Late Night Dinners - Mayuri

I looked around as I stood on top of a roof while citizens were below trying to find a way to get to me. I lowered my spiritual pressure so that I would be able to sneak up on him and mark him. The spirit, Deblahblah, is hiding his presence really well – even going to the extent to make it seem like he's in a general area, rather than one exact spot. I felt the urge to pull out my walkie-talkie and eavesdrop on the potential conversation that the girls could possibly be having, but I couldn't take my mind off how many late night dinners Dalia and I was going to have once I caught this creature. I tried to suppress the physical smile growing on my face, but it seemed like my body would not listen to me in this matter – I would have get better control of it in the future.

The Spirit's presence spikes 50m north of me and immediately I Shun-po over to the house where it spiked, only to find more spirit zombies standing around – they hadn't noticed me yet.

I focused hard to see if it was anywhere near here. It was radiating near two specific houses that stood tall. I leaped over to the one house in front of them and debated the likelihood of which one he could be in. I would only get one chance, because it was almost obvious that the other one would be filled with spirit zombies I couldn't kill and they would alert him to where I was.

The first building was taller than most around the area, and it seemed almost like the obvious choice – but I could tell that he would not be in that one. He would want as many spirit zombies to attack me in a closed space as possible; that building would definitely make sure of that – there were few windows and the windows that were there, were as small as my torso. After several minutes of waiting to see if anything would leave either of the buildings, I finally resign to going into the other – much smaller – house.

I think about sneaking, but just decide on barging in the good ol' way. I lifted my foot when I got to the front door and kick the door open. A howling screech attacks my cone resonators as the door swung open. Startled, I pull my sword out of its hilt and slash through a curtain that a spirit zombie threw to try and throw me off.

The spirit zombie attempts to tackle me and knock me off my feet but I was able to quickly counter wordlessly casting a Sai. He fell to the floor with the ropes tied around him tightly. I scan the area quickly and find that I'm in the living room. On my right is a staircase and on the left is the kitchen.

My spiritual pressure still masked, I quietly dashed up the stairs and surveyed the area here. 2 bedrooms and a bathroom.

I debated where he could be hiding. The bathroom would be the more sensible choice, but even I knew that he wouldn't fall for it... or would he?

A low chuckle came from down the hall near the bathroom, in a room that was directly across the bathroom.

I resisted busting into the room as I slowly nudged it up enough to be able to hear him more clearly. It was singing a very off tune song. Curious, I pulled a mirror out of my pocket so I could catch an idea of what to expect. I angled the small mirror at the bottom edge of the door frame. I got a clear reflection of the spirit in the bathtub, surrounded and playing in a bubble bath.

Creak!

I looked around at the odd sound. It sounded like a rickety stair step, which means that the minions had figured out where I was or were just merely patrolling the place. I decided I would attack quickly and bursted the door down with a Sai. The spirit gave a ghastly screech as the door slammed into him.

"ONE! hehehe." I wasted no time as I grabbed a tube from within my sleeve and tossed it at Debloom. The tube bursted after crashing into the door and released and purple acid onto the test subject. I made sure that it wasn't a harmful substance or something that could have potentially changed his atoms. So calling it an acid is just for my delightful pleasure.

"Two!" Deboob continued to squirm like a worm under the door as I landed on top of it.

"Wa-wait!" Debauche tried to reason.

"Tooo Late!" My grin spread from ear cone to ear cone as I sliced across the top of his mask, making a deep gash.

He began to whine under the door." Wahh, this isn't far! I thought this would last much longer." I looked at the door to see the zombie-spirits, turning back to normal and passing out on the floor.

I rolled my eyes and sat down on the nearby toilet." You shouldn't think so highly of yourself. The moment I heard you singing, I knew you weren't going to put up much fight."

"Then maybe, another game - double the stakes." It giggled underneath the door.

I rose my eyebrow in curiosity, but immediately put it back in place. Remembering that Dalia was inside a birdcage at the entrance of the town." Though that would stimulate an eagerness to collect more test subjects. I'm going to assume Dalia doesn't want me to....... bid on her freedom again. Let alone being gone so long." I felt my cheeks heat up as the thought of her waiting for me filled my thoughts.

"May-kun! Thank goodness you're back! I was really worried!" She'll say as the bird cage disappears and she runs to hug me as I'm dragging Debobo by the neck.

I turn away from the spirit and casually touch my warm cheeks." She's going to be so happy with me. Ahh~ Late night dinners." I cleared my throat and turned around.

"Tis really creepy when ju du dat man." He was referencing my pep talk, but I shrugged it aside. What would a test subject know about creepy monologues.

I pulled out a glass flask and flipped the top open with my thumb." Just hurry up and make yourself fit in this container. I'll deal with you and your smartass comments later."

"Tch. Jas no dat as soon as ju let jur guard down, I'm commin' for ju."

"Yea, yea. Just get in the bottle, but I try my electro-intensity project on you right now." I growled. He yelped and immediately went into the bottle.

I closed the top, shook the bottle to incur screams and put it into my Captain's sleeve pocket.

"Mayuri-sama. Mayuri-sama, are you there?"  My walkie sounded out.

It was Nemu. I grab the walkie quickly." What do you want."

"I was successful in breaking out Ms. Shihoin from the cage. Akon and I have proceeded in providing proper passage back to the Research Institute."

Hearing that, irritated me - the ONE TIME they're useful after 10 and I don't want them to be. So much for my evil scientist's welcome... " Bah, you all are useless. I've already defeated Dequeef and secured him into a container."

"Ah, it was my fault sir. Nemu came to me and I tried to hold off on breaking her own." Akon's annoying voice came into the conversation.

"Bah, useless - both of you! If I find one hair out of place on Dalia, I'm putting you both as two week test subjects."

There was no response so that meant that understood. Mildly disappointed in how I had expected to pull Dalia off her feet (is that the right phrase? *Requires more research.), it turned out to be a small bust.

A big smile creeped to my face." But those late night dinners though."
