Jaycee, New Years Eve

When I woke up my parents were back to their arguing so I went across to Dri's. Seeing as it was still early in the morning she'd probably still be sleeping. I went in her room and she was there wrapped in the blankets. I climbed in next to her and stared at the ceiling until I fell asleep again.

I woke up to her throwing the bear on the floor and rolled over. She moved and pulled the blanket. By this point I was awake so I just laid on my back.

She poked her head out from under the cover. "Move one more time and you'll be on the floor with the bear. The only reason I'm even letting you lay with me is because I could hear the arguing from here."

I was gonna say she's the one who kept moving but I addressed the other thing. I looked down at her. "Really?"

She nodded.

"Sorry"

"Not your fault"

"Still"

"No"

"Whatever"

She moved again so we were shoulder to shoulder. "What was it about?"

"He won't be here to bring in the new year so she said if he can't do something as simple as ringing in the new year together then she doesn't want him in the new year"

"So...She-"

"Yeah"

"I'm sorry" I don't know why she's apologizing but I guess that's a natural reflex.

"I'm not, I know I should be disappointed but I'm kinda glad"

She didn't talk anymore which was good because I didn't want to talk about them. We just laid there for a while in silence until she asked

"What time is it?"

I looked at the cable box. "Almost 11"

"I'm hungry"

"Make breakfast"

"No ill just go back to sleep"

"If I make it im only making it for myself"

She turned to face the wall so I got off the bed and threw the bear back on the bed but it landed on top of her.

"Jay!"

I laughed before making my way to the kitchen.

After finishing breakfast i ran to store for some juice. When I walked back into dri's she was in the kitchen.

"Oh I thought you wouldn't be up yet" I put the bag on the counter. "You need to go food shopping by the way"

She ignored me and just looked at me like I just told her she can't get a toy from the toy store. "You really didn't make me breakfast?"

I just smiled.

She started glaring at me so we just stared at each other until I started laughing.
