Chapter 9- dates

Evers POV
Last night after natsu walked me home i danced around my room for a little bit before getting ready for bed. Once i woke up this morning i made breakfast and cleaned the house. Now i just need to shower and change and ill be ready to head to natsus house. I texted him real quick to let him know;
Me: hey, im gonna shower n then ill dress n head over.
Natsu: okay, ill come pick u up
Me: you dont need to do that
Natsu: well i am. Ill be there in 30 mins
Once he said this i got into the shower. Once i showered i picked out an outfit. I didnt want to dress slutty or anything but i did want to look cute. I picked out a red sundress. It had spaghetti straps and a low collar with black lace around it. It came down to about my knees. With that i put on just red flats before curling my hair. I didnt usually wear makeup so i wasnt going to today. After i got dressed an put my shoes on i headed downstairs. Once i left my room i could hear ethan talking to somebody, "yeahh, ill be there in like ten minutes," he said. He must be talking to mira, he said he was going to take her out to dinner tonight. "Sthat mira?" I heard another voice ask ethan. "Yeah," ethan answered. "Im going to leave when you guys do, just make sure ever gets back here," ethan said. "Of course," the other voice said. 'Its natsu!' I made my way down the steps and saw ethan and natsu sitting on the couch facing away from me. As i came down the steps they turned their heads to look at me. "Hi natsu~" i said as i walked down the stairs. "H-hi," he stuttered out as i reached the bottom of the steps. "Im ready when you are," i told him. "O-okay, lets go," he told me. "I got the corvette," he told me as he held up a set of car keys. "You can drive?" I asked. He nodded before replying, "yeah, my dad taught me last year," he said. "Thats cool," i admitted. "Just be careful," ethan said from behind us. "And be back by like midnight," he told me. "Okay okay, i got it," i told him. "See you later," i told him as we walked out the door. When we got outside i noticed a bright red corvette parked outfront. It had the top down and you could see the tan leather uphosterly. Ethan began walking down the street as natsu approached the car and opened the passenger side door, "here ya go," he said as i sat in the car. "Thankyou," i told him. As he went around the car and got into the driver seat i noticed what he was wearing. Just like last night he was wearing a pair of jeans and a button up shirt. This shirt was red with black designs. 'How did he know to match my dress?' I thought. "So my dads making pasta, i hope you like it," he said as we drove down the road. "Im sure it will be good," i said as i looked out the window. As we passed fairytail i looked out the window and spoke, "it looks so empty on the weekend," i said. He looked over at the school before responding, "yeah, especially this early in the year," he said. As we kept driving it was silent but i noticed natsu take one of his hands off the wheel and put it on my thigh. He smiled at me as he did this and i swear i saw his face was turning pink. "Were almost there," he told me. I nodded my head but didnt say anything. I could feel his heat radiating onto me from his hand and it felt nice. He slowed the car down and stopped outfront of a house. It was a red brick building with a nice yard around it. The door and shutters are white and right outside the door there are flowers planted. Natsu got out of the car so i did too. As he came around he closed the door for me before extending his hand to me, "you ready?" He asked. I nodded and took his hand in mine. As we got to the door he stopped and turned to me, "can i- do something before we go in, real quick?" He asked me. "Um- sure," i told him unaware of what he was going to do. Once i said this he brought his face close to mine and connected his lips to mine. I felt my face heat up as he kissed me and i felt him smile against my lips. It only lasted a moment before he pulled away, blushing. "Okay- im ready now," he said. I squeezed his hand in mine lightly before answering, "okay. Lets go." Slowly natsu opened the door and led me inside. Once inside i could smell what reminded me of my fathers spaghetti sauce, "that smells good," i said. Natsu nodded but before he could speak igneel came bounding into the room, "hello!" He spoke happily. "Dinner will be ready in just a few minutes, please make yourself at home," igneel told me. "Its nice to see you," i told him. "Its nice to see you too, you look great!" He said. "Thankyou, i try." I joked with him. "Well im going to set the table, come on in when your ready," he told us. As he went back into the kitchen natsu turned to me, "please dont let him freak you out," he said. I looked at him quizically before answering, "why would he freak me out? Hes nice." I told him. "Okay well lets-" before natsu could finish speaking i noticed a blue cat walking down the steps. "Oh my! That cat is blue!" I said excitedly. "Yeahh, thats happy. Hes my buddy." Natsu said happily. I walked up to happy and knelt down before extending my hand. Slowly he walked towards me and rubbed his chin on my hand. As i pet the cat it slowly climbed onto my lap and laid down. "Aw he likes you!" Natsu said happily. "Good!" I said, "i love cats!" I told him. He smiled brightly before gently picking up the cat from my lap and sitting him on the couch. I pouted at him as he did this but he just answered, "dont worry. You can play with happy later," he told me. "Okayyy," i said sadly as i stood up. Once i stood we walked into the dinning room and sat down. His dad had set the table with two plates on one side and one on the other. Me and natsu sat down next to eachother as he started bringing the food out. First he brought out a large bowl of spaghetti and meatballs then he brought out extra sauce and dinner rolls. Once he sat down he spoke, "well you can dig in!" He said. I wanted to wait until they got their food so i stayed still but natsu noticed and asked, "do you want me to get you some?" He said. I shook my head and answered, "no i was just waiting for you guys to get yours first," i told him. He smiled before replying, "you dont have to!" As he said this he put a large scoop of pasta and a roll onto my plate. "Thankyou," i told him. "Dont mention it," he said. As i took a bite i felt a sense of nostalgia wash over me. 'This tastes just like my fathers' i could feel myself getting emotional so to stop the tears from forming, i spoke up. "This is amazing," i admitted. Natsu held my hand under the table while igneel spoke up, "thankyou ever. I got the recipe from an old western recipe book," he said. I nodded my head before answering, "was it called 'the taste of the western world?'" I asked. Igneel noded before asking, "how did you know?" I chuckled before answering, "my father wrote that book. He used to make this all the time," i said. "Wait, youre last name is vargas?" He asked me. I nodded my head. "Youre father is lawrence vargas?," igneel asked. I nodded my head before speaking, "He passed away a few months ago," i explained, "but he made sure to leave me and ethan enough money to live off of," i told them. Natsu squeezed my hand while igneel answered, "i used to watch his late night cooking show all the time! He was truly a master chef. And they way he spoke so lovingly about his children- your father sounds like a great man," igneel said. We continued eating. "So, ever," igneel spoke up. "Youre on the swim team?" He asked me. "Yes, me and juvia will be competing against lamia scale next week," i told him. "Ooh you will be in the match? You must be good for the coach to pick a newbie." He said. I smiled shyly but responded, "well i dont think im that good but coach and the other girls on the team have faith in me," i told him. Natsu smiled proudly, "dont say that! Juvia told me how good you are!" He said happily. "Well me and my boys will be there to cheer you girls on," igneel said. "You mean the guys from boxing?" I asked. Natsu and igneel both nodded. We all ate dinner peacefully and when we were all done i stood up, "should i put these in the sink?" I asked as i took my plate into the kitchen. Quickly natsu stood up and took the plate from my hands, "let me get it," he told me. "Oh no. I can help," i tried to help him but igneel stood up and spoke, "nonsense. Youre our guest so you just sit back while we clean," he told me. Natsu and igneel began bringing the dishes into the kitchen and began washing them. As they did this i pulled out my phone and texted juvia.
Me: hey
It took a moment before i got a reply
Juvia: heyy ever. Whats up?
Me: not much. At natsus waiting for them to finish the dishes
Juvia: oh yeah i forgot you were gonna go to his house for dinner tonight. So how is it?
Me: its alright. Igneel is really nice. Natsu even has a cute little blue kitty!
Juvia: a blue cat? I think i may have heard gray sama talking about it before.
Me: yeah! Its so cute!
