Chapter 45

"The Attack"

Anna's POV

I stopped to observe my surroundings, and I frowned when I noticed that I'm now surrounded with dozen of people. Some of them went out of their secret corner, looking smug and all, and this is when it all clicked to me.

The unfamiliar presence I sensed earlier definitely has a connection with the obnoxious teenagers smiling at me like a patient from an asylum.

"Look what we got here. Aren't we lucky guys?"

The deep voice is right. Aint I lucky?

"This chick looks lost," another one said. He smirked at me. "mind if we hang out a little bit?"

"Hang out and get to know each other~" The one who is bald said. "maybe we'll realise we have the same goal in life."

Asking a stranger you have the same goal in life, in a dark alley? That's funny, but I didn't do anything, even sigh. I just stood there, thinking when will I get to shower and relax so I can do my assignments for this week.

"Yeah, that's a good idea," A boy with a snake bites piercing agreed. "what do you think, Daniel?"

They are speaking in English, so I'm convinced they are studying in my school as well.

As the boy mentioned the name Daniel, a lad sporting an afro cut, sunglasses, a black cigar hanging on his lips and a nasty smirk came up. He has a dark complexion, so I'm guessing he's mixed.

The moment the crowd parted to give way for the lad named Daniel, I sorta knew he is their leader - or atleast that's how I see it.

I wanted to tell them to fuck off and leave me, but I don't want to be rude. So I resorted to gentle approach.

I ignored them and tried to walk away, but a voice stopped me.

"Ah ah ~ where do you think you're going?"

I looked back at Daniel, blinked and said, "Back to my apartment."

Daniel laughed as though he can't believe that I sassed back. "You've got sass in you, I like that."

"If you don't mind," I ignored his words. "can I go back to my apartment yet?"

I can't believe I'm asking nicely. I'm not in the mood to kick someone's balls tonight, thank you, but if this idiot did something I didn't like, I'll have to resort to violence.

Where are my guards when I need them?

The boy with snake bites laughed. "Daniel, this hot chick's disrespecting you,"

I blinked. I didn't know asking nicely is now considered disrespecting.

"Lady, we were only trying to know you," Daniel said. "why are you being so rude?"
