They came home late at night; the town gates were shut and the lampposts blazing orange. Jesse clutched Lukas' arm throughout the entire journey and Petra did her best to hold back her tears, though Jesse would always make her melt by kissing her. "If you want to cry, go ahead. Nobody will judge you." She would then often snap "Cry? Who do you think you are talking to?!" But Jesse would calmly respond "A tough girl with the mind and physique of a fighter, but with the heart of a little girl," before gently kissing her, then she would start sobbing so quietly. "Ssh-Ssh. It'll be okay... let it out."
They first headed to Jesse's treehouse, where before the couples parted, Petra insisted on staying with him that night. "Erm, okay I guess?" Jesse answered with worry, Petra threw herself at him and squealed "Thank you!" while Jesse and Lukas shrugged. Petra then dragged Jesse into the treehouse, excited and energetic. Then it was silent. Jesse and Lukas simply stared at the treehouse, then glanced at each other's eyes, then she melted into a warm embrace.
"Hey, you tired?" Lukas softly whispered. Jesse replied in a muffled voice, "Yes..." after which Lukas planted a soft kiss on her forehead, then began walking her home, well, at least until noise began to erupt from the treehouse.
YAAAAGH!!!!
Aw I'm sorry. Did I hurt you? I can fix that...
No no no no no no NO NO! Not again!
Mwah mwah mwah! Here's your band-aid!
AAAAAAAGH!!!!!!
*laughs* You adorable little sap...
Well, that's the worst it can get- uh-oh. What are you doing?
Nothing...
That's not nothing! Wait a minute. No, no, no, NOOOOO!!!!!

Lukas froze when Jesse let out a deafening scream from inside the treehouse. He snickered very quietly, then carried sweet little Jesse (asleep in his arms) back home, where he laid her down on the soft mattress, kissed her very warmly, but was about to leave when she moaned "Lukas... won't you stay with me?" He smiled warmly and replied "Of course. Anything for you." He snuggled in with her and let out a long sigh, "Oh boy did I really miss this place. Its warmth, its meaning to me, and you. I love you so much Jesse, I don't want you to forget that." She slowly turned to meet his blue eyes and smiled, "Of course I'll remember that. You may be 1000 miles away from me, but I'll always have you in my thoughts. I love you too Lukas... thank you for being in my life." Lukas beamed before replying "Thank you," they engaged in one more passionate kiss, then Lukas switched off the lamp, and drifted away.
