I sat waiting impatiently, clicking my curving nails on the lab counter top. I had sent Nemu's useless ass to go get Dalia. It felt like it had been an hour but it had only been 20 minutes. By my calculations, Nemu and Dalia would be walking in any second now.

The door behind me swiped open. I stood up, but my mind blanked for a moment. I didn't feel her warm presence standing in the doorway. Just Nemu's, where was she? Was she standing me up again, just like that day?

"Where is she, Nemu?" Something began to well up inside of me. It felt like some sort of rage.

"Captain Mayuri, Captain Byakuya interceded with my collection of Crowned Princess Dalia due to her noble duties." Nemu responded. "She attempted to put it off, but he insisted and took her toward the Kuchiki residency."

I  slammed my fist down onto the lab counter, causing several things to fly and crash. I finally understood that word I found the other day, jealous. Byakuya had literally done everything he possibly could to keep Dalia and I from seeing or even speaking to each other in private, since she had returned from the human world.

I was beyond jealous that his jealously was successfully keeping Dalia away from me." I am going to use his zanpakto as my toothpick!"

I finally turned around to look at Nemu. She flinched slightly, afraid of what I would do to her but all I could think about was what I was going to do to Byakuya. I debated going through my drawer of deadly viruses or maybe even using my own zanpakto to poison and kill him in the worst way possible.

My mind furled into a frenzy as I moved around the lab, picking out some of the most deadliest things I had acquired over the centuries of my research. I sat them all down by my Flask and Vials Set and began to make a concoction that would make Byakuya suffer for the rest of his Spirit Life.

"Mayuri-taicho." Akon's voice called out to me. Sometime before Nemu had slipped out and Akon had stepped in. When I get tangled in my projects they end up standing there for a couple of hours sometimes.

"Akon, if this isn't important, I'm putting you in this flask next." I warned him as I furiously mixed in the poisonous Ricin.

"The Crowned Princess sent a messenger saying that she would love to have late lunch with you and talk project details at 2 in the afternoon, if your schedule is open." Akon attempted to play the part of refined messenger, but I wasn't amused. He dropped the act. "She said meet her at 2 by the First District Gate to eat and talk about the project. Byakuya won't let her leave her lessons till she finishes."

"Alright." I stopped mixing the poisonous mixture. "Go back to her and tell her, don't let anyone follow her or try to come with her."

"She... uh... she said the same thing, Taicho. She said you have to answer some questions for her." Akon cleared his throat. "Well, I'm going to go check on the status of the Decompressing Suit."

Akon closed the sliding door behind  him, leaving me alone. My mind wheeled from what she could possibly want to ask me. My mind darted to her dad and what he could have told her and then there was also Unohana. She stabbed Dalia already.

Just what was Dalia going to ask me? I put away the newly made dangerous concoction for another day. If Byakuya interfered again, it would be waiting for him.
