Chapter 20- cooking for five

Evers POV
When natsu dropped me off at home it was about 415. I told him to come over around 6-630. I gave him a quick kiss before rushing inside and getting dinner started. I first put the potatoes on to boil and assembled the beef wellington. It wasnt too hard. First out the puff pastry down then out the ribeye steak and in the middle of the steak but steak paté. I put that in the oven. Next i set up the double broiler for the chocolate. Once i got the chocolate melted i mixed in the sugar flour and eggs until it was the right consistency. I took out the two fish i bought for happy and began deboning them. Once i got all the bones out i heated up the grill we have next to the stove and place one of them on there. The other one i kept raw. One it was on the grill i ran upstairs and got dressed. When i came back down i looked at the time 4:45! Ethan came in and asked what i was doing. I told him and he got upset that i was making beefwellington without him here. Whatever. He got dresse into his suit and was about to leave when i heard him ask mira if he should bring something, "this is the perfect time!" I ran down to the basement and got one of the best wines we had. I gave it to ethan and told him to bring it to mr. Strauss, "merlow, '79" i told him. Him and mira thanked me before walking out. It was 5 already! I put the dinner rolls in the oven. I strained the potatoes and began to mash them. I added, cream, butter, salt and some truffle oil. I learned from my father only to use a little bit because the truffle flavor can be overwhelming. I tasted the potatoes and thought they were good. So i out the lid on them and checked the beef. It was done yet, a few more. I check happys fish and it was cooked nicely. I cut up the grilled salmon and mixed it with the raw mackeral, 'i hope he likes it' i thought. 'Oh crap! I didnt make any veggies!' I looked through our fridge and found asparagas. I sauteed them real quick before outting them on the grill. One they were on the grill i heard a knock on the door. I qckly ran to the door and answered it, it was gray and juvia. "Hey ever!" Juvia said happily as she came it. "Wow smells good," gray said as he shut the door behind him. "Sorry dinner will be ready soon. Hopefully natsu and igneel get here before then," i said. Gray sat down on the ciuch, "do you need any help?" He asked. I thought for a moment before answering, "actually id be great if you could set the table," i told him. He and juvia followed me to the kitchen, "wow it smells even better in here," gray said. I handed him a stack of plates, silverware and wine glasses. "Ill bring the napkins out in a minute!" I told him. He nodded before going into the dining room and starting to set the table. "Need any help in here?" Juvia asked. I looked around and saw the cake mix, "ah- yes!" I took out the individual cake dished and sat them in front of her. I had seven incase someone wanted extra. "Can u put the cake mix in these for me?" I asked her. She nodded but before she began filling them she asked, "fill them a bit more than halfway? Like you do with cupcakes?" She asked. I nodded my head. As she filled them up i took out the beef and checked it, 'perfect!' I took the asparagus off the grill and salted it lightly. Just then there was another knock at the door, "ill be back," i told juvia as i went to the door. When i answered natsu and igneel stood in front of me. Natsu was holding happy, "you brought him!" I said happily. "You asked me to," he said as they entered. He put happy down on the floor and the kitty responded by rubbing himself on my ankle. "Aww," i said. "Well welcome, dinner will be ready shortly," i told them. "I must admit, ever. You have a lovely home," igneel told me. I thanked him and bowed to him before walking back to the kitchen. When i got back in juvia was just finished pouring them in the ceramic cake molds. Gray finished setting the table and i could hear him, natsu and igneel speaking. "Would u like to put them in the oven for me?" I asked juvia. She nodded her head and began putting them in the oven as i ran down the basement. I looked through our wines until i fiund a nice white, rose wine. It was only from the 80s but the white rose is my favorite. When i brought it upstair juvia was shutting the oven, "thanks juv. You can go sit down," i told her. "Haha still trying that nickname out?" She asked as she walked into the dining room. "Of course," i said as i followed her. "Guys," juvia called out to the guys who were sitting on the couch. They looked over at us, "please come sit," i told them. "You dont have to be so formal," natsu said while chuckling. "Yeah but it makes me feel like a good host," i told him. Gray and juvia sat on one side of the table next to eachother. Igneel sat at the one head of the table and natsu sat on the side next to him, my plate was next to natsus. "Enjoy this while i go get dinner," i said as i out the wine bottle down. "Wine?" Juvia asked. "Now young lady, is that liquor?" Igneel asked sarcastically. "Yes an '86 white rose. It will complement our meal tonight," i told him. He smirked, "oh so the girl does know her wines!" He said. "Well her dad was a five star chef," gray said. "Or its just because shes awesome!" Natsu said happily. "Ill go get dinner," i told them. I walked back into the kitchen n put the beef and asparagus on serving plates. I empied the potatoes and dinner rolls into a serving bowl. I brought them into the other room and sat them on the table. I noticed the boys staring at the food excitedly. I noticed happy walking around my ankles, "aw i almost for got about you!" I said as i ran back into the kitchen and put happys fish mixture into a bowl. I brought it back to the dinning room and sat the bowl next to the table. "You really made him fish?" Gray asked. "Of course i did! A mix of grilled salmon and raw mackeral!" I told him. Igneel laughed while natsu spoke, "aw ever. Youre so sweet!" He told me. I blushed as i sat down. "Well everybody dig in!" I tokd them. Before anyone moved igneel spoke up, "what are we eating tonight, darling?" He asked me. "Well we have some beef wellington," i pointed towards thempkate of beef. "Truffle mashed potatoes, and grilled asparagus," i told him. "Wow. Beefwellington and truffles. Your fsther taught you well," he said. "I suppose he did," i replied. "Well lets eat!" Natsu said happily. Everyone got their food while i poured a glass of wine in each persons cup. Once everyone else got their food and i filled their cups i sat back down and was about to get my food. I looked at my plate and saw that it already had food on it, "dont worry. I got it for you," natsu told me as i sat down. We all began eating. The whole time we ate everybody kept complimenting my food which made me so very happy. When me and juvia were done the boys were still eating. We noticed happy approach me and meow, "aww hey little dude," i said as i picked him up. He looked at the table and tried to climb on it, i assume he wanted more food. "Here ya go. Ill go get more," i said. "Juvia hold him for me?" I asked as i held out happy to her. Juvia smiled widely, "really?" She held happy and hugged him, "hes so cute!" She said as i walked intot he kitchen. I deboned two more fish and cut them up. When i brought them back and put them into happys plate he leaped out of juvia arms and over to his bowl. As he went back to eating the biys had just finished. Gray took a sip of the wine, "wow i never knew wine could taste so good," he said. "Well ever chose the perfect glass for this meal," igneel told him. "Yeah she is perfect," natsu said. I felt myself blush a deep shade of red and juvia began giggling, "i meant the wine! Yeah- the wine is perfect," natsu tried to correct himself. Without saying anything i stood up and began collecting the plates. "Would anyone like tea or coffee?" I asked. They all said they would take tea. I brought the dishes into the kitchen with some help from juvia and we got them all in the sink. "Could u take the kettle off the heat?" I asked her. She nodded and moved the kettle that was now whistling. I took out five cups and made lady gray for each one of us. Me and juvia brought the teacups out and gave one to everyone. "Juvia, little more help please?" I asked her. She nodded and followed me back into the kitchen. I took the lava cakes out of the oven and set them on a large serving tray. I grabbed spoons for everyone and handed them to juvia, "here," i told her. We carried the cakes out and set them on the table, "chocolate lava cakes. Enjoy!" I said. Natsu looked like he was drooling, "lava cakes?" Gray asked. "Doesnt that mean theyre like liquid in the inside?" Natsu asked. I nodded, "and juvia helped me make them!" I said. Juvia blushed, "well i- i didnt do much," she said. "Come on! dont sell yourself short babe,"  gray said. Juvia looked up at him shocked and i couldnt stop myself from giggling. "I mean- i- sorry," gray finally said. He looked down with a blush on his cheeks. Natsu was about to say something out i handed him a lava cake and a spoon so he shutup. Juvia got the cakes for her and gray and i handed one to igneel as well. I took one for myself and cut into it. The chocolate flowed out and onto my spoon. Everyone was eating but before long natsu was done and complimenting me, "wow ever. That was amazing," he said. I felt myself blush again, "it was nothing," i told him. "Nothing? That cooking was amazing!" He said. "For once ima have to agree with pinky," gray said. "Indeed. Ive never tasted better food," igneel said. "See ever, we all think youre a great cook!" Juvia agreed. "I guess" i said. "You guess? That eas the best food ive ever tasted!" Natsu said as he wrapped his arms around me, "would you want to eat it everyday?" Juvia asked cheekily. Without thinking natsu replied, "of course. Why wouldnt i-" he pulled away and had a bluch on his face, "alright juvia stop trying to embaress me!" He said. This cause all of us to laugh. We laughed and laughed until i couldnt breathe anymore. When we finally calmed down i looked at the clock, "oh my! Its already 930!" I said. Juvia looked at the clock, "we have to rest for tommorow!" She said worried. "Ill walk you home," gray told her. She blushed and nodded. "Thanks for the meal, ever. See you at your match tommorow," gray said. "Bye ever. Remember! 4 oclock!" Juvia told me as they left. "Well we should get going. The girl needs her rest," igneel said as he stood up. Happy jumped into my lap and laid down, "it seems like someone doesnt want to leave," i said jokingly while petting happy. Natsu laughed, "maybe its because you spoiled him," he told me. I gasped, "i did not spoil him!" I yelled at natsu. He laughed even more, "oh really? You gave him four whole fish tonight!" He said. I looked down ashamed, "i just figured he would like it," i said. Natsu chuckled, "and he did" he told me, "but we have to go now, im sorry," he took happy out of my hands and handed him to igneel. "Goodbye ever. Thankyou for being such a gracious host," igneel said as he walked away. I stood up as natsu did, "bye igneel. Hope to see you tommorow!" I called out to him as he left. Natsu stood next to me, "dont you have to go with him?" I asked natsu. He smirked, "yeah but he can wait a few minutes," he told me. I was facing him with my back to the kitchen wall as natsu walked closer to me, "i have a special thankyou," natsu said. He kept walking closer to me and out of instinct i backed up. I hit the wall behind menas he got in my face. He put both his arms on the wall around me and i was anout to speak when he kissed me. It took me by surprise and made me gasp. My gasp allowed natsu to slip his tongue into my mouth. As his tongue explored my mouth i felt his one hand move to my hip. As his tongue danced with mine i couldnt help myself from emmiting a whimper of pleasure. When i did this i felt natsu tighten his grip on my hip. Natsu finally pulled away, red faced and panting. "Thankyou," he said. I looked at him quizically, "for making that dinner. For caring about me. For not giving up on me even though i know ive been being annoying. Listen. I promise that eventually i will-" i out my finger up to his lips and shut him up, "its okay natsu," i told himas i stared into his eyes, "you dont need to thank me. I should thank you. You are amazing and youve given me the opportunity to love and be loved," i moved my finger from his lips as i finished talking. Natsus face turned and even brighter shade of red, "yeah. Love." He mumbled. Usually i would freak out at this but because of what i heard the other day i need to stay calm. "You should go. Before igneel gets bored," i told him. He nodded his head and i walked him to the door. When we got to the door he turned around, "ill be rooting for you tommorow," he kissed my cheek before walking away and getting in the corvette. I waved them off as igneel drove away. Once they were gone i closed the door behind me and jumped up and down excitedly.

Juvias POV
As me and gray sama walked to my house it was silent, "so juvia-" gray sama spoke, "yes?" I looked up at him. We kept walking but stopped out front of my house, "i know you have feelings for me," he said. I nodded my head, "i dont try to hide it, really," i admitted. Gray chuckled, "yeah i can tell. But the thing is... I-i-" he kept stuttering. I have never seen my gray sama so flustered before, 'is this it? The moment ive been waiting for?!? Calm down juvia! Do not faint!' I reminded myself to stay calm. Gray was still flustered so i took his hand in mine, "whatever it is graysama, its okay. Im ready to listen," i told him calmly. He breathed in deep before speaking, "see the thing is i- i um- juvia i like you too." He said. I blinked away my surprise, "you- you do?" I asked cautiously. "Of course i do. I just- dont know how to say it," he looked down with a blush as he spoke, "oh gray sama!" I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him close. I felt him hug me back, he was cold but it felt nice. When i pulled away i was about to speak whenhe kissed me! 'Oh my god! Its happening! Everybody stay calm!' My mind was going crazy with thoughts. I started to focus on his lips. They were ice cold but soft. I felt his tongue at my lower lip so i immediatly parted them for him. His tongue was as cold as his lips but sweet. He tasted like everything id ever imagined and so much more. I felt his hand on the small of my back bringing me closer to him. I felt myself whimper just as he pulled away, "i-im sorry," he said as he looked down. "Please dont be sorry. I wanted that....so much," i admitted. He smiled at me, "so you need to go in?" Just as i was about to answer gajeel  threw the door open, "and what the hell was that?" He asked. I blushed, "gajeel that was- um-" i tried to explain but he interupted me, "listen here ice queen," he pointed at gray, "ive been watching over her for years now. Dont hurt her!" He said menacingly before walking back into the house. "Uh- why is gajeel in your house?" My gray sama asked me. I looked down, "he uh- hes my roomate," i told him. He looked surprised so i explained, "he was really my only friend in phantomlord so when my father died and we left phantom lord we got a place together," i told him. He nodded, "so youre not-" i didnt let him finish, "oh god no! Thats levys man! Beside gajeel is like an older brother to me!" I told him. "Okay then, i understand. And i promise, i wont hurt you," he said before kissing me on the cheek and walking away. "Will i see you at the match?" I yelled as he kept walking, "of course. Ill see you there beautiful," he yelled back. 'He called me beautiful' i could still feel the butterflies in my tummy doing flips. When i walked gajeel was standing there, "i want to hear every detail," he told me.

Evers POV
After i did the dishes i heard the front door open. I dried my hands and called out, "ethan, s'that you?" I asked. I heard footsteps coming closer, "yeah it me," he called back. I breathed a sigh of relief. He scared me for a moment. When he walking in he didnt look too happy. "Howd it go?" I asked. "Not well," he told me. He explained to me what had happened and i agreed with him that i will do everything i can to help the strauss'. Id like to talk to lisanna about it tommorow if i can. After we finally talked abit and told eachother about our days i stood up, "well i have to get some sleep. Big match tommorow," i said as i walked upstairs. I fell asleep thinnking about how tommorow would play out...
