"So, yesterday was my first soccer practice since the accident. It definitely felt good to get out there on the field again. It helped me take my mind off things at least for a little while. Everyone noticed immediately I was off my game though. I was really bad actually, but that's ok. I'll get into it again eventually. Coach won't take me off the captain position because of this. I'm sure I'll be back to normal again in no time.
"It was weird not having you sitting on the sidelines though. I'm so used to you waiting for me while I have practice. No matter how often I tell you that you can just go home instead, you don't care. You're still there, doing your homework, listening to your music, and casting glances my way every few minutes so you know what's going on. I'm not sure I've ever told you how much your presence means to me. You make me better by just being there. I should tell you more often how much I appreciate you."
