Chapter 1- my first day

Ever's POV
I woke up in my tiny bedroom. I stretched and let my eyes adjust to the light. 'First day of school...' I thought to myself. Its been almost four months since our father died. It seems like it was just yesterday.

Flashback
"Ever...." My dad called to me from his bed in this shabby hospital. I walked closer to him as tears came to my eyes. "We both know im not going to make it," he told me. I started crying harder which made my brother stand up, "dont even say that dad!" Ethan yelled. My dad chuckled slightly before speaking again. "Its okay kids. It will be fine." He told us. "H-how?!" I asked, tears streaming down my face. "How will it be fine? We have no parents now!" I explained to him while ethan watched. "Dont worry, you have enough money to live for the rest of your lives....." He slowly said. I looked at him quizically before he took out a small piece of paper. "On my will it says that my money will be left to you two. Here is the account number," he told me as he handed ethan the paper. "But-" i tried to speak, "thankyou dad," ethan cut me off. "I love you both so much. Just know that i will always be proud of you two," my father told us. "We love you too dad!" Me and ethan stayed in that hospital room all night, crying until my father passed away.

Since then ethan has always been trying to protect me, even when i dont need it. Ive only ever been asked onto one date and he wouldnt let me go. My father left us more money than we could ever have imagined but we try to spend only small amounts. We decided we would move to magnolia and go to my dream school, fairytail high! We pay our bills and food expenses each month while saving the rest. I got dressed into my new school uniform and noticed how cute it was. The uniform was the same as any private school uniform except black. The skirt, jacket and tie were all black but we could wear any color undershirt we wanted. I chose purple. After brushing my teeth, washing my face and getting dressed i walked to ethans room before banging on the door. "Ethan!!!!" I screamed his name. I heard him stirring behind the door before he answered, not even dressed. "Ethan, hurry up! Get dressed or you wont have time for breakfast!" "Whatever," ethan replied before closing the door and getting dressed. After we ate breakfast we headed to the school. It was very large and had lots of people walking around it. When we got inside we were told to go to the principals office for our schedules. When we reached his office we knocked on the large door. "Come in~" a sing songy voice replied. We opened the doors and were greeted by a beautiful white haired girl. "Hellooo~" she was still speaking in a sing songy like tone, "you must be our new transfers~" she sang as she put paperwork into a folder. "Yes, im ever and this is ethan" i told her. "Its nice to meet you, my name is mira." She told us. She was rummaging through a desk before pulling out two papers. "Here ya go," she handed the papers to us. "On here is your schedule and lockers," she told us. I looked at the paper before ethan spoke up, "why is there a blank space at the end here?" He asked her. I noticed that too. "Oh well every student here at fairytail high must partake in at least one club," she told us. Ethan sighed heavily before she spoke again, "unless you have a job or child, you cannot get out of this," she smiled sweetly. Ethan was about to say something until i pulled him out of the room. "Well thankyou mira, it was nice meeting you," i said as i dragged him out the door. "Nice to meet you too!" She waved to us as we left. "What was that for?!" Ethan asked as he rubbed his ear where i was pulling him. "You are going to behave! Understand me!" I yelled at him. "Yes mam," he replied. "Good! Now, ill meet you out front after school, get to class." I told him. He huffed before walking away. Well, better find my locker. There was still about ten minutes until class so i walked around looking for my locker. 'Lets see....locker 156...' I was looking at all of the lockers, surveying their numbers when i bumped into something and fell on my butt. I looked up and saw a tall, goth looking guy with long dark hair. "I-im sorry!" I told him as i stood up. He looked me once over before replying, "yeah whatever just watch where youre going," i walked away quickly before he could yell at me. I finally found my locker with five minutes to spare! I opened the locker and began putting my stuff in. Before i had all my books in i heard someone talking to me, "hey," i looked up and saw a smiling pink haired boy. "Uh- hi." I replied, not sure why he was talking to me. "Are you new?" He asked me. I nodded my head but didnt speak. "Im natsu, nice to meet you!" He held out his hand for me to shake it. "Im ever," I took his hand and immediatly felt warmth envolope me. I pulled my hand away because the sudden warmth frieghtened me. "Sorry i shouldve warned you," he told me. "Im like a portable heater," he chuckled as he spoke. I shut my locker and began to walk away. I didnt want to be rude, but i didnt feel comfortable talking to cute guys. "Hey wait," he grabbed my wrist before i got too far. "What class do you have first?" He asked me. "Uh... Health," i told him but he was still holding onto my wrist. I was about to say something else when he was punched in the side of the head. Natsu was quickly knocked down but he got up just as fast. He assumed a fighting stance and looked to who had punched him, ethan. "Ethan what are you-" i was about to ask him but he yelled, "why the hell are you touching her like that!" He yelled at natsu. "I wasnt-" natsu tried to explain but ethan was already angry. "Dont you dare-" i jumped in between the boys before a fight could start. People were starting to watch us, wondering what was going on. "Ethan stop!" I yelled in his face which caused him to lower his fists. "We were just talking," i explained to him. Ethan looked at me before answering, "well he doesnt have to hold your wrist to speak to you!" Ethan scoffed. "I was just-" natsu began to speak but i put my hand up signalling for him to be quiet. "Well if i allow him to hold my wrist you are not allowed to stop him," i told ethan. "But he was-" "i dont care!" I cut ethan off. "I can take care of myself!" I snapped at him. He finally calmed down and so did natsu. "Fine....i guess im sorry,' ethan finally apologized. "Its natsu you have to say sorry to," i told him. "Fine....sorry," he quietly told natsu. Natsu smiled brightly, "no harm dude! You should join the boxing club! You got a nice right hook!" Natsu told him. The bell rang and we were the only ones left in the hall. We looked scared before natsu spoke, "dont worry. You guys are new so im sure ms. Prolyusica will let you guys be late just this once," "you have health too?" I asked him. He nodded and smiled before ethan spoke, "great! My first class has got to be with you two!" He complained. I slapped his arm lightly as we walked to class. When we got to health class natsu introduced me to two girls named lucy and levy. Lucy was busty with long blond hair while levy was tiny with short blue hair. He also introduced me to a guy named gray. Gray had short black hair and he was cold to the touch. When i shook his hand i recoiled. "Shouldve warned you," natsu told me. "Gray is like a freezer," lucy said. We all talked for a bit until the teacher walked in. She was a tall older woman with light pink hair. The class period was spent listening to ms porlyusica talk about the human body and affective medicines. When the bell ran we all got up. Natsu was walking with me until i asked, "im going to my locker, why are you coming?" He looked at me quizically before answering, "my locker is next to yours?" I laughed at my own foolishness as we walked. When we got close to our lockers i could see the tall goth guy that i bumped into earlier. I stopped abruptly and stood behind natsu. "Whats wrong?" He asked me confused. "That guy." I pointed at the tall guy. "I bumped into him earlier. Hes scary," i explained. Natsu laughed out loud before answering, "thats gajeel! Hes cool!" Natsu grabbed my hand and quickly led me to him. As we walked i could feel his body heat radiated onto me and my face was heating up."natsu whatre yo-" "yo gajeel!!" Natsu called out. The scary guy turned and faced us. He looked at me confused before asking natsu, "whos the girl?" Natsu held onto my shoulders and pushed me towards gajeel, "this is ever, shes new!" Natsu said. Gajeel looked at me before asking, "arent you the girl that bumped into me earlier?" My face turned red as i answered, "yes but i wasnt paying attention and i dont know my way around and im really sorry i just-" i stopped when gajeel put his head on top of my head, "its cool." He told me. "Im not mad or anything. Just be careful next time," he told me. I nodded my head. "So anyway what year are you?' He asked. I looked up and responded "oh, im a sophomore!" Natsu looked surprised which made me wonder, "what grade are you guys in?" Natsu smiled before answering, "we are juniors!" "So natsu, you coming to train today?" Gajeel asked him. "Yeah i just gotta get jellal to help me with some work first," he answered. As they talked i went to my locker and pulled out my environmental science book. Before i walked away i heard natsu, "hey ever!! Ill catch you later!" He said to me. I waved at him before walking off.
