Chapter 51- christmas

Ethans POV
I woke up christmas morning and got excited. I could already smell the coffee that ever was making, which made me drag myself out of bed and downstairs. When i got into the kitchen ever was stillin her pajamas, holding two mugs of coffee in her hands, "morning. I was just about to come and wake you," she said as she handed me a mug. I took the coffee she handed me a took a sip, "french vanilla?" I asked. Ever nodded as she drank her coffee and walked into the living room. "Open our gifts?" She asked. I nodded happily, "of course! Cant wait," i said as i placed my coffee cup down and walked to the tree. I noticed that there was six gifts when there should only be three, the two i got and the one ever got. "Did you put all these here?" I asked ever making her nod. "Yeah, only one of them is really yours, the other ones are more...house hold things," she explained. "Okay," i said as i picked them up. I handed ever the gift i got for her and brought the rest of them to the couch where she sat. "Open yours first," she told me. "Oh okay," i said as i found the gift that said to: ethan, from: ever:) with a smiley face next to it. I smiled as i ripped the wrapping paper off of the big box. Inside was a plain cardboard box. I opened the top of it and smiled, "ever...." i trailed off as i pulled out the huge speakers that she had bought me, "you do realize this gift will come to bite you in the ass once i start using it," i told her making her laugh. "Yeah i know, but i know how you like your music loud," she said. "Thanks, sis. I love it," i said as i gave her a side hug. I realized that this was one of the first times ive called her sis in a while. "It was no problem, really. I love buying gifts for people," she admitted. "Alright now open yours. I think youll really like it," i said as i handed her the tube with wrapping paper on it. She looked at it quizically for a moment before peeling the paper off to reveal a plain black tube, "its a poster?" She asked as she began pulling it out of the tube. "Yeah but...just look at it," i told her. She unrolled the poster and looked at it before her smile grew wide. "Ethan...." she said, trailling off as she admired the poster i had made. It was a collage of a bunch of our photos, in the middle was a large picture of me, her and dad. Scattered around that were photos of us and our friends. Right above the middle photo was the picture that mira got of ever and natsu dancing at the homecoming. There were pictures of all of at the resorts cafe, laughing and smiling. There was even photos that lucy got of the girls kicking all our asses! "Ethan this is... i love it so much!" She said as she jumped on me and gave me a big hug. "Im glad you like it, i got the photos from so many people," i said as i hugged her back. She pulled away from me and i noticed tears in her eyes, "aw ever! Im sorry i didnt mean to make you cry," i said as she was wiping away her tears. "No its just...this is amazing," she said as she finished crying. "So what else do we have?" I asked pointing to the other gifts. "Eh just random stuff, you can open them," she said. "Here you open a few too," i told her. We opened the other four gifts and ended up with a new tea set, a new towel set, a new set of cutlery and finally ever opened the chalkboards that i bought. "What are these for?" She asked. "Well each of us can have one on our door on in our room and the other one can be put on the fridge," i explained. "Oh okay for like notes and stuff," she said while i nodded. We put all of our new stuff away and i came into evers room to find her hanging the poster on the wall across from her bed. She was standing on her dresser to put it up higher and was just placing the last thumb tack when i came in. "How does it look?" She asked. I looke at it a nodded, "it looks good," i told her, making her shrug, "you sure its not lopsided?" She asked. I looked at it for another moment before responding, "no its not crooked, its fine," i told her. She smiled before turning to me, "well get out so i can get dressed, natsu will be here to pick me up soon," she explained. "Okay, im getting ready to go to miras," i told her as i left her room.

Evers POV
When ethan left my room i looked through my dresser for a nice outfit, i ended up putting on a thigh hight red dress with black leggings and shoes. I put my hair into a high ponytail and placed a red bow above it and put on only black eyeliner and some lip balm. I grabbed my gym bag and emptied it before putting in a pair of pajamas in case i stayed over there tonight. I also put the gifts for natsu and his family in a large bag so i could carry them better. As i walked downstairs ethan was already dressed, sitting on the couch. He stood up and took the bag of gifts out of my hand and placed it at the front door for me, "thanks," i said as i sat down. "So what did you get for natsu and his family?" Ethan asked me as we sat on the couch, waiting for natsu. "Well you remember rose and daisy, right?" I asked him, making him nod. "Well i got them these really cute matching sweaters. Daisys is white with a little black dot on the heart and roses' is inverted," i explained. "So like yin and yang?" He asked, making me nod. "I copied the recipe book-minus a few recipes- for igneel and mr. akabane," i said, making him gasp. "You did? Those were his recipes for the family!" He said. "Dont worry-" i said cutting him off. "I left out about a quarter of the recipes. Plus, they are like family," i finished. "Is natsus brother and sister in law going to be there?" He asked. I nodded, "yeah i got them tickets to a resort in hawaii. I figured they would both like a vacation and as biologists they should like the new scenery," i told him. "I got glynda this really beautiful painting of glinda from the wizard of oz, that looks like starry night," i told him. "Is she into art?" He asked. I shrugged, "im not sure but this is beautiful, anyone would love it," i explained. He nodded in understanding. "Are you finished with natsus gift?" He asked me. "I uh- yeah i am, all two hundred. I still dont know how i feel about this," i told him. "Well mira and juvia told you it would be a great way to get it out in the open so," he finished, trailing off. "What if- i dont know- what if he wont say it back?" I asked, getting nervous. "Ever, chill out. Ive interupted you guys too many times, i know hell say it back," he told me. "Are you sure? What if hes changed his mind?" I asked. "Ever, he hasnt. And if he did, hes not good enough for you," he told me. I was opening to my mouth to speak when we heard a knock on the door. "That must be natsu," i said as i stood and flattened my dress. "Ever, i promise, itll be okay," he told me as i went to get the door. "Merry christmas," natsu said as i opened the door. I hugged him tightly before letting him in, "want me to carry this for you?" He asked as he saw me picking up the bag of gifts. "Sure, thankyou," i told him, handing the bag off. "Bye ethan! Ill see you later," i called to him as i left. "Everyone is at the house already, we were waiting to do gifts until you got there," he told me. "Im sorry- i couldve drove over," i told him. "No its okay, i wanted to pick you up. You look really cute by the way," he said as he opened the car door for me. When we got to natsus house it was decorated beautifully and everyone was sitting around the dining room table. They were all very chipper, even including rose! We began opening gifts after our greeting, so i handing the gifts out. "I want you guys to open my gifts last since theyre arent that good," i told them. igneel laughed, "im sure theyre just fine," he told me. "But if thats what you want, okay," he finished. They all opened their gifts from eachother and i opened my gifts from them. Rose and daisy got me two books that have to do with research psychology, it suprised me that they even remembered that. Mr. And mrs. Akabane got me a bath set with blue slippers and a soft robe, im sure glynda was the one who picked it out. Zeref and mavis got me a tiny tree to which mavis explained, "it will stay tiny but its still real," she said. I actually thought it was a really cute and thanked them. Igneel, however, got me a white tshirt. When i opened it to look at the design my face felt hot. The shirt had red letters on it that said, "property of my son". "Thats cute!" Daisy and mavis said together. I just nodded and put it back into the bag, "thankyou igneel," i said quietly. "Well i like it," natsu said making rose chuckle. "Now i want to see what you got us, ever!" Daisy said excitedly. "Okay go ahead," i said. Daisy and rose were the first to open theirs, they unfolded the sweaters. Daisy smiled widely while rose just chuckled, "these are so soft," daisy said as she felt the fabric of it. "It is cute, i have to admit. Thanks ever," rose said as she put it back into the bag. Next mr. And mrs. Akabane opened their gifts. "Wow this is simply stunning!" Glynda said looking over the painting. "Thanks. The glinda reminded me of you, plus it was just pretty i couldnt resist," i explained. She nodded happily, still looking at the painting. Mr. Akabane opened his and didnt say anything as he read the note that i put in the front of it. If i remember correctly the note said something along the lines of, "i consider you guys my family, so heres some of my fathers recipes, dont share them with people outside of the family," or something like that. He smiled up at me, "is this really-" he started to speak but i cut him off, "yeah, in fact, igneel you can open yours too, its similar to what i gave mr. Akabane," i told igneel. He did the same thing as mr. Akabane and flipped the pages happily, looking over the recipes i shared with them. "This is amazing ever, thankyou!" Igneel said. "This is- more than amazing! Thankyou you beautiful girl!" Mr. Akabane stood up and embraced me in a hug, shocking me. I hugged back lightly but was shocked even more when he spoke again, "thats it! Natsu, you marry this girl right now before someone else does!" He told natsu. I blushed widely as he and natsu began bickering. Finally igneel and glynda quieted them down enough for zeref and mavis to open their gift. "Im sorry its not much but i figured its pretty and as biologist it fits into your work as well," i said as they looked over the plane and resort tickets i gave them. Zeref stared at them while mavis jumped up happily, "aw yeah! Hawaii, here i come!" She yelled happily as she ran over to me and jumped on me in a hug, almost knocking me over. "Thankyou so much ever!" She said happily as i hugged back. "Dont worry about, i wasnt sure how you guys would feel about it," i said as she released me. We looked towards zeref who was still looking at the tickets, mavis was about to speak when he did, "how much was this, ever?" He asked. "I promise it wasnt too much. You may not know but my father left us enough money," i explained to him. He looked up at me with a straight face, "even more reason for you not to spend it too much. I want to pay you back," he finished. "Nonsense! It was a gift, non-refundahle," i said proudly. "See, zeref? Its alright. Cant you get excited for our trip?" Mavis asked him. Zeref shook his head before finally smiling a bit, "very well, thankyou ever," he said making me nod. "That reminds me though, i think we still need to tell everyone," mavis went back to zeref but stayed standing up. "Okay i guess now is the best time," zeref tood her. "Whats up?" Natsu asked. We all stayed silent, waiting for them to respond. I saw mavis' smile and thought i knew what they were going to say, but i waited anyway. "Well mavis and i are- you go ahead mavis," zeref told her. "Im pregnant!" She said happily making us all gasp. "Really? Thats amazing!" Me, glynda and daisy all yelled at once. "I cant wait! I love babies!" Rose said, making me look at her, she only responded by sticking her tongue out. "Im gonna be a granddad!" Igneel said happily. "Do you have any names yet?" I asked them. Mavis shook her head, "no we arent sur eyet, but im sure it will come to us," she answered. The rest of the day we spent eating and talking around the table. I was waiting until we were alone to give natsu his gift, and he said he had another gift for me but i wasnt sure what it could be, he already gave me a beautiful necklace. Around five oclock igneel and mr. Akabane went into the kitchen and an hour later they brough out a delicious ham and roasted potatoes. We ate dinner happily and afterwards i helped the rest of the girls to clean and do the dishes. "So i didnt see you give a gift to natsu," rose chuckled beside me. "Does it need to be private?" She asked, making my face heat up, but i nodded anyway, making her laugh harder. "Dont tell me its something dirty!" Daisy said, sounding horrified. "N-no! Its nothing perverted, i swear!" I told them, making rose laugh even more. "Are you going to tell him how you feel?" Glynda asked, obviously listening to our conversation. I nodded, which made rose stop laughing at look at me seriously. I continued to dry the dishes that rose handed me, and handed them to glynda who would put them away, all while staying silent. "Wait- you guys havent said i love you yet?" Daisy asked me. I shook my head, "and you planning to do it, tonight?" Mavis asked me, making me nod. "Not to pry but, how are you going to..." rose trailed off, not wanting to finish her question. "Well i wrote these little..notes to him and put them in a jar i decorated." I explained. "Wait- is it like, the reasons you love him?" Daisy asked. I nodded, "that is so cute!" Mavis exclaimed. "Im just- i dont know what hell say," i told them. "What do you even mean?" Daisy asked, confused. "No matter how dumb he can be, im sure he loves you too," rose told me, calmly. "Oh dont be foolish child," glynda spoke up. "I can see right through that boy, he loves you dearly, im sure of it," she said. "I hope so," i said.
