I'm so sorry for how long it's taken me to update, I've just had no inspiration for writing this rn but I tried with this chapter and I hope you enjoy.
9. Rowan
"What are you doing here?" Austin asks in surprise.
"I have a proposition" I say "Can I come in?" I ask and he nods, opening his front door wider, allowing me to step inside. I walk in, and towards his living room, sitting down on his couch. He sits down beside me, and rubs his nose.
"What's this proposition?" I ask.
"Harry and I are leaving tomorrow for a small vacation and if you want to keep Amelia, I'll let you" I cross my legs.
"Really?" He asks.
"Yes" I nod.
"And your hubby is okay with this?" He asks, his tone condescending.
"Austin, don't make me change my mind. I don't need your smart mouth" I point a stern finger at him.
"It was just a question" He raises his hands in defense "I really do want to" He admits, a small smile on his face "It'll be great"
"He doesn't know" I tell him "I'll get my mom to drop her off here because he thinks she's staying with my mom, understood?" I ask and he nods. I stand up from his couch, looking down at him before I leave "So help me god, if you make him find out she's with you, I'll make sure you never see me or her again"
"Wouldn't dream of it Princess" He taunts, and I walk out of his house, driving back to mine. I walk inside, seeing Harry had already packed my bags and set them by the door, and I pick up my suitcase, going through it to see what he packed for me. I run up the steps and grab an extra outfit, something I always do just in case and run it back down to my suitcase. I stuff it inside and walk into Amelia's room seeing her laying in her bed.
"Hi" I smile and she looks up at me, a bright smile on her face.
"Hi Mommy"
"Can I tell you something? But you have to promise not to tell anyone" I pick her up and sit on the rocking chair, her in my lap.
"Yes" She nods.
"Okay, so you know Harry and I are going away for a couple days right?" I ask and she nods "Well, do you want to stay with daddy?" I ask, and she nods happily.
"Yes, yes, yes" She chants and I nod.
"Okay, I'll drop you off at abuelitas and he'll pick you up from there okay?"
"Okay" She nods, before yawning.
"Are you tired?" I ask and she nods "Alright, come on" I pick her up "You can sleep with me tonight" I carry her to my room, laying her in my bed, getting in beside her, pulling the covers over us.

"Hi Ma" I kiss her cheek, sitting Amelia and her stuff down, carrying her to the living room. I set her sleeping body on the couch and pull a blanket over her.
"Austin's coming right?" She asks.
"I sure as hell hope so. He hasn't answered any of my phone calls this morning so he might still be asleep. It's early" I look at the clock, seeing it's 5 in the morning.
"Okay" She nods.
"I'll to him to call you when he's on his way" I sit down beside Amelia, kissing her forehead "I wish she would've woken up but she didn't" I stand back up "I'll call you when I get to the airport" I hug my mom, kissing her cheek "I love you"
"I love you, have fun"
"I will" I nod, smiling before walking back out to Harry's car, getting into the passenger seat.
"Good?" Harry asks and I nod. On the way to the airport we stop and get breakfast, but still end up extremely early to the airport.
"I'm going to go use the bathroom" I tell Harry, standing up and walking to the bathroom. I check my phone, Austin's contact on my screen for a text message.
From: Austin
I had to go back to Miami
I clench my jaw and click on his contact, calling him. I wait for him to pick up and eventually he does "Ro?"
"So, you agree to watch her, something that's not an easy thing to go about because my own husband would kill me if he found out, but you leave? I guess that's just what you do best right? You've become a pro at leaving her"
"Rowan, I had to take care of my business"
"Oh, but you could do that for months while we're together from New York but as soon as I actually need you, you suddenly can't? Feed your lies to someone gullible enough to believe them" I grit.
"I'm sorry" He sighs "I just- I don't know"
"You're just worthless" I spit, hanging up the phone. I sigh and lean against the sink, pushing back the tears before I call my mom.
"Hello?"
"Austin's not going to pick up Amelia, tell her I'm so sorry and I'll make it up to her" I sigh, pinching the bridge of my nose.
"What happened to Austin?" She asks.
"He's on a slope of becoming a dead beat dad, that's what happened" I frown "Is Amelia up yet?" I ask.
"No, not yet"
"Okay, tell her I love her and I'll call when I land" I say "But I have to go now"
"Okay, I love you"
"I love you Ma" I say, hanging up the phone and putting it into my pocket. I walk back out towards Harry and sit down, my head leaning on his shoulder.
"What's wrong?" He asks.
"Nothing, just missing my baby" I frown.
"It's only three days, it'll be fine" He kisses my nose.
"I know, you're right" I sigh "It'll feel like longer is that stupid bitch is there"
"My boss' wife?"
"Ugh, yes" I groan "She's so rich it makes me want to vomit"
"Yeah, she's pretty awful" He agrees, and I laugh.
"Lucky for her, I've met people who were worse" I say.
"Who?"
"Just some girl that Austin knew" I shrug "She's was the worst"
"Well, good thing they're both gone right?" He laughs.
"You have no idea" I huff out.
