The moon goddess and I walked over to the stream and kneeled in front of the cool, calm water. Thoughts pounded in my head, even though I knew Selene could read my mind, even so my hands trembled nervously.
"Calm down my child, you'll be home soon. But, I have to show you something." She pointed towards the soft moving stream, and moved her hand over the water. Gently, images of some sort made there way on the water and it showed Jace in wolf form running and fighting rogues. He seemed bloodthirsty.
Jace tore the throats off of other wolves and seemed invincible. There was at least twenty and Jace killed them with in three seconds. Never have I seen him in such a rage. His anger ate at him from the inside out.
Gasping, I backed away from the water only to run into someone from behind. Turning around, I saw my only sister. She looked older, taller, and more intelligent since the incident. Haley. I felt sick. Just how? How is this possible? Then again, how is any of this possible? Looking Haley up and down, to make sure this was real, I was pulled into a hug.
"I can't believe you're here! I mean it's sad, but, I-I just-ugggg!" Haley rambled off, while hugging me and eventually, I returned the hug. After about a minute, we pulled apart.
"So, how'd you get up here?" She raised her eyebrows and smiled the kind and loving smile I used to love. Her face was radiant with happiness and love. Looking over to Selene, she raised her eyebrows at me and motioned for me to continue.
"I-I just gave birth." I trailed off. Realization hit me. I was gone, Jace was alone and had to raise three kids alone at the moment... God, I suck at parenting already! Haley's smile then faded and her glowing skin paled.
"Don't worry, she'll be home soon." The moon goddess looked up at the clear blue sky and frowned. Looking back down, she walked our way and rubbed my back.
"Say you're final goodbyes. We have to get you home." She looked straight into my eyes and smiled, then the next second she vanished. Sighing I looked to Haley.
"I'm sorry about sending you here." Tears brimmed and burned the edges of my eyes rethinking the memory. Haley chuckled and rolled her eyes.
"Hey, don't worry about it. I love it here. I got to hang out with mom and dad for awhile, so that was great. They miss you so much! I'm surprised they aren't here, but I guess your business is with me. Plus you have your mate and your children! I actually jealous." She chuckled once again and I found a smile of my own on my face. Never did I think my older sister would be jealous of me. She had the looks. She had the fame, the friends, the grades, her whole life planned out. She sighed. "I wish I was down there with you sometimes though."
"Me too." We were in silence for ten seconds and Selene reappeared.
"Are you ready?" She sounded rushed and I nodded. I took a deep breath and hugged Haley once again.
"If you ever miss me, look into the moon and talk. I'll always be there." She whispered into my ear and kissed my cheek. We pulled apart and I walked to the moon goddess.
"Here, take my hand." Looking to Haley once again, I placed my hand in Selene's hand. Her cold aura was more comforting than anything.
"Byeeeeee!" Haley smiled and waved at me. The moon goddess then blocked my view from her and looked at me in the eyes. The overwhelming feeling of comfort washed over me.
"Close your eyes." I closed them and took in a deep breath. "Think about Jace, Zach, and your newborns." I smiled at the thoughts, thinking of our futures. A mere second passed and my body felt like it was floating.
"Goodbye my child." She whispered. Everything was silent, the floating feeling almost gone.
Beep, beep, beep.
