Hey guys! So I kind of got lost in what time it was and when this was all set, SO I think in the next couple of chapters I'm going to skip down to the end of 2013 when Demi starts filming Glee. I just felt like this was kind of dragging on, So DEMI will be "released" super soon - i probably wont make it a big deal just because i have so much more planned - and i'm going to basically skip over season 3 of X Factor, except of course for Demi's performance, but yeah let me know what you think!
Mac
I stood still in front of Demi waiting for her to yell and get mad, who knows what she heard or if she just came in when I hit Maddie. This wasn't going to look good for me. "What happened Mac? Why did you hit Maddie?" I looked at Maddie who glared at me and shook my head. I wasn't going to make Demi even more mad at Maddie. "Maddison, what about you?"
She smirked at me before letting tears fall down her cheeks "She j-just jumped o-on me Demi" my mouth dropped open and I resisted the urge to scream. Demi looked at me, my shocked face, and turned to face Maddie again "Bullshit she did Maddison, what really happened?" Maddie's tears immediately stopped and she growled "She was being a fucking princess! Not my fault she can't handle a stupid joke. She's clearly used to not be able to handle any jokes"
I realized she was referring to my cuts and obviously the bullying she assumed went along with it and felt tears spring to my eyes. "I'm going upstairs, I'm sorry if I hurt you Maddie I shouldn't have lashed out like that" I quickly ran upstairs and into the bedroom. Maddie, who's own sister was bullied and self-harmed, just made it out like I couldn't handle a joke and that's why I cut. She doesn't know, she doesn't understand, it's not her fault.
I started pulling everything out of my bag, tossing my clothes all over the floor. I wasn't sure what I was looking for until everything had been tossed out of my bag and I still hadn't picked anything up. I curled up next the bag as tears started falling down my face, I couldn't handle a joke.
The flashback happened so fast it felt like I was thrown into a private screening from my own personal horror story.
I sat in the school bathroom, tears falling down my face, as I slowly grabbed my blade from my bag. I hesitated when I heard 4 girls come in, I quickly shuffled my bag onto my lap and sat on the lid of the toilet hoping no one would hear me. "Kenzie, I know you're in here" my tears fell down my face as I heard Bronte's voice echo in the empty stalls.
"Have you come in here to continue that nasty habit of yours?" I heard her giggle and snicker with her friends before they turned on all the taps. "You'll get there eventually, Kenzie, you just gotta...dig a little harder" her friends' laughter filled the bathroom as they all filed out. I dropped my bag on the floor and carefully opened my stall door. My blade fell from my hand as I saw the hot water fogging the mirror.
Bronte had written me a message on the mirror 'If you can't take a little joke Kenzie why don't you push a little harder'
I snapped out of it and blinked a few times, trying to get the images out of my mind. I rolled over onto my back and stared at the ceiling, where was Demi? I rolled onto my stomach and pushed myself off the floor and quietly eased the bedroom door open. I could hear Demi talking to Maddison, and she wasn't happy.
"Maddison, what is your problem?" Demi asked, all anger in her voice was gone but I could tell she had asked this question more than once and was starting to get impatient.
"I don't have a problem, maybe you should go talk to Mackenzie about whatever her problem is!" Demi sighed "Maddie, Mac apologized before running upstairs, she didn't mean to hurt you so what happened to cause that fight?" it went silent for a minute before I heard Maddie sigh "Fine. I noticed her scars and made sure she knew it" Demi sighed and growled "What did you say Maddie, what happened?" I could hear someone shuffle their feet.
