Mac's POV
I lunged for her throat, screaming, when my head smacked against the counter top. Everything turned black and when I finally opened my eyes the harsh lights were giving me a headache.
Demi's POV
"Mom..." she whispered.
I jumped up from the spot I'd fallen to on the floor and raced over to grab her hand.
"Baby?!" I whisper-shouted, squeezing her hand.
"Hey baby girl" I whispered as tears reached the corners of my eyes.
I found the nurse button and pushed it, so they could give her a check up now that she's awake.
"Baby? Baby look at me, god you scared me" I whispered, as I gripped her hand more tightly.
The nurse stepped in and smiled brightly "Hi Mackenzie, I'm Carson. You had your mom here quite scared, but I'm just going to check everything and then I'll leave you two alone okay?" She spoke gently.
You simply nodded and closed your eyes as she checked all the machines and adjusted the wires. She attached a new drip and smiled before taking her exit.
I had to fight myself not to scream that you can't close your eyes, what if you didn't wake up again?
Mac's POV
As the nurse left Demi sat up straighter, her hand still gripping mine tightly.
"Hey baby girl.." she whispered.
"Mom" I croaked, my voice cracking and gravelly.
"Oh baby girl what did you do" she cried softly, squeezing my hand.
"What time is it? Where's....where is Rissa?" I stumbled, my throat in agony.
"Honey Rissa went home..." she whispered, her gaze falling down to the floor.
"I want Mar, Demi I want to see her" I cried.
"Hey kiddo, how're you feeling?" I heard from beside the door.
I looked up, eager to find Marissa and saw Dallas instead. Trailing behind her were Diana, Eddie and Maddie.
"Why isn't Marissa here, she wouldn't have just left me" I whispered, tears falling down my cheeks as I look at Demi for answers.
"Yeah Demi, why isn't Marissa here?" Dallas spoke up, her voice harsh.
I pulled my hand from Demi's and faced Dallas.
"Dal...where is she? What happened?"
"Dallas shut up! She just woke up, she doesn't need you making things worse" Demi yelled, jumping from her seat to walk towards her.
"Demi don't! I want to know what's happening...what...what day is it?" I finally questioned.
"It's been a week darling, a very long and intense week. I'll give Marissa a call and let her know you want to see her okay?" Diana spoke up, getting between Demi and Dallas. Both girls earning a hard glare from their mom.
