Jesse lay there like a lifeless corpse. She was still out from the intensive shock and still appeared frazzled. Her brother sat beside her breathing corpse, tightly clutching her hand and feeling the pulse of her living heart, "It's so good to hear you're fine. Lukas would've been real proud to hear you pushed on, despite the pain it's caused you." he thought in his head.
The group had escaped the storm and were drying off at a sunny meadow, an area of tranquility given the wild nature of the Farther Lands. Petra had decided to wander about whilst Jesse is with his sister's sleeping corpse beside him, beneath a cherry blossom tree. He eyed her carefully for signs of stirring, for she had been out for at least 8 hours and seemed to have rested well, provided that she has been resting and not playing dead. Come on, wake up. We've made it this far, and we're so close. Your heart can feel it, so you cannot give up now…
Jesse remained dormant for another hour until suddenly, the slightest jerk of movement startled Jesse. Her arm had begun to twitch ever so slightly, and her eyelids pressured on and off again. Jesse, who had been watching a supposedly lifeless corpse all this time, was rather shocked and delighted to know his sister was definitely alive. After moments of this sporadic movements, Jesse noticed that she was silently moaning as if she had just woken up. Sis?
The low moaning continued for a minute, then it stopped. Her mouth opened as if to breathe, and unclear words seeped out like gas seeping through a crevice. What? She did eventually flick her eye open, and she then tried to get up, but hissed at the still-searing pain surging through her back. Jesse saw that she was awake, and overfilled with glee, embraced her very gently so as to not inflict any more damage. Ow... still hurts.
Jesse was so happy to see her sister fully functioning again, he was also relieved that she wasn't killed in the shock. But she was acting confounded."Whe- where are we? How long have I been out? Did we find Lukas yet?" she began pouring questions out of a jug, and Jesse was overfilled. "Take it easy. You've been out a while. I'll tell you what happened so far, but you need to try and relax. You've had a very rough night." he said, and then she replied "Right. Ouch! It burns!"
"Heeey. It's fine. Grabbed a few painkillers before we left. Initially figured I'd had to use them." Jesse replied, 'God. To think we'd both get struck by lightning once in our lives. No worries though, the pain will subside, eventually…' Jesse threw the tablets into her mouth and gulped, and within seconds, the pain had dissipated as quickly as potassium reacting with water, she felt a huge chill surge through her nerves, before loosening and sinking to lay on the ground. Those are… SOME effective drugs you brought there. "At least it ain't aspirin or ibuprofen or some other potentially dangerous painkiller, nuh-uh. It's Dragon's Breath."
Now before you go ballistic in the comments section like "Hey stupid! That's not how dragon's breath works!" and believe me, I know that, it is worth noting that even Minecraft Story Mode doesn't abide to ALL of Minecraft's mechanics (can't grab a ledge, can't throw a sword like a projectile etc.) and neither do I for the sake of a storyline. And let's face it, something as epic as Dragon's Breath has gotta sound like a medicine!
"Oh so that explains why my stomach kinda feels cloudy inside now. Like you exploded a Lingering potion inside me. But what matters is I'm fine, and we can finally go back to locating my Lukas," she said after hearing what drug was used. "Oh but we already did track him down, we just gotta get there," another voice said, originating from the meadow. She turned to notice it was Petra, and she was returning from wandering about the meadow, 'You feeling all right?' Jesse nodded, and in trying to get up, groaned at how her legs were carrying four times her weight from the effects of the drugs on her strength, "Still feel, kinda weak y'know."
Petra helped her up, along with Jesse, who had her arm slung sround his shoulder, "C'mon I'm sure you can still walk. Few more miles, that is. And back…" When she got up on her feet, she was immediately starting to tremble slightly, for her leg muscles had been dampened by the drugs. "I hope the side effects don't last long… Please say they won't." Jesse nodded, and declared "The opening was our Point of No Return. There is no going back now, we are fully committed to this course and we're gonna follow it, for turning back would be to betray a sibling, and a friend."
Agreed.
