I lifted myself off of the floor and walked towards the front door. I opened it slightly to see a brown skin woman around my height that I've never seen before. She had her hair pulled up into a messy ponytail which made her look young. I opened the door a little more.
She spoke first. "Hi I'm Marie, my family just moved in next door" she had a warming smile on her face.
I smiled back. "I'm Adrienne" we shook hands. "My mom won't be home til later on tonight"
"It's okay I'll run into her another time. I just wanted to know who I'd be living around and apologize in advance if you hear loud music at random times. I have a son around your age and he loves to blast his horrible music" she shook her head to herself.
I let out a chuckle. "It's okay as long as you guys won't mind when I do the same occasionally"
"If you're taste is better than his blast all you want"
I nodded. "Will do"
A males voice screamed mom and Marie glanced back to her door where a milk chocolate boy stood wearing a pair of grey basketball shorts and a wife beater. "Ma I don't know where any of this stuff for the living room goes"
Marie shook her head and looked back at me. "It was nice meeting you but I better go finish unpacking."
I nodded. "It was nice meeting you too Marie"
She walked back to her apartment and I couldn't help but stare at her son who was still in the doorway. The whole time he was there he didn't even look at me once. I twisted my lips to the side before slowly closing the door and locking it. At least Marie is nice and her son is nice eye candy.
I went back to the living room and sat on the couch. I decided to take a nap to pass the time until mom gets home. Whatever time that may be.
