Adrienne, New Years Eve

The first time I woke up I rolled over and snuggled up to my still unnamed bear before forcing myself back to sleep.

The next time I woke up to being squished between Jay and said bear. I groaned before throwing the bear over jay onto the floor which made enough noise for jay to roll over and face me. It also means he had more space behind him that was untouched.

I moved closer to the wall and pulled the blanket over my head to block the sun, which really only helped a little.

Jay moved again but this time he laid on his back which caused me to poke my head out enough to see him stare at the ceiling. "Move one more time and you'll be on the floor with the bear. The only reason I'm even letting you lay with me is because I could hear the arguing from here."

His eyes slowly landed on me. "Really?"

I nodded.

"Sorry"

"Not your fault"

"Still"

"No"

"Whatever"

I fixed myself so we were laying shoulder to shoulder looking at the ceiling. "What was it about?"

"He won't be here to bring in the new year so she said if he can't do something as simple as ringing in the new year together then she doesn't want him in the new year"

I hesitated before speaking. "So...She-"

"Yeah"

"I'm sorry" My parents are not divorced but then again he's never around so they have nothing to fight about.

"I'm not, I know I should be disappointed but I'm kinda glad"

I didn't reply I just let that be the conversation ender and he didn't keep going either. We laid there for a while until I started to get hungry then I spoke.

"What time is it?"

He looked over to the cable box. "Almost 11"

"I'm hungry"

"Make breakfast"

"No ill just go back to sleep"

"If I make it im only making it for myself"

I ignored him as I turned to face the wall because he wouldn't dare. He got off the bed behind me and suddenly the bear was on top of me.

"Jay!"

He laughed before I heard his footsteps leave the room. What an asshole.

The third and last time I woke up the smell of breakfast was slightly floating around. I dragged myself to the kitchen and as I did jay walked in the apartment.

"Oh I thought you wouldn't be up yet" he put a plastic bag on the counter. "You need to go food shopping by the way"

I ignored both statements and just pouted. "You really didn't make me breakfast?"
