Double update because I feel like crap for not updating as much anymore.
35. Rowan.
"So tell me," Austin begins, taking another drink front he wine bottle "What were you like in school?" He asks. We're still out on the deck, though he's hanging upside down off of the patio chair while I lay down in front of him, my hands propping up my head.
"In high school Rosa was like, my only friend" I giggle, taking a drink from the bottle "Apparently Spanish accents aren't that cool"
"I think it's sexy" He winks, and I lean forward to kiss his lips, letting them linger before continuing.
"I went through phases in school, in elementary I was really quiet and didn't talk to that many people. In middle school, I was just weird, because of that whole puberty thing. Then high school, I did a lot more for school, and I definitely got my looks in high school"
"I bet if I went to high school with you, I would've dropped my balls if you ever talked to me" He chuckles "Because you're so pretty" He drawls out, poking the tip of my nose.
"Thank you" I giggle.
"I mean it, like I wonder how in the hell I got so fucking lucky" He exclaims and I laugh, kissing his jaw.
"You're so drunk" I laugh.
"How do you know?"
"Because you tell me how pretty I am and you get really loud" I laugh.
"Well, when you're drunk you turn into a baby" He snorts "One time, you wouldn't get undressed and when I told you to listen to me and stop being a baby you cried and called me a meanie"
"I vaguely remember that" I chuckle "But, let's get you to bed" I stand up, holding out my hands for Austin.
"Hold on woman! I've got to flip over" He swats my hands away. As he flips over, he puts too much force behind it and ends up rolling off the patio chair and onto the deck. I laugh loudly, as he lays on the ground, a pout on his lips.
"Are you okay?"
"You're laughing at me"
"I know, I'm so sorry" I hold my hands back out and he takes them, I attempt to pull him up but her makes no effort so I eventually let go "Looks like you'll have to stay on the ground forever" I shrug, grabbing the bottle of wine and finishing it off before throwing it away.
"No, look!" He stands right up and I laugh.
"Good to know it works on people other than Amelia" I snort and he grins, following me inside of the house. He wraps his arm around my shoulders from behind me, kissing my temple.
"You're so pretty" He sighs "Can we have drunk sex tonight?" He asks and I laugh.
"No, you need to sleep"
"Please" He drawls out "We haven't in so long, I wanna do it" He whines and when we reach the bedroom, he opens the door and flops down onto the bed, struggling to take off his belt "God damn it!" He curses and I laugh, walking towards him and undoing his belt, and helping him pull off his pants "Now it's your turn" He smirks and I laugh, unbuttoning my shorts and sliding them down my legs.
"How about you get under the covers and get ready while I go freshen up?" I smirk and he nods, immediately getting under the covers. Much like I had thought, as soon as his head hit the pillow he was out like a light. I walk down stairs, not caring that I don't have pants on and grab some Advil and water, carrying them up the steps. I put them on the bedside table and turn off the light, climbing into bed beside Austin. Pulling the covers higher onto us, I lay my head on Austin's chest, kissing his collarbone before falling asleep.
I wake up to the sound of Austin groaning beside me. Sitting up along with him, I kiss his shoulder blade before grabbing the Advil and water, handing it to him "Thank you Baby, you're the best" He kisses my lips before taking the pills and handing the water back to me.
"I don't even have to try" I giggle and he lays back down.
"No you don't" He shakes his head, wincing "Now come cuddle with me before I have to leave" He opens his arms and I gladly wrap my arms around him, his lips pressing against my forehead.
"How long do you think you'll be gone today?" I ask and he shrugs.
"Probably the same time as yesterday, but I hope earlier"
"Me too" I pout and he kisses my forehead.
Once it's time for him to leave, I reluctantly let him go so he can change and he leaves me alone in bed with a kiss on the lips and a quick 'I love you'.

"Hey, have you been in bed all day?" Austin asks, walking into the bedroom.
"No, I made food and then put Amelia down for a nap" I shrug and he nods "What's wrong?" I ask and he shrugs, laying down beside me after pulling off his shirt and pants.
"That place is just so stressful" He sighs.
"I'm sorry" I frown "I wish I could help"
"You already are helping me" He says.
"How?"
"By loving me and keeping me from going insane" He chuckles, and soon we both fall silent. Austin plays with my fingers, occasionally kissing my forehead, and I know by the look on his face he has something to tell me.
"What's wrong? There's something you're not telling me"
"I can't leave California for a while" He sighs, and I frown "I have to redo all basic training because whoever trained them didn't do it right and it could take months..." He trails off.
"So, you're leaving me. Again"
"I don't want to, believe me if I had a choice I would sell this building and make a different one somewhere else but I can't do that"
"Can't you like, come here on weekends and stay with us during the week?" I ask, and he sighs.
"They don't work weekends"
"But who know, maybe it'll only take a month rather than six" He shrugs, trying to lighten the mood, but it's not working "I don't want you to think I'm never coming back. I told you once Rowan, I'm not losing you again. I'll come back as often as I can, I'm not giving up on you. We're going to make this work and nothing is going to happen to us"
"I know" I nod "I just hate when you're away"
"I hate it too, but I'll try to make it go as fast as possible, okay?"
"Okay"
