I should be doing homework. But then again, I'm always doing homework.
32. Rowan.
"Okay, here you two go" I sit a plate of breakfast in front of Amelia and Austin as they sit at the kitchen table "I've got to go to work. I'll see you two later" I kiss the top of Amelia's head before doing the same to Austin, causing him to chuckle. I make my way out of the kitchen, but before leaving completely, Austin calls for me.
"Hey! Come back here"
I groan and walk back towards him, knowing I'm going to be late "What?"
"Come here" He grabs the collar of my shirt, pulling me in for a kiss. I pull away and kiss his cheek "Have a good day at work" He smiles "Take a piece of bacon and some toast before you leave"
"I'm just going to eat-"
"Nope" He cuts me off "Go" He demands, pointing to the stove.
"Fine" I roll my eyes, grabbing a piece of toast.
"Bye Mommy" Amelia waves.
"Bye Baby" I blow her a kiss "Bye Papi" I kiss Austin's cheek and he shakes his head, chuckling as I walk out of the kitchen. I walk to my car and get in. Putting on my seat belt I turn on my car and pull off, making the much shorter drive to the bakery.
I walk inside, Rosa waving wildly at me "Hi"
"Hey" I wave back and her grin widens "What?" I ask.
"There's no ring on your finger"
"Oh" I look down at my left hand, looking at the tan line from where my ring used to sit "Yeah, I know. I think I finally decided that I wasn't happy and I needed to do something about it"
"So, Austin and you..." She trails off.
"We just bought a house" I bite my lip and Rosa squeals loudly, jumping up and down.
"Oh my god! I'm so excited"
"I think you're more excited than I am"
"I don't know how you're not excited, things are finally working out" She says happily, wrapping her arms around my shoulders "I love you so much Rowan" She sighs into my neck.
"I love you, Rosalie" I kiss her cheek, squeezing her tight before letting go. She smiles and walks back into the kitchen, leaving me to set my stuff down and tie on my apron.
"Good morning, Ms. Mendoza" One of our morning shift workers, Zoey smiles at me.
"Good morning" I smile back "I'm going to be doing most of the baking so cash register is all yours"
"Okay" She nods and I walk into the kitchen, getting ready to start baking.

"Ms. Mendoza there's someone here to see you" Mary, our afternoon worker walks into the door
"Can it wait? I have to wait this" I point to the hot pan on the stove.
"I'll ask" She walks back out of the kitchen.
"Who do you think it is?" Rosa asks, kneading a pile of dough on the counter.
"No idea" I shrug "It's not Austin because he'd be back here by now" I laugh.
"That's definitely true" She laughs, Mary walking back in.
"They said no. They need to see you now" She says, emphasizing the now.
