie said, smiling reassuringly.
"Um.. Gordie? Will you please come with me?" I asked shyly.
"Oh, sure." He smiled and we walked back in the nurses room.
"Mr. Lachance? I didn't call you yet." The nurse said, prepping a needle filled with the medicine.
"Nurse Lothario, (a/n I just made that up haha), is it okay if he stays back here with me while I get my shot?" I said, trying to sound as sweetly as I could manage.
"I guess so. Sit down."
I sat down in the metal chair and Gordie pulled up a chair in front of me.
He smiled again. "It'll be okay, (Y/N)."
I smiled back as Nurse Lothario began to rub down my arm with an alcohol pad.
"Ready?" She asked.
I nodded, closing my eyes.
"Hey, (Y/N)?" Gordie asked.
I opened my eyes and suddenly Gordie leaned in and gave me a short, sweet peck on the lips.
My eyes widened once he pulled away.
"All done, honey." Nurse Lothario said smiling.
"Huh?" I looked at my arm to see a bandage on top of the shot place.
"I didn't even feel it! Thank you, sweet, sweet Gordie!" I gushed, getting up and hugging his thin frame. His face was blushed red once I pulled away.
"Your turn, Lachance."
I did the same to him. I guess a kiss numbs everything for a second or two.

Speaking of shots, once, I got this one and right after I felt like a rush of energy, as if I could do anything, then two hours later I was fast asleep. I don't remember what it was called but its one of those health ones you're required to get and just
