Chapter 21- lamia scale

Ethans POV
I woke up around 11 am and went downstairs. I made myself a cup of coffee and browsed 4chan. I havent been on this website since dad died. 'Wow i dont remember it being this fucked up'. I eventually got off of it because i couldnt find anything funny. 'Did i actually like this site?' Once i finished my coffee i began making pancakes. It wasnt too hard, flour, eggs milk and a little bit of sugar. I figured i could wake ever with a plate of pancakes. I remembered how we had sausage so i began making that too. By time i was done making a plate for both of us it was 12. I brought both plates upstairs and knocked on evers door. There was no response so i went in. She was asleep in her bed, i noticed that she had hung up the picture juvia drew of her and natsu. It was on her wall behind her bed. "Natsu.." Ever whispered in her sleep. 'Was she....dreaming about natsu?' I slowly sat down on the bed next to her and shook her awake, "ever," i called her name quietly. "Ever, wake up," slowly she opened her eyes and rubbed them before fully looking at me, "na-ethan?" She asked surprised. "Um yeah. Wierdo," i said jokingly. ""Hey i just woke up!" She said defensively. "Haha okayy. Well anyway, i made us breakfast," i said as i handed her the plate of pancakes and sausage. "What the special occasion?" She asked me. "Whats the special occasion? You have your match against lamia scale today!" I said. Her eyes went wide for a moment but calmed down quickly, "right. What time is it?" She asked as she looked towards where her clock should be. It was still in the livingroom from when her and natsu slept down there. "About 1215," i told her. "Okay. Well lets eat and then head to the school," she said. "Head to the school, why this early?" I asked. "Well me and juvia were planning to hangout for a bit before the match. Im sure shell bring gray along and i asked natsu to come as well. You should come too," she said. I thought for a moment, "i guess but im going to be bringing other people. I dont really feel like being the fifth wheel," i said sarcastically. She rolled her eyes at me before going back to her food. After we ate i brought the dishes downstairs and texted mira and jellal. I asked them if theyd like to meet their. Turns out the rest of the council was already at the school. Mira told me that the principal wanted to meet with me, ever and juvia before the meet. 'I cant believe we still havent met him yet' i thought to myself. Around 2 oclock, ever came down stairs. She was wearing white shorts and a red tanktop, i assume she had her swimsuit on underneath. "Ready to go soon?" She asked. "I did one final thing before speaking, "yeah and i have a surprise," i told her. She looked at me wuizically but i just respomded, "just wait until we leave. You should grab something to drink," i told her. She ran into the kitchen and came back out with two bottles of water. She tossed one to me before heading to the front door. When she opened she stopped in her tracks as i smiled behind her. "Ethan, whos car is that?" She asked me. "Well ever, that car is ours." I said. She turned back to me with a shocked expression, "you bought a car without me knowing!" She said angrily. Before she could yell anymore i put my hands up and explained, "well i ordered it offline and had it delivered here. It was too expensive plus it is a really safe car. It can fit up to four passangers. Plus i got it in your prefered color," i told her. She looked at the car and then back at me, "that car is red," she said. I chuckled, "yeah, and youve been wearing and showing off alot more red lately. I wonder why," she turned a little pink before asking, "so how much was it?" She asked. I looked down, "well its a new model, has all the saftey features plus the delivery.....it was about 100 thousand." I said. I waited for her response, i thought she was going to yell but she laughed instead, "ha! Ethan thats funny! Whyre you freaking out! 100k on a car isnt bad when we have more than 10 million together. Plus remember fathers rules to live by, 'saftey should be the number one conern,'" she said. I smiled up at her, "yeah i guess youre right. I just- we havent really spent much," i explained. She walked out the door and began inspecting the car, "well thats because we dont want to get too crazy with it. Plus we really only need a bit to live off of," she said. "So remember how dad kept trying to teach us how to drive?" I asked her. She nodded and cocked he rhead to the side, "well i may have....gotten my liscence," i told her. "Thats okay. You didnt know that daddy got me my liscence last year?" She asked me. "What? No i didnt know that!" i said before unlocking the doors. She got into the passenger side amd i drove. The whole drive to school she was inspeacting the car and all of its buttons. When we finally got there she stepped out, "ready to head to the pool?" She asked. I locked the car and out the key in my pocket, "yeah but we need to get juvia and talk to the principal," i told her. "We do?" I nodded, "mira told me that the principle would like to speak with us," i told her. She nodded as we walked to the pool. When we got inside almost everyone was there already. Aquairus was talking to juvia, laki and lisanna. Ever walked over to them and began talking with them, i assume it was some sort of pep talk. I walked over to everyone else and sat down, "hey guys," i said as i sat. "Whats up  ethan?" Gajeel asked me. He sat tall even though levy was leaning on his back while reading a book, "not much. Excited for today. Whatcha reading levy?" I asked. She looked up, "oh, romeo and juliet. Its been a while so i figured id oick it back up," she said. Evergreen stood up behind her, "thats it!" She said proudly. "Whats it?" Laxus asked. Elfman shrugged, "i never have any idea what your talking about," he said. "Romeo and juliet! Many schools have tried but none have pulled it off like we will!" She said. Wendy looked frieghtened, "romeo and juliet?" She asked. "Isnt that... A little advanced?" Romeo asked. "No no child. With the proper rehersals im sure youll all do fine. Now on monday i want every one of yous in the auditorium!" She told us. "Okayy.., so uh.. Wheres ever?" Erza asked. I looked towards where her and the rest of the swim team were standing. "Oh i see," she replied. "Looks like someone else notices as well..." Mira giggled out. I looked to where she was pointing and saw natsu gazing intently. I followd his stare and saw that he was staring at ever. He wasnt speaking or even moving as he stared at her. Me and mira both watched him for a moment. I finally noticed that..... He was staring at her ass!! I stood up and got in front of natsu, "yeah... Thats creepy." I said. He was snapped out of his thoughts and looked up at me, "oh hey ethan. I uh- i was just-" i cut him off, "staring at my sisters ass? Yeah i saw that. Look i get you love her and everything but i really dont want you to look at her like a piece of meat," i admitted. He was about to protest when gajeel spoke up, "cant deny it natsu! The ass is what its all about!" He said proudly. I noticed levy blushing and trying to hide her face in her book as he said this. "Well i-" natsu was starting to soeak but erza cut him off this time, "aw isnt that cute? Natsus in love~" she said while jellal and mira giggled. "Im not-" this time he was cut off by gray, "dont eben deny it, pinky. We all know," he said. "I wasnt-" he was even cut off by cana and lucy, "come on! Being an ass man is nothing to be ashamed of!" Cana said. "Natsu, if you really love her, you should let her know. Im sure she feels the same," lucy said reassuringly. When everyone shutup i could see natsu composing himself. He stood up and faced all of us, "ethan im sorry i didnt mean to be rude. Gajeel, dont be creepy. And i just- i dont even know that i love her so will you guys just drop it, already?" He said before sitting down. Mira and erza were giggling while laxus and jellal exchanged knowing glances. When the girls came back over to us lisanna sat with mira, laki sat with levy, juvia with gray and ever with natsu. "Dont forget, the principal would like to speak with you three," mira said. "Very well. Lets go," juvia said as she stood up. Me and ever followed her. "What do you think hed like to talk to us about?" Ever asked. I shrugged my shoulders but juvia answered, "well im not sure why he needs ethan but principal makarov likes to give pep talks before any match. He probably wants to tell us to do our best," juvia said. "Okayy," ever said. "You know, its wierd that we havent met him yet," i said. Juvia chuckled, "well he is usually doind paperwork for the government. But hes a really kind man. Im sure you two will like him," she said. We kept walking until we got to the principals office. When we got there juvia knocked. One second later a mans deep voice called out, "come in children!" It said. Juvia opened the door and walked in. "Welcome," the voice said as i shut the door behind me. "Good afternoon, sir." Juvia said. 'Where is this guy? I dont see him' just as i was thinking this the chair behind the desk turned around revealling a very short old man. He was no taller than four feet and had a large white mustache. He smiled widely, "ah- you must be the vargas twins!" He said. I nodded, "yes. I am ever and this is my brother ethan," ever said. "Well it is very nice to meet you two. Now down to buissness," we all took a seat across from his desk and listened. "Juvia, ever, you will be going against two girls from lamia scale today, do not underestimate them. I am sure you two can emerge victorious if you out your mind to it. However, even if you do lose know that fairytail will still be very proud of you for trying your best," he said. "Yes sir," juvia spoke happily. "I will do my best!" Ever said. The principal smiled, "im sure you will dear. I just wanted to let you girls know how proud we all are of you guys," he said. "Now. On to the next order of buissness," he looked towards me. "I am sure you are well aware of the strauss' current situation," he said. Juvia looked a bit confused but me and ever nodded. "Well i would like to make sure they have people who they can trust and turn to in their time of need," he said. Before i could speak juvia did, "what is wrong with them? I will help in anyway i can," she said. "Well you see....ethan, you should explain," the principal said. "Well uh- their father kind of....abandoned them " i told her. Juvia gasped. "Well i do not have much money but i would love to help them in anyway i can," she said. "And i already told ethan that i would be glad to help them!" Ever said. "Yes but the thing is they are so used to being independent," the principal spoke. "Excuse me, sir, if you dont mind," ever spoke calmly as she stood up. "Please you can call me makarov, dear," he said. "Okay. Uh- makarov, me and ethan have a large amount of money and it really wouldnt hurt us at all to help them out," she said. The principal rubbed his face, "i see.....are you sure it will not hurt your resources?" He asked. Ever was about to speak but i did, "im sure. Ive already talked to mira, lisanna and elfman. They are all aware that i am going to help them," i said. Ever nodded in agreement so did juvia. "I may not have much money but i will give them any support i can," juvia said. "Thankyou children so much," makarov said as he stood, "i know our student body will come together when needed. Such as a time like this," he spoke. "In all honesty i know about all of the relationships in this school, which is why i precisely asked for you three," he said. Juvia looked at him quizically before he explained, "i know that you, ethan have been seeing mira and i am aware of evers budding relationship as well..." He said. I noticed ever blush while juvia giggled, "well were not really-" he cut me off, "i dont really care for specifics. I know all my children will treat eachother right. But i do have a warning..." He said. This got juvia to stop giggling and pay attention. "A warning?" She asked. "Well lamia scale has a new student and i have heard of your previous involvment with him," he said. "Who is in lamia scale?" Juvia asked. "Well um- his name is athony lombard," he told us. 'Tony? No fucking way' i noticed ever gasp and put her face in her hands, "ever whats wrong?" Juvia asked worried. "I- its just- i cant-" she tried to speak but i could tell that she was trying hard not to start crying. "Its okay ever. Even if he is here today i wont let him bother you," i told her. "Im sure natsu will keep you far from him," makarov said casually. "Wait...tony? Like your ex?" Juvia asked. Ever nodded. "Im- ever im so sorry." I told her. "Now child. This is the perfect time to show him how proud you are to be where you are," makarov said. Ever took her hands out of her face. Her eyes were red and puffy, "you go an show that boy that you are a proud fairytail student! Win this match not only for yourself and your team but to show everyone how much youve grown," he said to her. She noddd before standing up proudly, "okay. I can do this! Thankyoy so much sir- uh i mean makarov." She said before leaving. Me and juvia said goodbye before running after her. She walked proudly with her head held high but as we got closer we could hear her quietly speaking, "i can do this. I am a proud fairytail student," she repeated these phrased over and over until we reached the pool. When we got in it was filled with a bunch of people. On our side it looked like the whole school body was on our side. I even saw the teachers there! On the other side of the pool there was a slew of unfamiliar faces. When we entered aquarius approached us, "okay girls. You have about 20 minutes before the match begins," she told us. Juvia and ever nodded before aquarius walked away. After she left we walked to where all of our friends were sitting.
