Chapter 39- monday

Ethans POV
Waking up on monday mornings has to be the worst thing ever. When i got out of bed i could hear ever dowstairs, probaly making our lunches. She usually makes natsu something special but ive gotten used to it by now. I got into my school clothes and was headed down the steps when i got a call. Thats wierd, people usually text me, i thought as i answered the phone which said it was erza. "Hey erza, whats up?" I asked her. Her voice came through paniced and a bit shaky, "h-hey ethan, could you meet me at the cafe? It-its really important," she said. It almost sounded like she was crying. "Yeah. Why? Is everything alright?" I asked her as i entered the kitchen. Ever gave me a confused look as erza spoke, "n-no, well- i dont know, i need someone to talk to," she said. "Okay, ill be right there," i told her before hanging up. "Who was that?" Ever asked me as she handed me a cup of tea. "That was erza, could i get a to-go cup? Im meeting her at the cafe," i explained. Ever nodded as she handed me the cup, "okay, is everything okay? Oh, dont forget your lunch," she said. I nodded, "yeah i think eevrythings fine, ill see you later!" I told her as i ran out the door. I walked quickly to the cafe because i was actually worried. I have never heard erza sound so paniced before. When i got to the cafe i could see her inside sitting by herself at a table. I approached the table and sat down across from her, "hey erza, whats up?" I asked her. She looked up and her eyes looked a bit puffy as if she was crying. "I-i uh- so you know how jellal is bringing me to the orphanage for thanksgiving?" She asked me. I nodded, "yeah, isnt that good?" I asked her as i took a sip of my tea. "Well yes but- but- i- i shouldnt go," she put her head down as she spoke. "Wha-why shouldnt you go? Why not?" I asked her, worried. "Well- the last time i saw everyone at the orphanage we were at eachothers necks. Jellal and ultear brought them to the orphanage and turned them around, i havent spoken to them since," she admitted. "Well-what do you mean, turned them around?" I asked. Erza looked up, "well- they- they were all criminals! Bu-but jellal and ultear helped them get past that," erza said. I nodded, "okay so if theyre past that, why cant you go back?" I asked her. She shook her head, "because the last time i saw them it turned into a huge brawl," she explaimed. "Okay, well if theyre different now, you should be good. Im sure that if they were in the wrong when this happened theyll be able to see it," i told her. "Besides, jellal would be pretty heart broken if you said no. He loves you alot erza, he just wants to show that to everyone he calls family," i finished. Erza looked back at me and smiled, "thanks ethan, im glad i called you," she said. "Oh yeah, why did you call me? Why not ever or mira?" I asked her. She shrugged, "i dont know- i guess i just wanted a male perspective on it. Besides i skipped mine and evers run this morning because i was too upset," she finished. "Oh i understand. Well im sure she would have said the same thing i did," i told her. Erza nodded, "well its almost about time for first period," she said as she stood. "Aw, already? Man is it thanksgiving yet?" I whined. "Not yet. Be patient," erza said as we left the cafe. The school day was as normal as usual, except for the fact that natsu was staring at ever a million times more than usual. When we got to practice, i finally asked him. "Yo natsu, you just horny today or something?" I asked sarcastically. Natsus face turned red, "wh-what? Why would you?" He didnt even finish as the other guys started laughing. "Just youve been staring at ever way more than usual. What, did she gain weight or something?" I asked. Natsu shook his head, "n-no not at all- she looks amazing- perfect even! I- i just- uhg nevermind," he said storming off into the locker rooms. "Well someone isnt happy-" igneel said as natsu stormed away. "Yeah, what got his panties in a knot?" Gray asked. "I didnt mean to actually offend him," i admitted as we all walked to the locker rooms. "It probably wasnt you. Hes probably just being an idiot," gajeel said while gray nodded. When we got into the locker rooms natsu was changing while mumbling to himself. "Natsu, dude, i didnt mean to actually offend you, it was just a joke," i told him. He turned around and scoffed, "yeah i know, im not actually mad at you," he said. "Then what are you mad at?" Laxus asked. "I dont even know- myself- and you ethan," natsu said turning back to me. "Me? What did i do? You just said you werent mad at me!" I said getting defensive. "Im not actually mad at you i just- uhg why does love have to be so fucking complicated?" Natsu said sounding less angry and more upset. "What are you talking about, dude?" Gray asked, confused. "Is this about me getting in the way of your confessions?" I asked him. He nodded, "yes- and no- uhg i know its not your fault! I just- wish it was easier," he said. We were all dressed, headed back to the gym when jellal spoke, "well natsu, if theres one thing ive learned its that love will happen when its time," he told natsu. "Alright boys! Workout time!" Igneel said as we entered the gym again.

Evers POV
"He was staring at you so hard, though!" Lisanna said making me shake my head, "no he wasnt, i barely even noticed," i told her. "He was though! Did something happen? He looked like he was undressing you with his eyes all day!" Juvia said making my face heat up. "Oh~ has natsu got the perv in him?" Laki chuckled. "Alright girls, enough chit chat! In the pool," aquarius demanded. When we were done swimming we had a bit more time so aquarius talked with us, "by the way, ever, the principal of lamia scale, obba, will be waiting for you in the principals office after last period," she told me before we left. "Oh-okay," i said, forgetting all about that. "Dont worry, shes a but rough around the edges but shes a good woman," aquarius told me as we left. "Im sure itll be fine, ever," lisanna told me. "Yeah, its alright. We can talk about it tommorow!" Laki said as they walked away. "Are you nervous?" Juvia asked me as we entered the gym, "of course im nervous," i told her. "Dont be," she said as i felt her grab my hand, "were all here for you," she said with a smile on her face. Just then the guys came out of the locker room, "what are you two dating now?" Gajeel asked sarcastically. "I would assume after what happened on saturday-" laxus said making juvia pull her hand away from mine. "You dicks! You know were just friends!" I yelled at them making them all laugh. "Yeah, besides, ever is all mine," natsu said as he hugged me. "And i am gray samas!" Juvia said as she hugged gray. "Y-yeah, all mine," gray said quietly. "So is that what happened at the party?" Igneel asked from behind us. I could feel my face get red, "n-no it wasnt- nothing-" he cut me off, "chill out darling. I know what high school parties are like, i wont snitch," he said. "Uhg- lets not tell the whole world, okay?" I said to the boys. "Hey i didnt say a word!" Ethan said. "Me either!" Jellal agreed. "Can we just go to photography?" Natsu asked me, "sure i have a bunch of photos from homecoming!" I told him. "Oh and by the way, i have that meeting with the principal of lamia scale after school," i said. Jellal nodded, "yess, ill be there to assist you," he said. "Ill be there too," ethan told me. "Shit, well i cant let them show me up. Ill go to," natsu said. "You dont have to natsu, really," i said. Natsu smiled, "no its okay, ill get to drive you home," he said. "Well actually we are going food shopping after this," ethan told him. "Ah- okay, well im still going to wait," he said. When we got to photography lucy and jason we there, "hey guys, got the pictures?" Jason asked. "Are you going to put them in the paper?" I asked them as i took out my pictures. Lucy nodded, "were going to pick a few out of all of these that jason thinks are......cool," she said making me giggle. "Okay well knock yourselves out!" Natsu said as he handed them about three handfuls of photos. "Wow natsu, you were only supposed to include the best parts!" Lucy said. "But everything was the best!" He said happily.

Ethans POV
Me and jellal met natsu and ever right outside of the front doors. "Ready when you are, ever," jellal said as we got to the principals office. Both of them walked in and shut the door leaving me and natsu outside. Jellal came back out a second later, "it seems like they want to have a female only conversation," jellal said as he shut the door. We waited outside of that door for almost an hour before ever came out. When she did she smiled at natsu as he approached her, "so is everything okay?" Natsu asked her. "Well yeah- shes a really nice woman. Odd but....charming," she gigled. "Yeah but what is she going to do about fuckface?" I asked. Jellal scoffed, "dont curse so close to the principals office you idiot," he scolded me. "Ah- okay. What is she going to do about tony?" I asked noticing ever get tense at the sound of his name. "Well uh- i gave her the number to lahars office. She said that as long as i am pressing charges, and there is evidence, he will be expelled." She answered. "Thats good, right?" I asked. Ever nodded, "yeah its good, i just want him to know that he cant do what he did," she answered. "And hes going to," jellal answered. "Yeah ill make sure of it," i heard natsu mumble. "So now you two have to go shopping?" Natsu asked. I nodded, "yeah were gonna get stuff for thanksgiving!" I said happily. "Ooh that sounds nice. Make sure to get lots of potatoes and a nice big turkey!" Natsu told ever making her giggle. "Of course natsu. Well have a huge turkey and lots of mashed potatoes," she told him as we got into the parking lot. "Well i guess well have to hang tommorow then," natsu said as we got to the car. Ever nodded, "yeah. I really cant wait to meet your brother on thursday," she said. "Yeah dont remind me," he said sarcastically. "Bye natsu ill see you tommorow," ever said as she gave him a quick kiss. "Bye ever i- i- ill see you tommorow," he finally said before walking off. 'Just say it, asshole!' I thought to myself. "See you guys!" Jellal daid as he got into his car. "To the grocery store?" Ever asked as she got into the passenger seat. "But of course, lets go," i said as i pulled away.
