[KIRAN POV] Roman and I were sitting in the car in a dimly lit parking lot, talking about our relationship or whatever was left of it. I let him know that I still had feelings for him but I also had to tell him that I can't trust him enough to get back together with him. He was biting his lower lip as he fought back tears. Roman hated crying in front of me so I knew he was going to make every effort to hold himself together. A moment later, he took a deep breath and looked up at me.
"You know what? It's fine. I'm okay with that. The fact that you still have feelings for me is more than enough for me right now. Trust is still an issue—fine, we can work on that just as we've done so with everything else. In the end, I just want you back in my life. That's all I want, I don't care how long I have to wait, I just want you back."
I put a reassuring hand on his lap, and in turn he placed his hand on top of mine.
"I know you're trying hard to make us work and I promise I'll do the same as well, okay?"
He quietly nodded and gave me a weak smile before starting up the car.

After landing the next morning at Palm Springs International Airport, Roman arranged for a cab to take us to his second house which he had purchased a few years back to use for when he was vacationing on the west coast. As the cab pulled up in front of the house, I was left jaw dropped.
"Roman, this is your vacation house?"
"Yup...all mine."
"Roman, this is a mansion! It's so gorgeous!"

His house was surrounded with palm trees and shrubs, overlooking the edge of a private lake. There were two balconies on the front side and I was yet to be shown the inside.
"I'm glad you love it because for the next two days, it's all yours. Come, let me show you around."
He held his arm out like a proper gentleman so I put my arm through his and we went in. Inside, he had his big flat screen tv on the wall with couches set around a coffee table. Through some glass French doors, there was a massive indoor swimming pool.
