Hi Everyone,
So recently, I had someone reach out to me from a fiction website asking me to publish my books.
I was asked to publish
Surrogate, She Stayed, Bulletproof and Shadow
I was told I would get paid for it and everything and I even reached out to the editor who contacted me for more information.
But honestly, I'm so skeptical.
Like, do I really wanna have someone else have some control over my works?
But this also could be a good opportunity for me.
And I don't wanna say the money is nice, but I mean, I'm a broke college student and could use some money to help pay for school.
It just all seems like it'd be a bad idea, but at the same time it seems like a good idea.
But like, I have no clue what to do, and I read a sample contract he sent me and it basically said if they can publish my story anywhere they want and I don't have a say, and like that if they make profit off my story I only get 30% which is ridiculous to me because its all my work.
And I'm worried they'll make me delete my story from wattpad because it says I can't post on any other third party websites.
But I did ask him if I have to delete it from here, and tbh if he says I do, that's my deal breaker.
Like wattpad MADE me, without wattpad they wouldn't know about any of my stories, and I've grown so much over this app, and I have gained so many of you beautiful people and I can't throw that away.
I literally just have no idea what to do, and I'm kinda freaking out.
But anyways, I'm rambling, but any advice from you guys???
Don't censor yourselves either. I want full and honest opinions.
