Chapter 35- preparing for homecoming

Ethans POV
I woke up early to the sound of ever in the kitchen. I walked downstairs to find her cooking bacon and pancakes, "eve, you dont need to cook today, i thought you were heading to miras house?" I asked. She looked up from the pan, "yeah but i figured i would cook for you guys before i left," she said putting the bacon on a plate. ""Aw you dont have to do that, but thankyou." I said. Ever smiled, "you can finish the pancakes if youd like. I need to get dressed," she said. Before she walked away i asked, "when are you guys meeting at miras?" I asked. "In about an hour, what about you guys?" She asked. "In a couple hours, not really sure," i answered. "Okay well im gonna go grab my stuff, should i walk so you guys can pick us up later?" She asked. I thought for a moment, "yeah i guess. Just so we can all pick you up from miras," i answered. Ever nodded before going upstairs. I made a the rest of the pancake batter by the time that she came back down. She was only in sweats and a tshirt but she held what i assume is her dress and her makeup bag. "Well im heading to miras, ill see you later," she called out. I finished cooking what she had started before getting dressed. Just like ever i only got into sweatpants and a tshirt. It was about an hour later when i got a text,
Jelly: hey, can we head over?
Me: sure thats cool
Jelly: cool be there soon
After i texted jellal back i put the food on the table and waited for the guys. Jellal and natsu showed up first. "Hey ethan," natsu said as he entered. "Is ever at miras already?" Jellal asked. I nodded, "yeah theyre probably already getting ready," i said. Just then gajeel and gray walked in, "see? I told you we werent late," gray said as they entered, "no, we havent even started yet," i told them. We all sat around talking just waiting for the rest of the guys to show up and when they did we began eating. While we ate we talked, "so natsu, how are things going with you and ever?" Jellal asked. "Well i uh- good," he finished. "What else were you gonna say?" Laxus asked. "I was gonna say that i uh- im an idiot," he said looking down. "Yeah we know that already," gray said with a chuckle. "Hey! Shut up!" Natsu yelled at him, "i dont think thats what he meant," jellal spoke. "Yeah he meant that hes too chicken, not dumb," gajeel said. "I am not chicken!" Natsu yelled. "So have you told her you love her?' Elfman asked. "N-no but i- i uh- fine you guys are right. But its not like you guys are exactly open about your feelings!" He yelled. "Hey, erza knows my feelings about her, so leave me out of this," jellal said. "Well hey! Leave me out of this too because juvia knows how i feel about her." Gray said casually making us all look at him. "Oh does she?" I asked sarcastically as i took another piece of bacon. "Yes! I - i told her that im bad at expressing my feelings," he said. "Which you are," elfman mumbled making gray scowl at him. "So she knows that youre bad at expressing your feelings but she doesnt know your feelings....." jellal said. "Well- hey! At least im trying!" Gray yelled, starting to blush. "And elfman, here cant even admit his feelings!" Gajeel said with a laugh, "y-yes i can i just- dont have any feelings," he said. "Oh please, if you dont love evergreen than i dont love lisanna," bickslow said making us all shut up. "So- you love lisanna?" I asked. "Uh well- uh- i uh- yeah," he finally answered. "Have you told her?" Jellal asked. "Well uh- not exactly...." he began. "What about you laxus?" I asked. "Fried already knows how i feel," he said calmly. "And what is that?" Gajeel asked, "yeah, youre so mysterious," i finally added. "Well fried knows that i love him, we dont need to anounce our love to the world for it to be real," laxus said making us all nod. "Wait, where is fried?" Bickslow asked. "Oh he wanted to hangout with the girls today," laxus told us. "Well what about you, ethan? Hows mira?" Laxus asked me. "Mira? Shes uh- shes fine," i said trying to avoid the subject. "Are you open about your feelings?" Gajeel asked. "Well i - yeah i am. Im just uh- not sure about my feelings myself," i admitted. "So do you love her?" Elfman asked me.  I thougt for a moment before replying, "well i uh-" i stopped talking and thought for a moment, "dont be shy..." natsu said mockingly making me scowl at him. "I uh- im not really sure what love is-" i admitted. "Well how does she make you feel? I know that i love lisanna because she is the best thing thats ever happened to me. I want to protect her and keep her safe and make sure she is having fun with whatever she does and...." bickslow stopped and looked at elfman, "sorry, you dont need to hear this," he finally said putting his head down. "No its fine, really. Ive heard worse" he said. "Well then- i must love mira. I mean she is definitly the best thing to ever happen to me. And of course i want to protect her and i want her to have a good life, even if that means she isnt with me," i said. "Dude, i can tell that shes happy with you," natsu said. I looked at him quizically, "hes right ethan, mira talks about how amazing you are almost non stop," elfman told me making my face heat up, "s-she does?" I asked making elfman nod. "Well what about you gajeel? No one has asked if you love levy," i said looking at him.  "Thats cause we dont need to, we already know he loves her," natsu explained making gajeel blush. " its just a matter of, when will he tell her," gray said making everyone else nod. "Ever since he transferred to fairytail he has been in love with her,"  jellal said. Gajeel sat there, not saying a word. "How do you know?" I asked making laxus speak up, "uh well, it was around the same time that i was being dumb," he said. "What do you mean?" I asked. Everyone else went silent, waiting for laxus to explain. "Well i uh- i was getting into alot of fights and cheating on exams...i almost got kicked out," he explained, shocking me. "Really? Well what does that have to do with gajeel and levy?" I asked making natsu chuckle, "now this story is actually really cute," natsu said. "Yeah and its like...the begining of their whole relationship if you dont count gajeels time in phantom," gray said. "What happened??" I asked, curious. "Well a couple of guys were harrassing me. It was understandable since i had done some fucked up things while i was in phantom," gajeel said looking down. "Levy came by and tried to tell them to stop being dicks but they wouldnt listen," jellal told me making me "aw". Bickslow chimed in, "thats when laxus decided he wanted to beat up gajeel, so he went over and started roughing him up," bickslow told me. "Really? Ever since ive known you, you guys have been friends," i said. "Yeah thats surprising," romeo said. "Yeah well, it didnt start like that," elfman said. "When levy yelled at me, i wasnt even thinking. I just lashed out at her, i was lucky that gajeel was there otherwise i would have really hurt her," laxus said putting his head down. "So you protected her?" I asked. Gajeel nodded, "yeah i jumped in front of her, took the hit and walked away," he told me. "Sounds like you," i said. "But laxus, we all know youve changed since then," jellal said. "Yeah dude. Really, no hard feelings," elfman told him. "Yeah laxus, chill out! Youre not that big of a dick anymore!" Natsu said making me and jellal scowl at him. "Well laxus, as long as ive known you, youve been a great guy," i told him. "So moving on...what about you, romeo?" Natsu asked making us all look towards romeo. "What about me?" He asked innocently. "Oh dont be so innocent, what about you and wendy?" Gray asked making romeo blushed. "Theres uh- theres not much to tell, we only went on one date," romeo explained. "Yeah but do you really like her?" Jellal asked. "I uh- well yeah. Shes really pretty and nice, and shes funny too," romeo admitted. "Aw thats so cute," i said making romeo blush harder. "What time is it?" Gray asked, making me look towards the clock in thr livingroom. "About 4 now," i said. Gray nodded while jellal spoke, "shall we start getting ready in like, two hours?" Jellal said. "It starts at eight?" I asked making everyone nod. "Then i guess two hours is fine," i said. "Wanna play video games until then?" I asked. We all looked at eachother before nodding and going to the living room. "Oh by the way, i hope no one forgot their pajamas for miras after party," elfman said. "Aw crap! I dont think ever knew about that!" I said making everyone laugh. "Aw thats sucks. Well either natsu could drive her here after the dance before going to miras, or you could go get her clothes for her," jellal said calmly. "Im not sure what she would want....." i said, "but i dont want natsu to make two trips," i said. I thought for a moment before speaking, "natsu, go get her clothes," i told him. Natsu stood up but looked confused, "okay.... why do you want me to get them?" He asked. "I know she wont complain about the clothes that you pick for her," i said making natsu chuckle. "Really? I dont know what girls like," he said as he walked up the steps. "I dont think ever will care....." i said as he went up the steps making all the guys chuckle. Me and jellal got my wii u all set up and ready to play mario kart. Now we were just waiting for natsu to come back down."what the hell is taking him so long?" Gray finally asked. "Looks like im gonna have to go up anyway," i said as i stood up. I walked up stairs and went to evers door, i could hear the opening and closing of her drawers as i entered. I looked up and saw natsu, staring into her underwear drawer with a dopey grin and huge blush on his face. "Uh...." we all he said when i entered, "what the hell dude?" I almost yelled. "I uh- I swear this has only been open for a minute! I was trying to find her pajama drawer!" He stammered. "I uh- whatever dude, i dont even care at this point," i said rubbing my temples. "Its the top drawer of that dresser," i said pointing to her dresser on the other side of the room. "Uh- okay thanks," natsu said as he slowly shut her underwear drawer. I stood by the door as i watched natsu pick out her clothes. He picked out one of her fluffly pajama pants and a tshirt. "Uh is this good?" Natsu said as he held up her clothes. "Yeah that should be fine," i said as i walked away. Natsu followed behind me as we went downstairs. He put her clothes on the table before sitting down, "what took ya so long?" Gajeel asked making natsu get visablly flustered. "Oh uh i uh-" he studdered. "He was just being a pervert," i blurted out making natsus face turn red. "I- i was not and you know it!" He said. "Oh he was? How so?" Gray asked. "He was looking through her underwear draw," i told them making gray and gajeel go hysterical laughing. "I-i was not i just- i could find her pajama drawer!" Natsu yelled. "Yeah im sure thats what happened," bickslow chuckled. "Guys stop, i swear i wasnt being a pervert!"
