Chapter 22- a fair match

Evers POV
When we got to everyone i sat down next to natsu, "are you ready?" He asked me. I nodded, i wasnt really paying attention to him, instead i was scanning the crowd of lamia scale students. I spotted a group of people approaching us, "here it goes," lucy said. "What?" Ethan asked her, "gray and that guy lyon grew up together," natsu answered. "Plus sherry is..... Lovely," lucy answered. "Shelia is really nice though!" Wendy said happily. "Jura is a quite good council president," jellal said while erza nodded. "Whos the frat looking guy?" Ethan asked. I was still looking through the crowd but i was listening to their conversation. "Thats toby. His big eyebrow friend is yuka," mira said. "So are they....nice?" Ethan asked. "For the most part, yes." Laxus answered him. "Something wrong?" Natsu leaned in close as he asked me this. "I uh-" i stopped speaking because i saw tony walking towards me. I assume natsu followed my gaze because he asked, "who is that?" He asked me. I heard juvia gasp next to me and i felt ethan jump to his feet. "Fucking hell no," ethan said as he walked past me. Juvia stood up as well and followed ethan. I noticed tony stop a few feet from me when juvia and ethan stood in front of him. They were talking for a moment and i noticed juvia raised her voice, "no you cant!" She said. Everyone was watching and erza asked, "ever who is that guy?". Natsu looked at me worried as i answered, "thats- thats tony- my.....- my ex boyfriend," i said. I heard mira gasp. Both gray and erza approached them as well. Now all four of them were trying to keep him from me. 'I cant let them coddle me like this!' I stood up quickly and walked towards them. I stood in between ethan and juvia, "ever, we got this," ethan told me. I ignored him, "tony," i said plainly. "Wow ever, time has been good to you i see," he said as he looked me up and down. "Tony what do you want?" I asked. "What? I cant catch up with an old friend?" As he asked me this i felt natsu come up from behind me and wrap and arm around my waist, "i wouldnt really call us old friends. You ruined me the last time i saw you and i had to pry ethan off of your uncoscious body," i said without batting an eye. 'Stay calm. You got this' "well the past is the past. I see you have a boyfriend," he said motioning towards natsu. "Who the fuck do you-" natsu began to get upset but i spoke over him, "and what does that matter to you?" I asked getting angry. 'You will not wreck my newfound happiness'. "I was just wondering how...." Tony trailed off as he spoke. "And what the hell do you mean by that?" Juvia asked. "Did you just come here to start a fight?" Ethan asked. "If you boys must fight, take it outside, please." Erza said. "Dont you come here and start-" gray was about to yell at him but juvia did, "you should just leave," she told him. "So ever," tony said, completly ignoring everyone else. "Howd you get this one? I noticed youre dressing a bit....sluttier now," he said looking towards my legs. I tensed up and natsu pushed past me and stood in front of him. "You want me to beat you senseless like ethan did?" Natsu asked angrily. "Chill out man. Im sure youre a cool dude. So tell me, how easy is she now?" He asked. I noticed natsu clench his fist, "do you want to die?" Gray asked. "I can help you with that," ethan said. "Erza, can i kill him now?" Juvia asked. "I suppose we can. With a mouth a foul as that he should be put in his place," she said. Erza had a face that ive never seen before, she looked like she was going to pull a weapon out of her pocket and go after him. "What the fuck are you trying to do?" I asked furiously. "I was just wondering how much youve changed since ive seen you last," he spoke right through natsu as if he wasnt there but he turned his attention back to natsu when he spoke to him, "so tell me dude, really. How easy is she?" Tony asked and natsu moved foward like he was going to attack him. I noticed erza and ethan clench clench their fists as well. "Has she fucked you yet?" Juvia gasped and gray held her back while ethan and erza lunged at him. Before they got anywhere near him natsu had punched him directly in the face and sent him flying onto his ass. "How fucking dare you?!" He screamed. Ethan and gray gasped at the anger that came out of his voice. Tony looked up with a bloody nose and a split lip, she wiped his face before speaking, "so still a prude i see," as he said this i heard natsu growl fiercely, "holy shit," gray said as we all watched not knowing what to do. Laxus and jellal ran over, "what the hell is-" before they could asked tony stood up and got in natsus face, "than why are you still with her man? Look at her. You cant really love a girl like her," as he said this i felt a tear stream down my face. 'No i cant- i cant let him make me cry-' i tried to stop myself but i couldnt. I let out a small whimper and tears began streaming down my face. Juvia and erza both ran to my side and as they did this natsu turned around. He looked angry before but when he saw me crying his face completly changed. Before natsu could do anything ethan knocked tony on his ass once again with a punch to the face. Before tony could speak or stand up natsu kicked him hard in the side while he was on the ground. "I think thats enough," jellal said. "No i think he deserves a little more," laxus told natsu. Natsu nodded and kicked him two more times before stopping. By this point both of the principals and coaches were running over to us. Porlyusica came and took tony to her nurses office. "What are you kids doing?" Principal makarov asked us, not exactly mad but not happy either. "What is going on here?" The old woman who i assume is lamia scales principal asked. I couldnt stop myself from crying even more and i even fell to my knees. When i did this natsu turned around and came closer to me. He sat down next to me and enveloped me into a hug. "Trust me when i say that natsu had all the right to do what he did," laxus said. "Oh did he now?" The old woman asked. "Anthony was purposely trying to get a rise out of every one of us," jellal said. "I would hurt that little insect more if-" jellal put his hand up to stop erza from continuing. "He was being a piece of-" this time gray covered juvias mouth to stop her. "In fact i saw the whole thing," the large man who i think is called jura said. "I do believe tony deserved that," jura said. "Well, ill have to speak to him first. But ill let you off the hook since no one was seriously injured," she said. "Thankyou ooba. I promise it will not happen again," principal makarov said. This whole time i was still on the floor crying while natsu hugged me tight, "Im sorry baby..." Natsu whispered in my ear. I tried to control my breathing and stop the tears, "everything he said was wrong. Of course i can love a girl like you. Youre the only girl i could ever love .." He said. "I- i- natsu im so sorry!" I finally said. "Its okay baby. I promise. Please, dont let that ruin your day." He said as he stood me up. He finally released me as i nodded. Juvia and ethan came up to me, "ever why did you come? You shouldve let me-" ethan was about to say but mira shushed him. "I understand why you did this, ever. I hope it helped," juvia told me. "What are you talking about?" Gray asked. "I think i understand," erza said as she smiled. "I- i was just- trying to be independent," i finally said as i wiped my eyes. "Oh i see," laxus said knowingly. "Yes i understand now. But ever, you do not always need to be independent," jellal said. "You have people around you who will always lend a hand when they can," he finished. I looked around and saw everyone smiling and nodding at me happily. I smiled back, "i guess youre right. Thankyou guys," i said. Just then a white haired male approached and stood next to jura, "well hello gray. Im so terribly sorry about that neanderthal," he said. I noticed gray tensed up, "lyon. What do you want?" Gray said casually. I looked at juvia quizically, she explained to me that gray an lyon were raised togther in the same foster home. Apparently when their foster mother died they split up. Gray got an apartment and started school here where as lyon joined lamia scale. Apparently lyon had a thing for juvia that wasnt returned. "Hello my beautiful juvia," lyon said extending his hand. "Itd be wise for you to know that juvia is my girlfriend," gray said. Juvia smiled widely but lyon flinched, "is that so? Well i suppose i should take your feelings into consideration," lyon said. "And who is this beauty?" Lyon asked as he extended his hand to me. I heard natsu release a growl as this happened. "Im ever," i told him. "She is natsus girlfriend." Gray told him, "oh i didnt know," he responded. "Nice to meet you," i said.  "Are you on the swim team?" The big eye browed guy, yuka asked. I nodded my head, "yes her and juvia will be representing us today," erza said. "Well ill  let you know that sherry and shelia are not to underestimated," lyon said as we walked back towards our friends. "Oh shelias is here! I want to say hi to her!" Wendy said happily. "Sherry is....nice," lucy said. "The match will begin in one moment, swimmers, get ready!" Aqaurius said. Me and juvia nodded at eachother. Before i could walk away natsu grabbed my wrist, "im proud of you baby," he told me. He hugged me tight, "do the best you can," he told me. I nodded before me and juvia walked to our spots on the one side of the pool. Two pink haired girls were across from us, "hello,loves! My name is sherry!" She said happily. "Hi sherry, this is ever." Juvia introduced me. "Hi ever and juvia! I hope we have fun!" The younger girl said, "youre shelia?" I asked. Juvia nodded, "wow i must be infamous. How is wendy doing?" She asked. "Wendy is well." Juvia and her began talking but i was focusing on the pool. First we would do the most laps in five minutes. Next was a relay race. Me and juvia peeled off our tanktops and short before getting ready. Aquarius spoke, "get ready girls. Start at the bell!" She said. She waited a moment before blowing a whistle. I didnt mean to be rude but i jumped in before checking if juvia was ready. I swam as fast as i could, i was working off all of the anger i gained from tony. The water rushed through my hair and i could feel it all around me. It was so calming. I swam as much as i coukd but soon wnough i heard a whistle. I came up where i was and leaned on the wall. "Before announcing the winner of this round we will start the next round " aqaurius said. Juvia got out of the pool and stood behind me, "when you get back you have to slap my hand," she told me. I nodded before aquarius spoke, "again, go at the whistle!" She waited a moment before whistleing, me and sherry were in the water going as fast as we could. When i got back to juvia i noticed that shelia was already in the water. I got out just in time to see juvia rush past shelia and win this round. When she slapped my hand i jumped up and down happily. I heard our classmates all cheering, "yeah juvia! Show em what you got!" Gray screamed. "Go ever!" Ethan yelled. "Youre the best!" Natsu yelled. I felt myself blush. Aqauarius stood in front of the crowd, "i will jow announce the winners," as she said this natsu and gray came up to me and juvia and weapped a towel around us. "Nice job. I knew you guys could do it," gray said. "You guys were great!" Natsu said happily. "The winner of the first round with 32 laps is......ever vargas!" Aquarius said proudly. I jumped up and down excitedly. "The winner of the second round, by three seconds is..... Team fairytail!" Aqaurius called out. 👆"The whole school body went crazy. I noticed laxus kiss fried and jellal kissing erza. Gajeel picked levy up and swung her aroudn happily. Gray hugged juvia tightly just like cana did to lucy. Igneel came running up to us and oicked both me and juvia up, "you girls were great!" He said while he soun us around. Me and juvia giggled until he put us down. "Thanks igneel," juvia said happily. "Thankyou igneel, i tried hard," i told him. He smiled down at me, "please call me dad," he told me. "Thankyou....dad," i said shyly. I even noticed mira jump into ethans lap. "Baby, you did it!" Natsu said before he placed his lips on mine. The moment that our lips connected felt heavenly. His lips were warm and soft against mine. He pulled away just as everyone was approaching us, aquarius, laki and lisanna were first, "that was amazing!' Lisanna said happily as she held onto my hands. "You guys rocked!" Laki told us. "I am so proud of you girls," aquarius told us. "I am so proud of you guys!" Erza said happily. "That was so cool to watch!" Wendy said. "Way to go!" Levy congradulated us. "That was awesome!" Cana said. "Shes right. That was manly!"  Elfman told us. "Please dont call my girlfriend manly," natsu said plainly. "You made fairytail proud girls!" Laxus said. "Indeed. I believe you deserve a dinner," fried said. "A dinner?" Juvia asked. "Well thats what we said, right?" Lisanna said jokingly. "Me and gray want to take everyone out. Comeon, lets go!" Natsu said. "How are we all going to get there?" Ethan asked. Eventually we akk split into the different cars and drove to the restaurant. When we got there we got a large enough table for all of us. When we lrdered i got chicken and shrimp while natsu got steak and lobster. I dont remember what evryone ekse got. They all kept congradulating us on a good swim. "Really ever, i think dad would be proud," ethan told me. I thought about the holidays again and got upset, i tried to hide it. "Im sure he would. He always told us to do our best," i said. We all talked a bunch while we ate. Apparently fairytail and lamia scale had worked together restoring a childrens playgroud before and thats how they all knew eachother. "They all semmed pretty nice. Except for tony..." I said trailing off. "I dont understand why they even let him in their school," jellal said. "I know, they do intense psychological tests. They had to have seen that hes fucked up in the head," laxus said. "Perhaps he knows how to work his way around things such as that," igneel said. "Well since we are all almost done. What should we do afterwards?" Natsu asked, "i say we just go home. Im tired," romeo said while wendy nodded. "I dont want to go though," ethan said while i nodded. "Well you can stay at your significant others houses for the night," igneel said. "What are toy trying to do mr. Dragneel?" Aquarius said sarcastically. Igneel just shrugged. "I suppose that would be nice..." Erza said while hodling jellals hand. "Okay lets do it!" Bickslow said while holding up lisannas hand. We all agrees to meet up in the auditorium after school on monday. Evetually when we finished dinner gray and natsu both paid together. Me and ethan brought natsu and mira home with us. Laxus brought fried home with him. Juvia and gajeel thought it would be fun to bring levy and gray with them and have a huge sleepover. Elfman and lisanna agreed with that decision so they brought evergreen and bickslow. At first grandeena didnt want to let wendy go but after she had a talk with romeos dad he finally agreed saying that they wouldnt be sleeping in the same room. When me and ethan got home with natsu and mira i smiled happily. "Movie?" I asked. When i said this ethan lit up, "how about some video game?" He said. "Aw yes!" Natsu bounced, me and mira looked at eachother, "what game?" She asked. "You guys know im not that good," i told them. "Smash?" Natsu asked me. "Thats a game?" I asked, i heard ethan choke on his water when i said this. "Okay sorry, im not into video games!" I said. "Yes its a game. You picked a character and fight to the death," natsu told me. "Sounds easy enough," i told him. He shrugeed his shoulders, "not really," he said. "Its alot more complicated than that," ethan said as he stood up. "Ill go get my wii," he said as he walked upstairs. When he came down he began setting the wii up and put the game case in front of us. Me and mira looked at it for a moment until she spoke, "hey i know this game! Elfman and bickslow play this all the time!" She said. "Yeah we play with them once in a while," natsu said. I looked at him questiongly but he responded, "what? We have guys night once in a while!" He told me. I chuckled, "i guess i just cant imagine all you guys getting along for too long," i said. Natsu wrapped an arm around my neck, "well we still argue....alot. Hey ethan, next week you can join us. Laxus' house is cool," he finished. "Yeah sure. When is it?" Ethan asked him. "Next saturday, right?" Mira asked, natsu nodded, "i heard elfman and bickslow talking about it tonight. Hey ever," mira turned to me and continued speaking, "why dont we have a girls night when they do their guys night? We can have it at my house!" She said cheerfully. "That sounds like alot of fun. Lets talk to everyone about it!" I said. "Okay so first just pick your characters," ethan said as he handed us all the controls. I picked princess peach because she is one of the only one i actually knew. Natsu chose charizard, "you like pokemon?" I asked him. He smiled, "i dont play much anymore but i used to love it as a kid. Charizard was alwayd my favorite," he told me ethan picked wario, "why wario? He is so annoying!" I said while mira agreed. ""Hes funny!" Ethan said. Mira picked this woman that looked like and ninja, angel, demon, fairything. Its name was bayonetta. When we first started off mira and i immediatly died while getting a hang of the controls. Natsu had already knocked ethan off so now natsu was the only one with all of his lives. Everytime i attacked someone it made a "ha-cha!" Sounds that repeated over and ever again. "Ever shut the hell up!" Ethan yelled. This made me and natsu burst out into laughter, "thats mean!" Mira told him, "what? She annoying!" Ethan screamed. Just then i booty skammed him off of the map and killed him. "Nice job babe! That was awesome!" Natsu eventually it came down to just natsu and ethan, natsu ended up winning. "Lets just keep these characters," ethan said. We all agreed. Before he started the next round natsu moved his arm from around my neck to around my waist, as he did this he began pulling me closer to him. I let him pick me up and he evntually placed me in his lap. I smiled at his warmth and leaned my head on his arm. As we played he rested his chin on the top of my head. We played about ten rounds before saying this would be our last one. Natsu won again but this time it was against him and mira, "thats not fair! Youre too good!" I yelled at him, "that must be why youre with me," he said sarcastically while he wriggled his eyebrows. "Youre wierd!" I told him. "Wait so you guys..." Mira said as she turned to us, "are actually, together? Like boyfriend and girlfriend?" She asked. "Well...." I said looking down. "We havent really talked much about that..." I finished. "Oh..." Mira said understandingly. "Youre basically his girlfriend though, ever." Ethan told me. "Exactly," natsu said looking down at me, "so.....im your boyfriend....right?" Natsu asked me. I smiled up at him, "of course!" I answered a little too quickly, "well you know...if you want to be..." I finished. Natsu smiled, "of course i do," he told me before giving me a quick peck on the lips. "That was cute!" Mira squealed. "Whatever you say..." Ethan mumbled. "Well im tired..." Ethan said as he stood up. "Are you guys ready?" He asked. Mira nodded, "im ready. Could i possibly borrow a shirt though?" She asked. Ethan nodded as they went upstairs, "night guys!" Mira said before they were already upstairs. "Ready?" Natsu asked. I realized i was still in his lap. "Oh- yeah- sorry," i said getting off of him. "No its okay. Lets go," he said. I nodded and lead him upstairs. When we walked in i let him go infront of me and shut the door. As soon as i shut the door i remembered, 'oh shit! The drawing!' I quickly turned around but by time i did natsu was already looking at it, "you hung it up next to your bed?" Natsu asked. I felt my cheeks heat up, "yeah well i uh-i like it," i admitted. He smiled up at me from his seat on the bed, "well we can make it happen, if youd like," he told me. Im sure by this point my face was as red as erzas, "you uh- you want to cuddle with me?" I asked him. "Well id need to get shirtless first, but...yes. I want to hold you," he said. "Well i uh- let get dressed first," intold him. I fished out his shirt that i had just washed and looked around for his shorts....'shit'. I turned to natsu, "so uh- i think your shorts may be in the washer," i told him. He nodded, "well i can sleep in my boxers....if thats alright with you," he said. Once again i felt like i was a blushing mess, "sure, thats fine," i told him. I turned back to my drawers and found a pair of pajama shorts. I was still in my swim suit so i needed to get out of that. I took a pair of underwear and walked to the bathroom. Once i got dressed i headed back to my room and saw natsu under the blankets already. I walked over to the bed and natsu lifted the blankets for me. As i got under the covers with him i noticed that he was wearing only his boxers. His body heat was radiating onto me and i loved it. "So uh- do you still want to cuddle?" I asked shyly. Natsu didnt say a word but instead wrapped his arms around me and brought me closer to him. My face was burried in his chest, "is this alright?" Natsu asked. I nodded, "i like this," i said as i hugged him tighter. "I do too," he said as we drifted into sleep.

Ethans POV
I tossed a tshirt to mira and spoke, "you can get dressed in the bathroom," i told her. She shrugged, "i dont really mind. Ive worn bikinis in front of cameras so this is nothing," she said as she got undressed. I stripped down to my shorts and watched as mira peeled off her clothes. She was in her bra and underwear before throwing my shirt on, "this is comfty," she told me. "Good," i said as i laid down. Mira smiled sweetly before approaching me. I lifted the covers for her and she slipped under. "Youre warm," she said as she hugged me close to her. "This is nice..." I said before falling asleep.
