Chapter 32- self defense time

Evers POV
I woke up to the sounds of my alarm at 430 am and went the the bathroom. I was super tired but i would do anything to be able to defend myself. After brushing my teeth and washing my face i went to my room and put my school clothes in my bag. I got dressed in a tanktop and sweat pants and had my hair up in a bun. When i looked at the clock it was almost 5! I quickly ran downstairs and made myself a cup of tea and a piece of toast. I left a note for ethan before running out the door. When i got outside erza was just arriving. She wore a tank top and shorts, "arent you cold?" I asked her. "Well once we start running, ill be fine," she said. "Can i put my bag in your house? I figured well come back here to get our stuff," she said. I nodded and lead her in, "you can just put it on the dining table," i told her. She nodded and placed her bag on the dining table before turning around, "alright lets get jogging! Ill go easy on you since youre new," she said a bit sarcastically. "Thanks, lets go," i said shutting the door behind us. Me and erza ran around the park about a hundred times when i asked, "so how long are we going to do this?". "Well weve only been out here an hour, i say we can stop in a half hour. Thatll give us time to get food and dressed before heading to school," she said. "Okay just another half hour," i said saining myself. "Here, i have water," erza said handing me a bottle. "Thanks, i needed that," i told her. "Always be prepared." We kept running for a bit and when we turned the corner again i noticed the sunrise, "wow, its so nice," i said. "Yeah, thats why morning runs are the best," erza added. The sky was a light blue mixing with red from the sunlight. "You see this every morning?" I asked, and erza nodded. We finished the run in silence, "i think thats good, we can head back now," erza said slowing down. "Oh thank god!" I said taking another sip of water. "We can go to a cafe for breakfast if youd like," erza said. "Nonsense, i can make breakfast," i told her. Erza smiled, "oh well, jellal was going to meet us..." she said trailing off. "Oh thats okay! Tell him to come to my house," i told her. This made erza smile more, "are you sure? You dont have to make us breakfast and i really cant cook," she admitted. "I promise, its fine, besides well need a good breakfast if were going to work out after school as well," i said. Erza nodded, "okay lets go,". "Its almost 7, is ethan going to be awake soon?" Erza asked. "He should be, or he will be when i start frying bacon," i said. "Oh thats great, jellal will be here soon," she said. "Awesome, you can go get dressed in the bathroom. im going to start cooking," i told her heading to the kitchen. She nodded as she grabbed her bag off of the table. Quickly i went into the kitchen and washed my hands before i began cooking. I took out the box of pancake mix and began making it as i was also heating up the pan for the bacon. I let the pancake mix sit for a moment as i began placing the bacon onto the hot pan. The smell immediatly filled the whole room. I took the kettle out of the cabinent and filled it water before putting it on the stove to boil. I began making medium sized pancakes. I made about five when erza came back into the kitchen. "It smells great. Need help with anything?" She asked, i nodded, "sure, want to grab four plates from that shelf and some silverware so you can set the table," i said as i put more bacon on the pan. "Sure simple enough," erza said before grabbing the plates and forks and bringing them into the dining room. I grabbed a large plate and put all of the pancakes that i had made onto it and grabbed another plate where i put the bacon. 'Crap! Toast!' I put four pieces of bread in the toaster as i grabbed the mugs and tea bags. I took the remaining food off of the pans and put them into the plates when i heard a knock on the door, "oh thats jellal!" Erza said before running to the door. I brought the pancakes and bacon into the kitchen as jellal was walking in, "hello ever, good morning," he said as he took off his jacket. "Morning jellal, sorry but i have to go wake ethan," i said as i walked past him and erza and up the stairs. When i got to ethans room i knocked on the door, "ethan! Wake up!" I almost yelled, i heard him stirring behind the door when he answered, still in his boxers. "Get dressed and come downstairs. Erza and jellal are here for breakfast," i told him. He rubbed his eyes and began to look more awake, "huh- uh, okay," he said before walking back into his room. I walked back downstairs and when i got to the dining room, erza stood up, "need any help?" She asked. "You can help me bring the tea and toast and stuff in," i told her. She nodded and followed me, "be right back," i told jellal. We got into the kitchen and i handed her the kettle and a plate with four mugs and tea bags on it, "here you can take this," i told her. She nodded and took it into the other room while i grabbed a plate for the toast and the butter. 'Ooh the syrup!' I quickly grabbed the syrup out of the cabinet and walked into the other room with everything just as ethan was walking down the steps. "Come in here ethan, we just got breakfast ready," i told him. "Oh hey guys," ethan said when he walked into the room. "Hello ethan," jellal said, "good morning," erza said. "Well lets eat!" I said. We all ate and talked about school when mine and erzas training session came up, "so why the sudden interest in delf defense?" Jellal asked making us all go quiet. "I see its not a good topic. Very well if you dont feel comfortable shar-" "i dont mind." I interupted him. "I mean, i cant keep it a secret, honestly," i finished. "Ever, i understand if you dont want to share," jellal told me while erza nodded. "I want to share. You guys are my friends, right?" I asked making them both nod. "Well if theres anybody who i could talk to about this its my friends," i said. "Its okay ever, take your time," ethan said softly trying to make sure i dont get upset. "Well you see, a few nights ago i walk walking home from the store when i ran into tony," i said. "You mean anthony from lamia scale?" Jellal asked making me nod, "well when i ran into him he was being really.....violent. And i dont need to go into detail but lets just say that he did somethings to me that i did not consent to," i finished. Jellal gasped, "is this true? Have you contacted the police?" He asked. I nodded again before i spoke, "igneel is going to bring me to the prosecutor so we can form a case on friday. I dont really think hell go to prison or anything but i hope he gets at least some kind of punishment," i said. "He better, that bastard-" ethan start speaking angrily but i held up my hand, "any way, thats why i want to learn self defense. So nothing like that ever happens again!" I said. "Well dont worry, i know that you have plenty of people who are willing to help you," jellal told me while erza smiled. "Lets start cleaning up so we can leave," i said. "You go get dressed ever, well clean up," jellal said. "Are you sure, thankyou!" I said before running upstairs. I got into my room and i actually felt so much better after talking to someone about this. Friends really are a great thing.
