Chapter 38- a hungover brunch

Evers POV
I woke up with a slight headache, "what the hell haplened last night?" I thought out loud. "Oh ever, youre awake," natsu said as he came out of the kitchen. I focused on my surroundings and saw that i was in between juvia and lisanna while they slept. All of the girls were on the floor around me still sleeping, except for wendy who was asleep on the couch. "Wh-what happened last night?" I asked natsu as i stood up. "Its a long story, we should wait for everyone to wake up. Come get tea," he said calmly before walking back into the kitchen. I followed him in the kitchen and was greeted by al, the guys around the table with cups of tea and coffee. "You guys are already awake?" I asked as i came in, "well yeah, we didnt get completly wasted last night-" gajeel scoffed. "Oh....that...i dont exactly remember everything but im sorry if i did anything," i said as i sat down next to gray. "Its alright, once everyone wakes up well tell you what happened," natsu said as he handed me a cup of tea. "But werent you drinking with us, fried?" I asked him. Fried nodded, "well yes i had a few drinks. But it seems i can hold my liquor better than you girls," he said making me shut up. "How do you feel, ever?" Ethan asked me from across the table. "Uh, fine i guess. My head hurts a little," i admitted. Ethan nodded, "is this your first hangover?" Natsu asked me. I nodded, "yeah, i dont really drink," i told him. "Well make sure to drink lots of water today, itll help," jellal told me. "Thanks, i will,"

Natsus POV
"I knew you girls had the lesbo in you!" Cana yelled after we finished the story. "I-i- is that true?" Erza asked, clearly flustered. "Yeah, im sorry but me and jellal had to pull you two off of eachother," ethan told them. "Well- i guess if i had to do it with any girl, im glad it was you erza," mira spoke up. Erza nodded, "i-i suppose youre right. Nothing we can do now, anyway," she said. "I-im sorry ever, i dont swing that way!" Juvia said. Ever giggled, "its okay juvia, neither do i. We were just....too drunk, i guess. But im happy it was you and not some random chick," ever told her. "Y-yeah. If i ever have to make out with a girl, i hope its you," juvia told her. "But i do have one question guys," ever turned towards me, gray, ethan and jellal. "Uh yeah?" I asked. "So uh- you said we were all shirtless.....how did you pull us off of eachother?" She asked. I felt my face heat up immediatly just from the memory of it. Gray and ethan both stammered while i stood there blushing like an idiot, "wh-well-we-uh-i-uh" was all those two could say and i couldnt say a word. Finally jella spoke up on our behalf, "well we uh- went in and got you guys. We made you get off of eachother and put shirts on. Dont worry, i dont think there was any wandering eyes, if thats what you were worried about," jellal spoke calmly. Ever nodded, "o-okay i just- natsu was the one to get me, right?" She asked. I nodded, "of course. Natsu put your shirt on you and brought you to bed. Just as i did for erza, ethan did for mira and gray did for juvia," jellal answered. Ever stood up and approached me, "well thanks natsu- i appreciate it," she said as she wrapped her arms around me. I was shocked at first but i hugged back aer a moment. We stayed there holding eachother until someone spoke up, "okay yeah thats cute and all but im hungry, lets go," gajeel told us. Ever pulled away as i scowled at him, "go where?" She asked him. "Oh just the diner," gajeel told her. Ever nodded, "okay well lets get dressed," she said. "We can go in my room to change," mira said as all the girls walked away. "Lets just get dressed in my room, i guess," elfman said.

Evers POV
We all got into mira room when i remembered, "crap, natsu only brought me pajamas!" I said outloud. Mira turned towards me, "thats fine," she said. "I was just going to stay in my pajamas," erza said as she brushed her hair. "Yeah i am too, these pajamas are so comfortable!" Wendy told us as she put on new socks. "You dont have a hangover at all?" Lucy asked as she wiped off her smudged makeup. Wendy shook her head, "no, i guess its because i didnt drink as much as you guys," she answered. "Well i dont feel too bad," evergreen said. "Well you werent that drunk," cana told her. "What about me? I only have a slight headache," lisanna said. "You were- just funny," cana said with a chuckle. "All i remember was laughing at everything," levy said. Lucy laughed, "because thats all you did do!" She told her. I brushed my hair and put it onto a bun before ging to the bathroom in miras room. I washed my face to get off all the makeup before using her mouthwash. We all went downstairs to see the guys were ready and waiting for us. We all drove to the diner and got a few booths next to eachother. I was in a booth natsu, juvia and gray. Ethan, mira, jellal and erza sat together. Laxus, fried, elfman and evergreen sat together. Bickslow, lisanna, lucy and cana sat together. Wendy and romeo sat with gajeel and levy at the booth next to ours. "So uh- whos paying?" Romeo asked making me giggle. "What its a fair question," he said. I giggled again, "yeah it is, ill pay, dont worry," i told him. Wendy smiled, "youre such a nice person, ever," she said happily making me blush a little. "No-not really, i just want to buy breakfast for my friends," i told them. "Well its more like lunch time now," natsu said from next to me. "Yeah but this is our breakfast," i told him. "Fine than its brunch!" Juvia said. Natsu and gray looked confused, "brunch?" Natsu asked. "Natsu, piece it together, br-unch," gajeel said condescendingly. "It means breakfast and lunch, its actually quiet popular," levy told them. "Fine so its brunch," natsu huffed. "Lets just get some food," gray scoffed. "Are you sure ever? I can pay," natsu asked me. I smiled, "no its okay, i want to pah, chill out," i told him, making him relax. We ordered and i ended up getting a greasy cheese burger and fries. "So much for this being breakfast," natsu said when our food came. "Well i wanted a cheese burger, sue me. Besides you dont have breakfast either," i said looking down at his pile of bufflo bites. "I like spicy! Dont judge me," he said wiht a chuckle. "Okay but im gonna be dipping my fries in your bufflo sauce," i said as i dipped one of my fries. He chuckled, "sure knock yourself out, cause im sharing your fries," he said as he took one of my fries. When we were done eating we all sat there for a bit, "so guys...." wendy spoke making us all pay attention. "What will you be doing for the holidays?" She asked. We were all silent, as if none of us knew exactly what to say. "Well uh- i was going to go to ethan and evers thanksgiving, if theyd still allow me," lisanna said looking down. "Of course youre still allowed! In fact, if any of you dont have a place to go you can come and have the holidays with us," ethan said happily. "So me and lisanna will be joining ethan and ever," mira said. "I will be too," elfman said. "Good, im glad to have you guys," i told them. "I was just going to spend it with my dad...." lucy said. Cana nodded beside her, "yeah same for me," cana said. "I uh- im just staying with my grandfather," laxus said casually, "you can come if youd like, guys," he looked towards evergreen, fried and bickslow who smiled. "Really? Id be honored," evergreen said happily. "That sounds awesome!" Bickslow told him. "I would love to," fried told him with a smile. "What about you jellal?" Laxus asked him. "Well uh- i was going to go visit the orphanage," he said making gray sit up, "you are?" Gray asked. Jellal nodded, "yes i was going to bring erza, if youd like to come as well. I know ulte-" gray cut him off, "no im just going to go for christmas" gray said making jellal nod. "I understand, so where will you be going?" Jellal asked. Gray shrugged, "not sure," he answered. Juvia spoke up, "you can come with me gray sama! Gajeel and i always make the best turkey!" She said making a few of us gasp. "You cook gajeel? I didnt know that!" Levy said from beside him. "It was sopposed to be a surprise for thanksgiving but...,yeah," he admitted. "Uh- if you dont let him poison me, sure ill come," gray spoke calmly. Juvia smiled widely, "yay! I will make the best dinner for you," she said as she hugged him. "So youre going to be there too levy?" I asked her. She nodded, "its the first thanksgiving without my dad, so i want to be around people i care about," she told me. "I-im sorry, i didnt i know," ethan told her. "Its alright, besides, you guys are in the same boat as me, arent you?" Levy asked us. I nodded, "yeah we are. But its okay, we have our friends," i told them. Levy nodded in agreement. "So what about you natsu?" Gray asked. "Well uh- my dad and the akabanes agreed to have thanksgiving with ever this year, i just havent talked to my brother yet," he answered. "Your brothers coming back to town?" Gray asked. "Yeah, him and his wife are-" before he could finish laxus spoke up, "first principal mavis is going to be in town?" He asked. Natsu nodded, "well yeah her and zeref are-" laxus cut him off again, "im gonna have to tell gramps, hes been wanting to speak with her for a while now," he said. "Oo-kay, well anyway like i was saying, i just have to ask him, and hopefully we will also be at evers for thanksgiving," natsu finished. I smiled widely, "really? Oh im so happy i get to spend thanksgiving with you!" I said. Natsu smiled, "yeah just uh- dont let my family bother you," he said. "Bother me? Besides your brother and his wife, ive already met them," i told him. "Yeah uh- theres him but i mean dont let the akabanes daughters bother you," he said. I looked at him confused before he spoke up, "daisy and rose can be...a handful," he finished. "Oh those girls! Theyre funny!" Gajeel said. "Actaully their quite smart," jellal said. "Quite annoying you mean," gray said. "So you guys have all met them. Gray nodded, "yeah natsu and us used to go to the red dragon buffet all the time together," he answered. "Well we should do it again, why not," i said making juvia nod in agreement. "Well what about you romeo? What are you doing for the holidays?" Wendy asked him. We all turned towards romeo who was starting to turn pink, "well uh- i was going to ask you if uh- if you and your mom would like to come to my house for thanksgiving," he spoke quietly but we still heard him. Wendy smiled, "sure! Id love to. I have to ask my mom of course, but i dont see why not," she answered happily making romeo smile. "Great! My dad already said that it would be okay," romeo told her.

Ethans POV
"I cant believe thanksgiving is next week," i said as we all left the diner. "I know, soon itll be christmas!" Lisanna said happily. I drove them home before heading back to my house. When i oulled up outfront i could see natsu and ever still in the car. I walked up to where they were parked and knocked on the window making them pull apart. "Yeah i get it, that you love eachother and everything but could you not hook up in the car outside?" I asked sarcastically. Evers face turned red as she yelled, "ethan! Get out of here! Go inside!" She yelled at me while natsu chuckled. I nodded and went inside, still laughing to myself. I got a shower and by the time i came back down ever was on the couch. I noticed her writing something so i asked, "what you writing?" I said as i sat next to her. "Just the list for thanksgiving, by the way we should go shopping tommorow," she said. I nodded, "okay we can go after you and erza train," i told her. She nodded snd kept writing the list.

Natsus POV
When i got home i kept thinking about how zeref is going to react to ever. I mean, there was a while when he was so rebellious that i didnt want anyone to know i was related to him. But now hes trying to be better, and he has been, for a few years. I finally got up the courage to text him to ask,
Me: hey, you got a minute?
He replied back alsmot instantly,
Zeref: yeah im not busy. whats up, lil bro?
Me: -.- i just want to know if you and mavis would like to go somewhere else for thanksgiving
Zeref: uh sure, where?
Me: my friends ethan and ever invited us
Zeref: are the akabanes coming as well?
Me: yeah they already agreed, they really like ever
Zeref: so ever...is your girlfriend?
Me: well....yeah. Look, are you in? Or not?
Zeref: yeah well come, just give me the address
Me: okay
After i gave zeref the address and detail i went downstairs and made myself some popcorn. As it was in the microwave i got another text from and unknown number,
Unknown: hello! I cant wait to meet your girlfriend natsu! Im sure shes beautiful
Me: uh whis this? First?
Unknown: of course! And no need to call me first, its mavis, silly!
I quickly made her a contact.
Mavis: zeref gave me your number because i want to know all about this girlfriend of yours
Me: eh, i dont know...youll get to meet her next week
Mavis: yes which is why i should know what she likes that way i can converse with her
Me: i guess so...where do i start?
I spend more than half the night texting mavis about ever. I guess i cant say that my brother does everything wring, he did pick mavis as a wife, and shes pretty great. For as long as hes been with her, she has been his light. Everytime that he would start to fall off the path, she would bring him back. I guess thats why im so comfortable talking with her.
Mavis: so youre in love?
Me: well un...i...i dont know about in love...
Mavis: you just spent over two hours talking about her and how amazing she is, i can see it. Youre in love
Me: okay well..maybe i am! But dont telk anyone! I havent been able to tell her yet.
Mavis: and why not?
Me: her brother keeps getting in the way! I mean, not on purpose but still
Mavis: i see, well theres a time for everything
Me: i guess....
Mavis: ill see you on thursday, natsu
Me: see you then, first
Mavis: its mavis, no need for the formality
Me: okay, see you then, mavis
