On the day of the ball, Petra was strolling down the plaza, with nothing but the ball in her head. She worried that Jesse would break down (just like at primary school) on the dance floor and humiliate himself along with her too. She too was reminiscing that moment, but at a detail greater than Jesse's.
She could remember the gradual breaking down before Jesse began to sob like a baby. Petra decided to take action, mainly because she was unconditionally considerate to everyone, but also because she secretly like-liked Jesse.
"If I could marry anyone? I think I'd choose that little kid, Jesse. He's just simply adorable and I love his little-child side. He's like a little child in need of love." She spilled these to her closest friends. She could also remember her gentle embrace with a tearful Jesse, and how she felt that there was someone who needed her in his life. At that moment, Petra had begun to fall in love with him. She smiled widely at the thought and sat onto an oak bench overlooking the Storm Cliffs, which were so-named because they were formed during the Great Storm.
Later, she saw Jesse, who was walking towards her. Jesse saw her friend, and she decided to join her to chat. "Petra! You doing OK?" She lightly responded "Yeah. Just thinking about… things." Jesse sat down, she then said "Sooo, this ball thingy. I presume Jesse's asked you?" Petra silently nodded, "...and Lukas managed to ask you?" Jesse reponded "Unbelieveable isn't it? A quiet cutie like him couldn't resist a lovely lily like me, eh?" All Petra did was laugh and say "Well, it looks that way, doesn't it?"
Jesse stayed silent for a while, before she said "We've been asked out by such cute sweetie-pies, don't you think? I mean, nobody could say that Jesse is like a child and Lukas is just… incredible. I actually feel lucky that those two sweet souls are in our lives, otherwise, we'd probably be asked by two complete weirdos!" On that note, Petra laughed. "For what it's worth, I think tonight's gonna be the best night ever." Jesse reacted "Whoa there! We're all short of 18. Don't sound so… so… crazy!" Both girls began to laugh. They stayed there until dusk when Jesse left so she could try on her new outfit. Petra felt that she'd go as she is. No fancy clothes or any of that, just Petra.
I sure hope Jesse can dance!
